The "from the right guy" is
really something. I wonder if he originally came from some really
backwoods part of the country. Can he possibly believe all the
things he posts? He sounds like a guy that's in the wrong century.
He must be a very scared and paranoid person in that he thinks an
elected government can just come in and change our country so
drastically is remarkable. This newly elected government is only 7
months old, and he believes we're going to become a socialist
country. Now he thinks they’re going to takeaway our freedom of
speech. This nation has too many free thinking people (thankfully)
to allow any government to so radically change who we are.
The writer tries to sound like he's a
beacon of truth. What he really sounds like is propagandist.
He tries to scare people (ignorant people who don't want to think
for themselves). All you have to do is look at history, especially
during the depression era, many people were saying the same thing he
spews today that Roosevelt was turning this country into a
socialist nation.
What Roosevelt did was create
programs the "far right guy" claims to enjoy today. And even if you
believe Roosevelt did more damage with his programs to the economy
than help it, the fact still remains we continue to be a free
nation. I'm no fan of any government. All governments only care
about one thing, keeping itself alive. He claims he believes we’re
the greatest nation on earth. Well that's confusing, because he has
no faith in its people. |

[Turtle
Cam] I am the person who went to help the turtles and I must
clear up a few things.
1.) I was wrong.
The person I thought was with FWC was only a state employee.
2.) I was given
the location by a permitted organization; otherwise I wouldn't have
known where it was.
3.) I waited at
the road until a trained turtle expert showed up and invited me to
join him.
4.) Yes my
flashlight (as well as the experts) was unapproved. It did come in
handy as the state worker would have stepped on the nest if I had
not have turned it on. The turtles would not have been able to see
the light unless I shoved it up the raccoon’s ass.
5.) If the state
employee would have said she had it under control I would have been
on my way immediately.
6.) This is not
the way turtles have lived for 250 million years. Now they deal with
decreased beach from development, boat props, fishing line, human’s
trash they eat which gets impacted, and the ever increasing number
of feral cats.
I only feel that if people can help animals it is the least we can
do for all the problems we have caused them. I would like for the
camera’s operator to post the excavation and release of these
so-called 80 survivors to show the world that it was a success. If
you would like to continue this debate on here feel free to do so as
I am sure the locals and tourist would like to know who they are
supporting when they visit the Keys.

I smoke pot because it helps
me deal with the stress of being raised in a cult, also known as
Jehovah's Witnesses (PTSD) an inherited brain chemical imbalance
(Bi-Polar) and anxiety overtones due to the extreme religious
beliefs put upon me as a child. Not to mention the porn addicted
pervert/control freak/stalker/psychotic boyfriend I had on Big Pine
Key who never left me alone and made me flee the state.
Pot makes me feel normal in a cruel, war based, violent, media
controlled, world. We all know that this country's people sheep or
lemmings controlled by fear. Those in power - religion - medicine -
corporate America, those 16 people who sit on multiple Boards of
Directors of major companies who all share the same interest:
keeping all the money. And people like me and you,
hardworking, family people - in poverty.
I was born into this world to give love and to learn. I have tried
to commit suicide with pills, knives, and electrocution. Then with
really loving and good treatment. I took all their pharmaceutical
psychotropic drugs, whose side effects nearly killed me.
With a toke now and again I am calm, I sleep, I don't have stomach
ulcers, I can support myself, and I feel good about my reality. I
did not make this world. I did not make marijuana illegal. I'm
kind, open, loving, charitable and empathetic toward all and I'm not
going to change so you can feel like you eradicated a dangerous
drug. I suggest you put your energies toward people who do
methamphetamine, and coke. When I lived in the Keys I swear I was
the only one without a coke dealer on speed dial. Wake up people,
in the Bible it says we have dominion and use of all herbs. Let it
go. |

[Mystery
Mites] I believe what got on you is a bunch of very tiny red
ants known as Little Fire Ants. These are very small. If even one
stings me it feels like a bee sting. I can't imagine a chainsaw
blast full of them, it would have probably put me in the hospital. I
have only talked to one other person here in the Keys that has had
them sting them in the same way. As stated on this website: If
complaints are of painful stings, but no stinging insect is seen,
little fire ants may be to blame. This is usually how it is with me
and the ants can sting more than one time each. These are not the
more prevalent black/ brown fire ants that make a mound. I usually
see these little fire ants congregating in my palm trees.

[Downstairs Enclosures] Why
is the County persecuting her when the judge ruled in her favor
twice already? What is the County's agenda? That's easy. It's
the CYA (cover your ass) principle. Because the County did not
catch it, so they're guilty of letting something exist which the
feds say can't exist. So County has to save face with the feds.
Or somebody in the County just doesn't like her. Or she's paying
now for some sin in a previous life.
My question is how much in dollars
and employees’ time and paperwork and even making photocopies and
phone calls is the County spending to prosecute this for the 3rd
time? And since our taxes are also paying for all the court costs,
I have the same question. |

[God:
let’s clear a few things up for you Godless Communists] I don't know
what church you go to but I would hope it is not mine. That is not
the message I hear every Sunday. Your statements are the exact
reason people hate God. You are the worse evil, twisting the word
of God. Jesus came to this earth in love. Read your bible starting
in the New Testament. He came to show God’s love. The only time
Jesus got mad was at the religious zealots who twisted the word or
God, who lost sight of their relationship with God, and created all
sorts of rules that it was impossible to worship God.
Your anger is
offensive. You are correct in saying that our faith gives us the
strength to believe what we can not see. But it is the full
surrender of our hearts to God, Jesus, that allows us to recognize
his power in our lives. It is his peace that passes all
understanding that shows us that our God is alive. You are a prime
example that Christians are not perfect. You mean well but what you
have said is not out of love. I recently had that experience with
someone in my church.
Words are
hurtful, be careful how you use them. Yet we must forgive those that
hurt us the same way Jesus forgave us. Revelation tells us that
even after the tribulation there will be those that refuse to turn
their hearts towards God. You should not be offended by their lack
of knowledge. Offense will be the strongest in the end times. By
trying to offend him and wanting to do it again is not Christ-like.
The most powerful tool we have is the power of prayer. I will be
praying this week for both of you that your hearts will be softened,
that you will open your bible and get the revelation of God’s word,
and that our atheist friends will come to hunger and thirst for
God. In Jesus name I pray.
P.S: My son’s 5th
grade teacher told me that after studying physics even Albert
Einstein acknowledged that there must be a God. |

[Conspiracy: Mystery Mites] I
am almost positive what you are showing signs of is a chemical that
is being used by Fish and Wildlife Service. It is being sprayed at
night and has been sprayed for several weeks. It is being used to
stop the Key Deer from breeding. I understand the herd has gotten so
large (over 1000) that the deer are about to be removed from the
endangered list to the protected list.
This would cut out millions of dollars in federal funding. It would
also allow for more development on Big Pine Key. You will hear more
about this as the side affects become apparent to more people. I can
only say that this chemical was never meant to be used in this
manner and I have no information on how long or what long term side
affects you will suffer. I hope your feeling better as you read this
post. |

[Pelican
Rescue] I went fishing on Saturday because it was the last day
left on my license. I didn't catch much, a few lane snapper, a
barracuda, and a bonnet shark. I was fishing between Picnic Island
and Little Palm when a pelican came up and I named him Lucky. He
hung around my boat hoping for a free meal. I don't normally feed
animals in the wild as I think it does more harm than good, however
this bird was trailing a fishing leader so I fed him a few fish. The
hook looked to be lodged under its wing. After feeding him 2 snapper
I was his new best friend. When he lunged for the 3rd I grabbed his
beak and wrapped him in a towel.
I took the bird to the Looe Key tiki
bar and George called wildlife rescue. Maya from Big Pine arrived
about 15 minutes later and took Lucky away. |

[What did Bush do to help stop
illegal migration from Cuba] Have you been paying attention? In
the last 2 years, over 300 smugglers have been prosecuted and
imprisoned, compared to almost none in previous years. Haven't you
seen all the articles about the indictments? It took time, but the
Bush administration assigned an aggressive U.S. Attorney to the
Southern District of Florida. Furthermore, new Federal statutes
were created, making it illegal to flee from U.S. Coast Guard and
CBP vessels and resist their boarding teams on the high seas.
Homeland Security agencies like ICE, CGIS, CBP and USBP have been
taking these smugglers down left and right. The smuggling to the
Keys has dropped considerably in the last 2 years. They are now
exploring alternative smuggling routes, like Mexico, as a result of
the aggressiveness brought on during the Bush administration.
There's your answer. That's what Bush did. Let's see if Obama
continues this or reverses it all with new relaxed policies. |

[Supreme
Being] I am continually astonished that someone could visualize
a supreme being, a timeless, primal source from which all things
emanate - every living creature - every subatomic particle and every
galaxy, and then insist that such a supreme being could take sides
declaring that it favors one person or a group of persons over
another.
But then again,
I am continually surprised that someone could be impressed by Sarah
Palin. |

[Fat Cops,

[Taxes
in Monroe County] It's just too easy to try to use taxes
as the solution to our fiscal problem. It's the other side of the
balance sheet that actually has greater impact. Can we please talk
about County spending, and the excesses therein?
Some suggestions County employees:
1.) Making more than $100,000 - not
any more for now.
2.) Working 5 days a week - going to
4 for now.
3.) Many single occupied cars driving
to meetings on the county expense account - everybody gets on
the county owned buses for now.
4.) (Except for Public Safety)
Staying late and getting paid for it - not any more. No more
overtime, or comp time. Either be more productive (work
conscientiously, and no more long personal conversations - yes, I've
seen them) or leave it until the next day at 8 am. And while we're
looking at this, get to work on time, stay until you're supposed to
leave, no more extra 20 minutes for lunch. Yes I've seen that all
too.
5.) Getting your health insurance
premiums paid for by the taxpayers - not any more; actually never
again.
It’s time for the County
Administrator to sit down at one of his desks, and start writing a
genuinely serious, concrete, valid, plan to reduce county expenses.
And the big thing - be prepared to sell it to the BOCC.
Nobody wants their incomes
reduced, but increasing taxes - putting higher than necessary
financial burdens on taxpayers - without also doing due diligence to
reduce those financial burdens accomplishes nothing beneficial. |

much fanfare. Socialists hate guns because an armed population is
much harder to control. |

[From the Right] Whoever said that
too many folks do not understand Obama care is right on! Far too many folks
are dazzled by their puppy love for Mr. Obama and so they flat refuse to
actually hear and absorb what he says. He says that for his plan to work, he
must make big savings in Medicare. He does not tell us any of the methods
he will use to cut Medicare costs. The only way to drastically cut Medicare
costs is to drastically cut Medicare benefits. Simply put, he will
drastically cut back on health care to the elderly, the folks who need it
most. That’s why all the jawboning about “death panels”. If you think that
sort of thing is beyond the government, just take a look at the VA
publication "Your Life, Your Choices", it's about helping aged and/or
infirm Vets choosing death instead of pursuing life. He says that in order
for Obamacare to work, everybody must be in it. He means it! If you now are
young and healthy and so you choose to spend your bucks on something other
than health insurance, you’re going to be screwed by Obama. If you don’t
join his plan, you will be fined at least as much as the insurance would
cost. Your boss will be fined in the same way if he doesn’t provide you
health benefits. Obama told us so. Your boss will have to cut back your
hours, or lay off employees to be profitable. Mr. Obama tells us he insists
that his plan will cover an additional 30 to 50 million persons. Yet he does
not plan to increase the number of Doctors, hospitals, and other health care
infrastructure. Low fees paid by Medicare have now driven many doctors out
of practice. There is now a nationwide shortage of physicians. More
patients plus decreasing numbers of docs, plus no increase in infrastructure
is a perfect equation that equals a guarantee that every one of us will
suffer the same level of rotten care they get in Britain and Canada. Mr.
Obama promises us his plan won’t cost the vast majority of us any more
money. He foments class warfare when he says that he’ll just screw the rich
out of their money. He says that his program is a must so that we can save
money. Yet in the same breath he tells us that his program will add between
1 and 2 Trillion dollars to our deficit! The lies that he tells are
insulting to your intelligence. If you believe him, you are as stupid as he
believes you to be. He says he’s going to spend more money on more people
and pay for it by taking more money from less than 2% of our tax payers.
That 2% now pay more than 50% of all taxes. The numbers of those rich folks
is declining. Sweetheart, you and I, the little dudes, will be paying for
Obamacare in grossly higher taxes. It may not be income taxes (or it may),
but for sure it will be in brand new taxes that will hit you and I like a
freight train. Look for Value Added Taxes. That is a tax very much like a
sales tax that is added onto the price of everything during the course of
everything’s development from raw materials to the sale point. It’s very
popular in Europe where it routinely adds 20-35% to cost of everything. The
Obama true believers are being set up for bitter disappointment when they
finally realize how cruelly Obama is playing them. It’s a crying damn shame
more folks don’t know this.
(Part II) I don’t need to scour the web to
learn of everyday’s new revelations about Mr. Obama. The web is chuck full
of Obama propaganda from all the mainstream media types and from MSNBC, Time
mag, CNN, The Daily Kos, The Huffington Post, etc. etc. Hells bells, ABC,
which recently broadcast an hour long infomercial on Obamacare, has just
refused to air a 60 second commercial in opposition to Obamacare. The media
bias is breathtaking. It’s absolutely amazing how much is really going on in
Obamaland. Fortunately thedrudgereport.com is an excellent source of real
news which does not have an ax to grind, as is breibart.com. |

[Mystery Mites] I
was trimming a large yucca plant with a chain saw yesterday when my legs and
stomach got covered with invisible mites or something. I’ve been bitten by
fire ants many times and this was worse. I washed immediately and that
didn’t help. I was in so much pain that I sprayed Raid on myself, but that
didn’t help either. I took a shower and applied some industrial strength
anti-bacterial soap all over me, but that didn’t work. I took another shower
and spread rubbing alcohol all over and kept spreading it--a whole bottle.
That didn’t seem to help either, but by that time it had been about a half
hour and I think the bugs were dying out anyway.
I’ve only been in that
much pain once before. I don’t know if it was from the yucca plant or the
few pope-in-the-pulpit plants that I plucked. I’ve gotten the same type of
burns from the pope-in-the-pulpits before, but I only plucked them with my
hand this time and there was no burning on my hand. I think the mites, or
whatever, were in the saw dust I made when I trimmed the yucca. Does anyone
know for sure what these terrible creatures are and is there a fast
antidote? |

[County Tax Increase]
The lack of imagination of our County Commissioners is terrible. The only
solution they have to any problem is to raise taxes. Tax increases couldn’t

new idea from the public is dismissed without consideration. |

statement is so full of holes it’s useless. Pot is a mild hallucinogen and
makes you feel good. How many drugs do you have in your medicine cabinet
that are dangerous and make you feel good? I’ll be t you have a bunch. Oh,
they’re legal so they must be ok. Those drugs in your medicine cabinet are
dangerous and could kill you. They should be illegal—not pot. The
only thing wrong with pot is that it’s illegal. Because it’s illegal our
jails and prisons are overflowing with harmless pot smokers and sellers
costing us billions of dollars. The whole thing is based on a historic fear
of being high. |

they just make stuff up and misinterpret stuff he says to further their

[Solution to Senior
Health Care] We have all now heard the idea that if you're a senior,
you need to suck it up and just give up the idea that you need any health
care. We simply can't afford to take care of you anymore. You don't need any
medications for your high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, etc.
"Let's take care of the young people." After all, they will be ruling the
world very soon. So, a friend of mine has come up with a solution. 1) When
you turn 70, you get a gun and 6 bullets. You are allowed to shoot 3
Senators and 3 Representatives. 2) You will be sent to prison where you
will get: a. 3 meals a day. b. A roof over your head. c. All the health care
you need. New teeth, great. Need glasses, no problem. New hip, knee,
kidney, lung, heart—done. And who will be paying for all of this? Why, the
same government that just told you that you are too old for health care.
And, since you are a prisoner, you don't have to pay any income tax. I
really think we have a perfect solution. |

[Spends
some pretty long bucks on devil weed] Pot isn’t expensive. A $150 ounce
lasts me four months. You folks who nothing about pot are making the laws
that send us to jail for it. |
|
[Pot]
The person who works as a counselor to drug abusers thinks anyone who
supports legalizing and taxing marijuana is a drugged out loser. He thinks
anyone who wants to empty our prisons of pot users and dealers is a junkie
or something.
Many of us losers do
volunteer work and support our local charities already. It seem the
gentleman is so immersed in the loser business that he “knows” we are all
Bevis’s and Buttheads.
The majority of pot
users are productive. You’ll never know who we are because of our silly pot
laws. Pot is a harmless drug that gets you high. Every society has a drug
that gets you high and every society has abusers. |
|
[Healthcare] If the right wing guy
is old enough to use Medicare then he's earned it. It's his own money
finally coming back to him. This is a perfect example of how little
people understand Obamacare. Everyone will be paying into it just like we’
have been paying into Medicare. There will be very little difference. |
|

[What did Bush do to stop the flow of rafters from Cuba] Bush
didn't even slow them down. There are less of them today because Castro has
instituted stronger measures to stop them. |
|
[God] Let’s clear
a few things up for you Godless communists out there. First of all, many of
us who consider ourselves religious resent the implication that we and we
alone deal in fairy tales and sky wizards. That’s a sign of your ignorance
and narrow mindedness, not ours. Meet the millions of us who got over the
notion a long time ago that God only lives in the temple, the mosque, the
church, the synagogue and the Bible. We of the “disorganized religions” are
everywhere. Faith dares the soul to go beyond what the eyes can see. I
assume you have a soul, so even you atheists are capable of this thing we
call faith. It seems to me that if you consider yourself an atheist, your
conception of time and history goes something like this: In the beginning
there was nothing and nothing happened to nothing and then nothing magically
exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything
magically rearranged itself for no reason whatsoever into self-replicating
bits which then turned into dinosaurs. I call that the biggest fairy tale of
them all. One that takes more faith than any religious person I’ve ever met
has going for them. Clearly, anti-religious
people are as bad as fundamentalists in their fashionable left wing
absolutism. By all means, let
me know if anything I say offends you, I may want to offend you again later. |
|

[School Board] I was out of town last week and our hosts were fuming
about their school board. We agreed that all school boards are messed up in
all school districts. They are all filled with bubbas and phonies. |
|
[Legalizing
Marijuana] Let's
consider the serious drug we're discussing.
Give me a break. If anyone thinks
pot is a serious drug they’re the ones with the problem. The writer
must deal with addictive people who
are screwed up to begin with. Such extreme statements could only come from a
drug counselor or religious nut. |

[Fat Cops, Armed forces too] I would say your post is a little over
the top. You are talking about the finest fighting force on planet Earth.
The world is laughing at us? Who exactly are the countries doing the
laughing? Where did you get this little priceless piece of info? So many
people are manufacturing facts to fit the twisted ideology of their mind. |
|
[Turtle cam] The
person who says they were there as a good Samaritan and trying to help the
turtle hatchlings may have had good intentions. However, you had neither
authority nor training for your attempted mission. You had no permits to be
there, whether good intentioned or not. You showed up with
unapproved flashlights which disorient whatever turtles were there.
Predators are a sad part
of the natural process. If someone other than FWC or any other permitted
organization such a Save a Turtle told you where to go, and gave permission,
the bottom line is they had no authority either. Your anger at the property
owner is terribly misguided. They are liable when you are on their
property, and no one has the authority to give you permission to come on
one's private property than the property owner. If there was an officer on
the property, which you say there was, you should have had the sense to
leave. They do not have to explain their actions to you in the midst of an
event regarding a protected, threatened or endangered species. For them to
disclose their plan to you could further compromise the creature(s)
involved.
I do understand that it
was an upsetting situation for you, but you need to take a step back with
your anger and understand that nature runs its course, and this has been
going on for 250 million years. If you want to become involved in these
types of situations, there is always a call for volunteers. Please get some
training and do it the right way. |
|
[Legalize
pot and tax it] Someone wrote that
they can’t tax it because anyone can grow it; not like alcohol that has to
be manufactured. Alcohol wasn’t always taxed and it wasn’t always legal.
Alcohol used to be illegal just like pot is. That didn’t stop anyone from
distilling it themselves—and some made pretty good stuff. Many made it in
their bathtubs. people have been distilling liquor for hundreds of years and
maybe longer. Your argument was ignorant. |
|
(?)Thanks so much. You
are hilarious! Hope this ad works! |

[Acevedo] I sure would hate to have a jury of my peers in Key West.
The case against Acevedo was weak, not enough evidence presented to convict
on any of the charges. The jury was not impartial and there was too much
media coverage. He wouldn't have been convicted anywhere else with the
evidence presented in court. Scary day for our justice system. |
|
When
talking about illegal aliens don't forget that the reason they come
here is because too many of our amazingly fabulous entrepreneur businessmen,
to whom we owe everything, have been hiring them like crazy in order to
squeeze some more bucks out of the system. |
|
[People
smoke pot because it being against the law gives them a thrill] I've
heard some funny arguments against pot, but that one is dumb. Almost
as foolish at the other poster who said it leads to harder drugs. Those are
two very old fashioned ideas. That’s like saying beer leads to heroin use
because all junkies have tried beer. Or all cigarettes lead to heroin
because all junkies smoke cigarettes (which they do).
I've seen some of the most stupid arguments
on legalizing pot on the CT than anywhere else. Do the Keys have the
concession on stupid? |
|
[Fishing License]
It's pretty sad when you have to have
a license to fish off
a bridge. That was food in our mouths with a little fun involved. I'll tell
the kids what they have to look forward to. |

[Caskets]
When the flea market’s owner noticed Eggleston was selling caskets, he
pulled the plug on the booth.
“We
studied a lot of flea markets before we opened this one and we didn’t see
anyone selling caskets at any other flea market,” Eggleston, who builds
caskets in the back yard of his Rock Hill home, said he was approached by
several interested people while manning his booth at the flea market.
“I’m
trying to help anybody I can,” he said, noting his caskets cost thousands of
dollars less than the most basic model offered by funeral homes.
He
said a flea market seemed like a logical place to market his wooden boxes,
which are aimed at older people on fixed incomes.
Shoppers at the market had complained, Pettus said, adding that the sight of
caskets forces onlookers to think about death.
“It
is a difficult subject,” he said. “We’re all going to die. We just don’t
want to be promoting it at the market.”
Eggleston was given $100 for his trouble, double what he paid for the two
booths his casket display had occupied at the market. |

[Fat
Cop, I don't care what a cop looks like?]
It is nearly impossible to outrun either a bullet or the radio. Next,
there are very few fat soldiers, and those individuals are on a mandated
weight program. The poster was right about the world laughing, but at him
not America. |

[Kennedy
Bad] As soon as cancer was found we noticed the immediate attempt at the
sainthood of old Teddy by the main stream media. They are saying what a
"great American" he is. I say, let's get a couple things clear and not twist
the facts to change the real history. He was caught cheating at Harvard
when he attended it. He was expelled twice, once for cheating on a test, and
once for paying a classmate to cheat for him.
While expelled, Kennedy enlisted in the
Army, but mistakenly signed up for four years instead of two. Oops, the man
can't count to four. His father, Joseph P. Kennedy, former U.S. Ambassador
to England (a step up from bootlegging liquor into the US from Canada during
prohibition), pulled the necessary strings to have his enlistment shortened
to two years, and to ensure that he served in Europe, not Korea, where a war
was raging. No preferential treatment for him like "he" charged President
Bush received.
Kennedy was assigned to Paris , never
advanced beyond the rank of Private, and returned to Harvard upon being
discharged. Imagine a person of his "education" NEVER advancing past the
rank of Private.
While attending law school at the University
of Virginia, he was cited for reckless driving four times, including once
when he was clocked driving 90 miles per hour in a residential neighborhood
with his headlights off after dark. Yet his Virginia driver's license was
never revoked. Coincidentally, he passed the bar exam in 1959, amazing!!!
In 1964, he was seriously injured in a plane
crash, and hospitalized for several months. Test results done by the
hospital at the time he was admitted had shown he was legally intoxicated.
The results of those tests remained a "state secret" until in the 1980's
when the report was unsealed. Didn't hear about that from the unbiased
media, did we.
On July 19, 1969, Kennedy attended a party
on Chappaquiddick Island in Massachusetts ... At about 11:00 PM, he borrowed
his chauffeur's keys to his Oldsmobile limousine, and offered to give a ride
home to Mary Jo Kopechne, a campaign worker. Leaving the island via an unlit
bridge with no guard rail, Kennedy steered the car off the bridge, flipped,
and into Poucha Pond.
He swam to shore and walked back to the
party, after passing several houses and a fire station. Then two friends
returned with him to the scene of the accident. According to their later
testimony, they told him what he already knew, that he was required by law
to immediately report the accident to the authorities. Instead Kennedy made
his way to his hotel, called his lawyer, and went to sleep. Kennedy called
the police the next morning and by then the wreck had already been
discovered. Before dying, Kopechne had scratched at the upholstered floor
above her head in the upside-down car. The Kennedy family began "calling in
favors", ensuring that any inquiry would be contained. Her corpse was
whisked out-of-state to her family, before an autopsy could be conducted.
Further details are uncertain, but after the accident Kennedy says he
repeatedly dove under the water trying to rescue Kopechne, and he didn't
call police because he was in a state of shock. It is widely assumed Kennedy
was drunk, and he held off calling police in hopes that his family could fix
the problem overnight. Since the accident, Kennedy's "political enemies"
have referred to him as the distinguished Senator from Chappaquiddick. He
pled guilty to leaving the scene of an accident, and was given a suspended
sentence of two months. Kopechne's family received a small payout from the
Kennedy's insurance policy, and never sued. There was later an effort to
have her body exhumed and autopsied, but her family successfully fought
against this in court, and Kennedy's family paid their attorney's bills....a
"token of friendship"?
Kennedy has held his Senate seat for more
than forty years, but considering his longevity, his accomplishments seem
scant. He authored or argued for legislation that ensured a variety of civil
rights, increased the minimum wage in 1981, made access to health care
easier for the indigent, and funded Meals on Wheels for fixed-income seniors
and is widely held as the "standard-bearer for liberalism." In his very
first Senate roll, he was the floor manager for the bill that turned U.S.
immigration policy upside down and opened the floodgate for immigrants from
third world countries.
Since that time, he has been the prime
instigator and author of every expansion of and increase in immigration, up
to and including the latest attempt to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. Not
to mention the Pious grilling he gave the last two Supreme Court Nominees,
as if he were the standard bearer for the nation in matters of rights. What
a pompous ass.
He is known around Washington as a public
drunk, loud, boisterous and very disrespectful to women. JERK is a better
description than "great American".
The spin
doctor's will make this A**hole and killer a hero -- how quickly the
American public forgets what his real legacy. |

develop a Construction Technologies Program at KWHS and create a Habitat for
Humanity Brush with Kindness program in Key West.
The High School will provide the teachers, curriculum and students. Habitat
will provide tools, supplies and the community emergency repair projects on
which the students will work in the coming year.
To inspire
the local construction community to get involved and help make this program
a success for our youth with their hands-on experience and mentor
capabilities, we have invited over 120 contractors, electricians, plumbers
and painters to join us for a complimentary breakfast, provided by the
Culinary Arts program of the Key West High School. The breakfast will be on
Thursday, September 10th at 8:30 am at the Key West high School
Cafeteria.
If someone
from your organization would like to be present, we welcome you to contact

[Jim Hendrick] Florida Keys
Community College President Jill Landesberg-Boyle fired attorney Jim
Hendrick. Hendrick has been providing his services free, as part of a felony
sentence, handed down in February 2007 for conspiracy, witness-tampering and
obstruction of justice.
Hendrick is the Grand Poobah of the bubba system in Key West, and the FKCC
is one of the last vestiges of corruption left in our community. College
President Jill Landesberg-Boyle has been systematically cleaning up the
corruption and the bubbas there are being driven out like rats scurrying off
the ship. Hendrick was quoted in the Key West Citizen, saying "I’ll
look forward to returning to the campus when she is gone, or when the mood
changes.”
Sounds like Jill Landesberg-Boyle has been fingered for removal by the
bubbas before she can clean up the college and spoil all the fun. Is it too
early to talk about her replacement as President of the College? Could
former school superintendent Randy Acevedo be next in line for the job?
Stay tuned. |

battery. |

[From the Right]
Don’t you love the freedom of the internet? Don’t you treasure having the
ability to search for knowledge and to express yourself without interference
from Big Brother? Don’t you love not having your thoughts ripped up or
rejected by editors? Enjoy it while you can. I’ll bet you’ve never heard of
Senate Bill of S.773, AKA the Rockefeller-Snowe Cyber security Bill. This
proposed legislation gives the President the authority to seize control of
private-sector networks during a so-called cyber-security emergency. The
President would decide what constitutes a “cyber security emergency”. This
bill is sponsored by a very liberal Democrat, Rockefeller, and a very
liberal Republican, Olympia Snowe. This ultra liberal administration is not
even a year old, yet they are setting records attempting to bulldoze freedom
after freedom. The internet has become the single most effective means of
mass communication in the history of man, and our powers for the moment seek
to control it. What's next, freedom of the press, freedom of speech? The
notion of this administration or any administration having the unbridled
power to shut it down is scary beyond anything that Hollywood can conjure.

Randy Acevedo Guilty on all three
felony charges. Justice has been served! From the KW Citizen:
The three counts stemmed from Acevedo: giving Reitzel a faked letter
justifying one of his wife’s purchases after Reitzel confronted him about
it; not immediately reporting his wife when Reitzel told him about hundreds
of other questionable purchases; and signing a document saying there were no
suspicions of fraud in the 2007- 08 audit. |

BREAKING NEWS: ACEVEDO FOUND
GUILTY
Suspended Schools Superintendent
Randy Acevedo was found guilty on
three third-degree felony counts of
official misconduct and will be

He faces a maximum of 15 years in

A jury of four women and two men
rendered its verdict at 3 p.m.,
after 3 and a half hours in
deliberations.
The jury began deliberating at
11:30 a.m., after Assistant State
Attorney Mark Wilson and defense
attorney Catherine Vogel gave their
closing arguments in the case.
His wife, Monique, was not among the
family members in court today.
Acevedo was convicted for trying to
cover up her alleged theft of school
funds.

County
Commission is useless. In another effort by our governing board we the
citizens of the Unincorporated Monroe County have been screwed again. It
seems that the commission has refiled an appeal to retry the Carter
downstairs enclosure issue, after being ruled against in a court of law. I
felt that the judges arguments were well stated and basically the county
does not know what it is doing. How much money is this issue costing us the
taxpayers? Then they go and allow Ocean Reef clemency for $73,000 worth of
fees using some excuse of “not using a lot of services that the county
provides” as a reason. Hello the money should have been applied to our
sewer issue. Any money the county can raise toward the sewers should be
persued. Is the county going to cut me a break when it is time for
unincorporated Monroe County to finally sewer my neighborhood? I seriously
doubt it. My power is in my vote. Bring on the next election. |

Marathon High School was burglarized. The Sheriff’s office is
investigating. This must be some kind of joke. Only one school has
been burglarized. Not like the 60 plus lower units that were stolen.
They caught one thief. Only one? Did that one thief steal all the
other lower units? I don’t think so. Only $10,000.00 worth of
electronic equipment stolen. Maybe the thief just wanted his share
of the take from Monique the thief. The thief was only taking back
what he had already paid for with his/her taxes. Could the
electronics have been stolen so that equipment would not show back
up as evidence against the rotten Avocado? Why would you need an
alarm? Sounds like an inside job that was done from the outside.
What was on those video and digital cameras that somebody didn’t
want you to see? Maybe make, model and serial numbers. |

Dear Ed; The following story was sent to me as I am a believer in
the power of prayer and I wanted to share with those who also
believe in the power of prayer. Feel free to use my email address.
A girl raped..
A girl went to a party and she ended up staying longer than planned,
and had to walk home alone. She was'nt afraid because it was a small
town and she lived only a few blocks away. As she walked along
under the tall elm trees, Diane asked God to keep her safe from harm
and danger. When she reached the alley, which was a short cut to
her house, she decided to take it. However, halfway down the alley
she noticed a man standing at the end as though he were waiting for
her.
She became uneasy and began to pray, asking for God's protection.
Instantly a comforting feeling of quietness and security wrapped
round her, she felt as though someone was walking with her.
When she reached the end of the alley, she walked right past the man
and arrived home safely.
The following day, she read in the newspaper that a young girl had
been raped in the same alley just twenty minutes after she had been
there.
Feeling overwhelmed by this tragedy and the fact that it could have
been her, she begain to weep.
Thanking the Lord for her safety and to help this young woman, she
decided to go to the police station. She felt she could recognize
the man, so she told them her story. The police asked her if she
would be willing to look at a lineup to see if she could identify
him. She agreed and immediately pointed out the man she had seen in
the alley the night before.
When the man was told he had been identified, he immediately broke
down and confessed. The officer thanked Diane for her bravery and
asked if there was anything they could do for her.
She asked if they would ask the man one question. Diane was curious
as to why he had not attacked her. When the policman asked him, he
answered, "Because she wasn't alone, she had two tall men walking
on either side of her".
Amazingly, whether you believe or not, you're never alone. Did you
know that 98% of teenagers will not stand up for God?
God is always there in your heart and loves you no matter what.
"If you deny me in front of your friends, I shall deny you in front
of my Father".
STAND UP FOR HIM

Is this true? Are we finally a time when we don't see everything in
terms of potential racial insult?
I'm not sure. Mostly because between the current "political correctness"
craze (and crazies), and all races still pointing fingers at all races
other than their own, all we've established is a leveling point, like a
bowl full of liquids with different viscosities.
Maybe it's a sign of the times, a good sign, that so many people in
the process of getting this doll on shelves -- from the toy designer to
the person stocking the shelves -- didn't notice that the doll could be
taken as a racial insult? As in, they never use the slur, never think
about the slur, didn't notice that it could be taken that way?

Gun History
After reading the following historical facts, read the part
about Switzerland twice.
A LITTLE GUN HISTORY
In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. From 1929 to 1953, about
20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and
exterminated.

It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia were forced by a new
law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own
Government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than $500 million
dollars. The first year results are now in:
List of 7 items:
Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent.
Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent.
Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)!
In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300
percent. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned them in, the
criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns!
While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed
robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12
months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed.
There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults of the
ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain how public safety
has decreased, after such monumental effort, and expense was expended in
successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The
Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it.
You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hear politicians
disseminating this information.
Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes,

this history lesson.
With guns, we are CITIZENS.
Without them, we are SUBJECTS.

[Church and State] I am an
atheist as well and I somehow manage to live a rich and full life. I
have been married for decades and all of my kids turned out very
well thank you. I don’t believe that I am being punished in any way
by a ‘magical sky being’ and I am looking forward to each day. I
take responsibility for my own actions and am not burdened or
tormented by the trials of life today as something to be suffered
through in the hopes of a better afterlife so your ‘judgment day’
has little meaning to me. I don’t need that threat to be a good
person every day of my life. I have known many Christians though who
do suffer the very fates you automatically attribute to atheists of
being sour, divorced, and with their kids in jail. It is exactly
comments like this and the other one of ‘get off my planet’ that
makes it so important to have protections from religious zealots
such as the ones here that are intolerant of other’s belief’s. If
not, at the current population growth prediction rates for America,
you will understand why this separation is critical as the majority
of the population will be of the Muslim religion in the not so
distant future. Then your tune will change as you cry for freedom of
religion and separation of Church from State. Soon you too will
understand why this is important as you begin to feel the prejudices
and intolerance from a dominate belief system that is different from
your own as those of us who do not believe in your Christian God
have had to suffer.
This is a great country where the
majority religion is not supposed to rule over others. This
important separation has slowly been eroded into our government over
the years unfortunately so hold on for the next turn then which will
be to Sharia Law. For instance we did not have a ‘pledge of
allegiance’ for our first hundred years. It was written after the
Civil War, hence the stress on ONE Nation, and INDIVISIBLE. The
“under God” part of the Pledge of Allegiance was not added until
1954 and requiring that part to be sworn to is in direct violation
of the First Amendment. Catholic groups just started adding it in
when they said the pledge and finally won a petition with Congress
to have it added. But with our current administration voted in
being more communist/socialist, who knows what will happen to it and
other freedoms that our forefathers fought so hard to give us next.
They well understood the dangers of a theocracy.
I have found it interesting how
religion seems more to be a function of geography than anything
else. Those born and raised in India are not surprisingly, Hindu. In
Japan it is probably Buddhist. In the West Christian, and so on.
Ultimately our beliefs are passed on to us through conditioning by
our parents, with very few conversions to other major systems
(Christian to Muslim or Hinduism to Judaism for example). |

Obamacare, I read thos posts yesterday about the only people who like the
idea is non working trash. Let me tell you, I use my VA allot which I
earned. But I own a small construction company which mostly is myself and a
helper or sometimes two. We do small jobs, Bath remodels ect. I have worked
every day of my life. Allot of holidays and weekends. I checked into
healthcare for just myself, I am single and the cheepest I found was 2800.00
a month. Very hard to manage especially dealing with folks around here.
Everybody wants a deal,When I say it costs 1000.00 they say 700.00. So on
good weeks which I haven't one in quite awhile, is 1000.00 minus a couple
hundred for labor and 50 to 60 in fuel. And never mind the liability
insurance and the corporation dues. There takeing on average of 30% for
taxes. Thats not even mentioning living expenses. Would someone please
tell me where the hell 2800.00 is coming from. So I use my VA. And yes I
earned it as ever Man and Woman who has ever served to keep us safe. I'm not
a bum or a deadbeat. I pay taxes and I vote. And no I dont do drugs or
employ anyone who does. I would like to know who some of you are, I think
your mostly retired or work for the state because I don't know of many jobs
around here that even offer insurance. More company's dont than do. Think
abot that poster yesterday that talks about the grocery store hireing kids
and keeping the full time folks to 35 hours. Home Depot has everybody but
management on part time so they don't have to offer insurance. So does
K-mart. So what the hell are you talking about. |

|
[Who
ever said anything about God needing our support? What conceit! ] I also
found funny the one about being "partners with God". Does that make them
"co-Gods"? |
I read this in the
keysnet.com
"A sentencing hearing for Randy Acevedo is scheduled for Sept. 17.
"I'm not sure that he'll serve jail time," Ward said, adding that he
will confer with Wilson before commenting further on whether the state would
seek a harsh penalty."
Ok... now my questions is we as a county spend all this time and money to
prosecute scum like Acevedo and now our state attorney is not sure he will
do time? What kind of BULLSHIT is that. You or I would be spending time in
jail for shoplifting a $6.49 bottle of wine. And if the driver of a bank
heist claimed he didn't know they were robbing the bank, would he get off
without doing time? Absolutely not! Randy Acevedo took our trust, our money
and with the way he dealt out his punitive measures against those who
opposed his thievery he deserves, at the very least, jail time.
What kind of message does this statement send to county residents who
have paid and continue to pay for the Acevedo corruption. Just because they
are Bubba's friends and are themselves has-been Bubba's does not mean they
don't do jail time. Acevedo is a common con-man criminal. If you can't do
the crime don't do the time. Send his big fat ass to jail. The state had
better be seeking a harsh penalty because we county residents have a harsh
reality to face paying for all this. If Acevedo doesn't do jail time then
Ward and Wilson are not doing their JOB!
Karma is a bitch Randy, I guess you now get to reap what you sowed!
The Florida Department of Corrections is doing the pre-sentence
investigation - call them and have your voices heard 292-6742 Tell them
Randy needs to go to JAIL.
Randy also needs to be investigated for his campaign finance fraud. |

BAROMETER
BLOWS IT, AGAIN
Dear Steve Estes,
sole journalist, editor and publisher of the Barometer "newspaper", you
blew it again when it came to No Name Key.
In today's paper
you stated that "a 1951 resolution authorizing
the same thing for Keys Energy notwithstanding because that resolution
can be changed on a majority vote of the BOCC". That is
Not Quite Correct. Sure the BOCC can rescind that county resolution,
but that doesn't matter as the STATE HAS ALREADY AUTHORIZED THIS USE FOR
KEYS ENERGY (via House Bill 1629), and the BOCC Can't change or rescind
State Law!
I pointed this out
to you last week, but as you evidentially chose not to review that Law
for yourself, here is the relevant text for you: "“the
Utility Board of the City of Key West, Florida shall have full,
complete and exclusive power and right to manage, operate, maintain,
control, extend, extend beyond the limits of the City of Key West,
Florida, in Monroe County, Florida". A later dated House
Bill officially updated the name change as also doing business as "Keys
Energy".
Further, that House Bill, and the Municipalities Section of Florida
State Chapter 166.411 gave Keys Energy Eminent Domain over, I quote "Over
railroads, traction and streetcar lines, telephone and telegraph lines,
all public and private streets and highways, drainage districts,
bridge districts, school districts, or any other public or
private lands whatsoever necessary."
So there you have Mr. Estes, it's all in the Law, and it can't be any
clearer: Keys Energy ALREADY HAS permission to use the right-of-way,
the roads, and the bridge.
The County interfered with the process, shut it down, in the late 90's
by denying (then) City Electric use of the bridge. Since then, the
State of Florida passed HB 1629 in 1999, which GAVE KEYS ENERGY
PERMISSION TO USE THE BRIDGE regardless of what the County said.
As I understand it, all Keys Energy wants to know is this: Is the County
is going to interfere (as they did in the late 90's).
-So the only question regarding electricity needing addressing is this:
Is the County going to file a court motion, using the taxpayer dollars,
to attempt to interfere with that STATE LAW and our legal right to have
electricity?
Mayor Neugent was absolutely correct when he said that "scarified land
do not require mitigation", though you sure tried to spin that one. For
the record: on No Name Key the rights-of-way are scarified (heck the
County Brushmasters just finished scarifying them again last week!); but
should there be ANY question on this whatsoever, they can run the sewer
pipes and the poles right down the middle of the damn street!.. I'll
start digging for them right now!
Mr. Estes, seriously, this bias must stop. As
I do not own my own newspaper in which to publish my personal take/slant
on important issues, as you do, I will address your mistakes and
misstatements about No Name Key in the only public forum available to
me, this coconut telegraph.... and I'll do it each and every week if
that's what it takes.

[Fat Cop] I think running from a fat cop will get you shot
quicker! |
I'm bothered
by the fact that there is no mention anywhere about the Kopechne's loss of
their daughter, while all this nauseating praise is being heaped on Kennedy.
I understand there is a time to let up, I get that, I really do, but with
the high level of press coverage, plus all the tributes, accolades,
testimonials, appreciation, honoring, celebration, commemoration,
commendations, approvals, applause, laudation, extolment, exaltation,
glorification, and garlands- it seems to me that there might just be a
little mention of the poor girl who lost her life in service of this, the
man she adored, when he threw her under the bus. Or should I say the black
Olds. Now I don't want to get into the vague details of this, only he knew
what happened. But we do know he ran off afoot "walking, trotting,
staggering, jogging", past inhabited homes to his apartment, to make an
emergency call to; not the cops, but his attendant attorney friends to
perform CPR on his political career. But only after he took a nice nap for
himself. Now, I don't care if he was truly sorry or whatever, I'm sure he
was. But this action clearly illustrated his freedom from the heavy stone of
character.
But what really frosts me, is the fact that if this were a villainous
republican, his career would have ended with an incident like this. Even if
it didn't, there would be no censorship of critical commentary, as there
surely is in this case. And there sure as hell wouldn't be concern over "bad
taste" or practice of forbearance, and adherence to grace and graciousness.
Nor would there be any consideration granted, or delicate concern offered up
to his family, either. There would be, if anything, a bunch of high fiving
monkeys jumping up and down and spitting on the man's memory. You know it- I
know it, so who're we bullshittin'? |

Be careful what you ask for. There are
missionaries everywhere!] I thought we eradicated that disease /
fungus / perversion / destroyers of cultures / freaking weirdo's !? |
[People against Obamacare are those
that don’t pay for health insurance] That statement is absolutely
untrue, worse it’s silly. I’m on Medicare and I still pay pretty big
bucks for supplemental insurance. Before Medicare I paid plenty for
health care insurance at the same time I was paying plenty in taxes
for Medicare. I know folks who get health care benefits from
employers and I know folks who have chosen not to have health care
insurance (I think that’s stupid, but it’s their choice). I now
people who pay big bucks for family health care insurance. I know
folks who are Dems, Reps, and Independents. All of the above are
solidly against Obamacare. They all agree that we need to find ways
to bring down the cost of health care. They all agree that Obama
care will pull down the quality of our current care and will cost us
more both individually and as a nation. All of these folks are dead
set against Obamacare. As a nation, we just can’t afford to spend
anymore money that we don’t now have. Cripes, we’re spending money
that our kids kids haven’t yet earned! Our debt is an out of control
cancer that is killing us. Forget about who is for it or who is
against it, just examine it and think about it. Ask yourself what
would happen if you were to deal with your own finances and debt the
way our government is dealing with it’s finances and debt. You know
for sure that you would either be bankrupt or in jail. Health care
is far too important to subject it to political party loyalties.
It’s just too important and way too dangerous. We’ve got to kill
Obamacare before it kills us. It won’t be long before we can’t pay
on our debt. When that happens, who is gonna say: “Ooops, I goofed,
Sorry!” Those are words that freaking politicos never utter.

What a crock. So the racoons eating the turtles are part
of the "circle of life" ? How did these dimwits get their jobs? How
about all the fishing gear and line and trash that kills these animals
at sea? Is that part of the circle of life? I think we need to give
those turtles extra consideration when it comes to their reproduction to
offset the destruction we are visiting upon them in their natural habit
before they are gone. Any other point of view is pure stupidity.

The chatter about Medicare is getting pretty
goofy. Medicare is socialized medicine, but it’s not socialized medicine
for everybody, only old farts and some disabled folks get any benefit
from it. It’s a piss poor idea that a lot folks love because they think
it’s free. The deal is that everybody pays into it for decades and
decades, but you don’t get to take anything out of it until you become a
old fart. If you don’t live long enough to be an old fart, all the money
that you’ve paid in is lost to your survivors. All of your paid in money
is siezed by the government. It’s the same stinking way with Social
Security. What that means is that a whole lot of folks are paying a
whole lot of money so that just a few old folks can have expensive
health care. It’s just about the same deal with all socialized medicine.
Usually young folks don’t need much medical care; old farts need a lot,
that’s why you’ve got to be an old fart before you’re able to collect.
While you pay in for most of your life, the system works best when you
die fairly young. That’s the only way it can work. Nobody in their right
mind would stand for paying all the taxes for so many years necessary
to fund care for everybody. Even with all of that, Medicare is quickly
going broke. It costs money to provide medical care, lots of money.
There is no such thing as free care. In order to pay for Medicare and
all of the other costs of government, the Government must take money
from you and I. The notion that taxing the rich bastards to pay for
National Health care is bullshit. Their taxes already pay for more than
50% of all government spending. Their just aren't enough rich bastards
now to foot the bill, and their numbers are dwindling. The poor folks
and middle class will have to pay and pay big. And why shouldn’t
everybody pay for the service they get. The poor and middle class get
the exact same benefit from roads, schools, hospitals, national
security, public safety, etc. as do the rich. Many of them don’t pay a
freaking cent in taxes. Why in the hell should anybody, rich or poor,
feel that they deserve a free tax ride! Poor and middle class should be
paying taxes too. If we are going to have Socialized medicine, we’ll
have to cut way back on the health care delivered to old farts.
Translation: Rationing. Translation: denial of care so that money can
be saved. Under pain of law, everybody will have to join. Everybody will
have to pay. Everybody will have to ante up big bucks in higher taxes.
If you don’t join, you’ll be fined. If your boss refuses to fund health
care benefits, he’ll be fined. That will lead to his cutting back on the
number of folks he employs, and your wages will decline. By that I mean
both your rate and your take home. That’s because it’s going to cost him
more in fees and taxes to keep you on the payroll, and you will have to
pay your share in payroll taxes. There will be fewer jobs and wages will
be lower. If you think that you can work off the books, forget it,
they’ll nail you anyway, they’ll have to in order to make it work. You
can say that I’m full of crap, but that is exactly what has happened in
Canada and Britain, and they get crappy care. The only way out of this
maze is to have some real cost cutting, and for folks to start worrying
about taking care of themselves. The current health care push has damn
little to do with health care, you can tell that’s true because they
have now changed the name to Health Insurance Reform. Our current
system costs too much to access, but it works and works good. Our
current leaders are hell bent on drastically changing everything
American to fit their socialist idea of a pure socialist society. That
is all real grown up no bullshit straight talk. Cognitive Dissonance;
donkey hockey.

I knew I was right about computer monitors. The old
CRT 21" Hitachi Professional monitor I have been using for the last 12
years died! So looking at every LCD or LED 26" monitor or TV/Monitor, I
came to realize how the public has been duped into thinking these New
Generation TV's and Computer Monitors are the best thing since sliced
bread. But are they? No they are NOT! The picture quality compared to a
good CRT sucks, as does the features and tools for doing graphics. It is
a damn shame the PUBIC are so brainwashed these days. But of course when
there are no alternatives.................suffer severely!

School districts have been so corrupt for so
many years, that this super, or anyone else brought up in this environment
doesn't think about it at all. Why would they? Standard operating
procedure, and perfectly acceptable.
/In their minds. /
It has been in our face, under our nose, we keep paying for it and it
will keep happening. School policy, same as any other union, is stated thus;
until someone rocks the boat- take what you need, nobody cares.
But if it becomes a public issue, you'll be sacrificed. Not for
stealing/- but for being caught./ I doubt Acevedo is the first super
to pilfer from this district. OK, maybe he over-reached. Of course,
that's subjective.
What frustrates me are those of us who keep buying the charade. We have
an incident, then we get the sacrificial lamb. Acevedo may get slaughtered,
satisfying the community, nothing really changes because once the dust
settles, it's business as usual. Anyone employed by the district who recoils
at the corruption, is campaigned against (at work) until they're destroyed.
Meaning those who don't participate in the carnage are a perceived threat.
There's no difference anywhere in the country. The public school system
is mostly what's wrong with the U.S.. It has been the refuge and repository
for socialists since before the second World War, and the fruits of their
efforts have finally paid off. Profoundly. Public education is government
owned and operated, and ideologues of various stripes work continuously to
effect social engineering by controlling curricula, text books etc.
Therefore, public education is socialism.
Socialism is itself a distillation of corruption. And it is woven so
blatantly into the curriculum, that it is absolutely stunning. The public
school system is an assembly line, extruding seemingly genetically altered
automatons in epic numbers, entrenched by compulsory indoctrination in an
Alternative Reality; the collapsing tent, where instead of gaining ground,
all effort is devoted to propping it up- at an ever exponentially increasing
cost. Critical and independent thinking is virtually extinguished. It's why
we have gargantuan new schools built in the face of diminishing attendance.
It is why the mafia is running Washington. It's why American history is
being so easily revised. It has created the bizarro reverso world where it's
as though FDR created the universe, Bill Clinton discovered America, and
Adam Smith is a quaint mythological figure.
The point is the entire system needs to be disassembled. The only hope a
parent has is to home school the people they are responsible for, the ones
they bring into this world, instead of turning them over to socialist
institutions.
But I can't join up and pile on with locals even for the bonding, or good
feelings of camaraderie and superiority, or even to enrich and further the
interests of the community and all concerned by cathartically throwing
stones at one poor ignoramus carrying out his genetic imperative. Although
I'm not exactly seeing him as a stouthearted, undaunted, gutsy, heroic
champion for his wife. Cmon Randy, pull her out of the meat grinder, no
matter what your lawyers say. "Take me boys, I made her do it... let 'er
go". |
Most beautiful Senior Moment Ever!!!
Gotta read this one, great!
Here's a quote from a government employee
who witnessed a recent
interaction between an elderly woman and an
antiwar protester in a
Metro station in DC.
There were protesters on the train platform
handing out pamphlets on
the evils of America. I politely declined
to take one.
An elderly woman was behind me getting off
the escalator and a young
(20-ish) female protester offered her a
pamphlet, which she politely
declined.
The young protester put her hand on the old
woman's shoulder as a
gesture of friendship and in a very soft
voice said, 'Lady, don't you
care about the children of Iraq?'
The old woman looked up at her and said,
'Honey, my father died in
France during World War II, I lost my
husband in Korea, and a son in
Vietnam.
All three died so you could have the right
to stand here and bad mouth
our country.
If you touch me again, I'll stick this
umbrella up your ass and open
it.'

[Loggerhead
Turtle Cam]
Last night my family happened to be watching the live feed of a turtle
nest on Big Pine. There were around 10 hatchlings in the nest when, on
camera, a raccoon came to feast on the babies at around 8:45pm. I
called the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission; they said
they would look into it. I then called The Turtle Hospital, who was very
concerned. Since I live close by and had a good idea where the nest was
I drove down Long Beach Rd, at which time the Turtle Hospital called and
gave me a general Idea where to find the nest so I could keep the
raccoons away until they could get someone there to watch it. I was met
by a vet who was called out but he had to leave so I agreed to watch
over it. Then a FWC officer showed up. Apparently she watches the house
for the owner, she told us that the turtles being eaten were part of
"the circle of life". I asked her if they were endangered, she said no
(she needs to tell NOAA and other sources as they still list them as
endangered). She wanted to know if we were going to stay, I said we
would stay as long as needed. She then talked to the property owner on
the phone. There seemed to be concern over us being there. So we asked
if she was going to stay and the officer said she could not tell us that
information. At that point I felt that our good efforts to help the
turtles were unappreciated and unwanted.
Hopefully the turtles
that do make it will return to a beach further up the road where
peoples’ efforts to help them might be appreciated. Kudos to the Turtle
Hospital and the Veterinarian "D" . To the other people involved I hope
you don't ever need help in "the Circle of Life".

[Reduced
Hours] I understand that our local grocery store has more
''student''
workers from
other countries coming to help out again. It's kind of funny that they
are cutting their employees’ hours not just overtime hours. The hours
they need to live and survive here. Full time employees are not allowed
to work more than 35 hours a week and some part time employees are not
getting any hours. If business is slow that is a way for the
store to get by, but how do the employees pay their bills and eat? They
need to give the local workers the hours. I buy as little as possible
from either of the two chain stores. Mostly because of how they treat
people. |
|
[Tax Pot] Keep it
illegal. If you legalize and tax it, it will cost more. I like my
cheap pot! President George Washington said "Sow it everywhere." They
made it illegal because of Mexican immigrants smoking the dope. It was a
law devised against Mexicans. All of our drug laws are racist laws. We
outlawed cocaine because it made black men rape white women and we made
opium illegal because of the Chinese.
Pot smokers are some of
the most successful people I know. They are doctors, lawyers, business
owners, teachers and vets. It's not the drugs, it’s the person. The drug
only corrupts those that are already corrupt. If you look at those on
crack they would still be f***ed up if they were not on crack. Because
they are just f***ed up individuals to start. Why do you think they
tried crack to begin with? They were f***ed before they used it. They
may have just been able to hide it better. Addicts are those trying to
escape or hide from something. Talk to an addict and chances are they
have a story to tell. I don't blame the addict; I blame parents and
inept social workers at the DCS(?). |
|
Medicare
is okay because those who oppose change know that trying to get rid of
existing socialized health care in this country-- Medicare, Medicaid and
the VA, would lose any remaining support they have. So we now get to
hear from people who oppose a national health care plan who at the same
time support Medicare and the VA while saying government-run programs
don't work.
That
is called cognitive dissonance in grown-up talk, and it means you are
trying to hold two opposing thoughts in your brain at the same time.
Which is what is making you crazy and making me weep tears of
frustration. I'd like to have the opportunity to choose Medicare if I
want it. I've paid into the system for years, but so far I'm not old
enough to join. I would give up my employer provided private insurance
in a heart beat. But you do-nothing opponents of everything won't let
me. Boo hiss. |
|
[Employer pay most of our insurance]
That's a benefit that may be on it's way out anyway. It was started
when there was a shortage of workers and additional bait was needed to
get employees. That's obviously not the case these days and it has been
abused to the point of helping destroy big companies like GM. |

[Changes I am still waiting for] That's
a problem. Everybody seems to think he promised exactly what they
wanted; they heard what they wanted to hear. I remember waiting to find
out exactly what changes he had in mind and not hearing specifics. Some
of his proposed changes have turned out to be exactly what some people
wanted, but a lot of others have been quite a jolt. |

[Rocky
Mountain High] In 1974 I was in the US Army being transferred from
Fort Campbell, KY (what a hole that place was) to Fort Carson, Colorado.
I was just a PFC, 24, married, hardly any money, but god what a
fantastic place Colorado Springs was.
Now here is the real deal, back in
Kentucky we were paying about 35 dollars for an ounce of pot, but still
had to split it four ways with my army buddies in order to afford it. On
our first pot search we were told to go a big city park next to Manitou
Springs. No problem there, people were selling pot all over the place.
Not knowing what the cost of an ounce was, the first person we asked
said that the only thing they had was Mexican pot and that the only
thing anybody had was Mexican pot at 15 dollars an ounce. Life was good
that day, but I still could only afford a half an ounce, which was
better then splitting it 4 ways. I will never forget the transaction.
The guy had on bell bottom jeans. On his right leg when he lifted up his
pants were ounces of pot all the way up his leg secured with rubber
bands. On his left leg was the same, but only half ounces. We did the
deal and my wife and I trotted off to Manitou Springs like we were on
the yellow brick road. We smoked a big Mexican joint and went to a
little bar called the Townhouse. They had Coors beer for 75 cents a
pitcher during happy hour and life really got good that day. There
is no moral to this story. I never became a born again person, I'm still
smoking the herb. The only thing I really wish that I could find is a
bar with 75 cent pitchers. |

[Cash
for Codgers] Democrats,
touting the big success of the President's "Cash For Clunkers" rebate
program, have revamped a major portion of the Obama Nationalized Health
Care Plan.
President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and Sen.
Reid are expected to make a major announcement at a joint news
conference later this week. The new program will be called Cash for
Codgers and will work as follows:
Couples wishing to access nationalized
health care funds in order to pay for the delivery of a child will be
required to turn in one old person on the day of delivery. The amount
the government grants them will be fixed according to a sliding scale.
The older and more medically/prescription dependent codgers will be
granted the highest amounts for trade-in value.
Special bonuses will be paid for those
submitting codgers in targeted groups, such as smokers, wine with dinner
drinkers, those who eat fried food including potato chips and persons 10
pounds over their nationalized health care prescribed weight limit and
any member of the Republican Party. Smaller bonuses will be given for
codgers who consume red meat, soft drinks, lattes, milk, whole curd
cottage cheese, eggs, bacon, brussel sprouts or Girl Scout Cookies.
All codgers will be rendered totally
useless via an injection, similar to that given to the engines of the
'clunker' trade-ins. This will insure that they like the vehicle
'clunkers' are not secretly resold (traded in) or their body parts
harvested to keep other codgers in repair and among society.
A White House spokesperson said that the
proposed program will save as much as ten billion dollars over ten years
that will then be used to expand the welfare benefits for the
chronically un-employed and newly arriving illegal aliens. A portion of
the savings (to be called the "B-Ball for Health" program) would also be
set aside to fund additional basketball hoops in blighted urban areas.

[Political
Correctness] I believe the
first victim of political correctness is meaningful dialogue and its
companion, understanding and after that the exercise of free speech.
Political correctness is dangerous because it substitutes a 'goal',
either by the group or the government in place of a 'right'. When there
is truly free speech there is no rule for what is appropriate or not
appropriate, i.e. it is not goal directed (of course free speech is
limited , you don’t yell “fire” in a crowded theater unless there is a
fire.) |

[Remember]
On Friday,
September 11th, 2009, an American flag should be displayed outside every
home, apartment, office, and store in the United States. Every
individual should make it their duty to display an American flag on this
eighth anniversary of one of our country's worst tragedies. We do this
to honor those who lost their lives on 9/11, their families, friends and
loved ones who continue to endure the pain, and those who today are
fighting at
home and abroad to
preserve our cherished freedoms.
In the days, weeks and
months following 9/11, our country was bathed in American flags as
citizens mourned the incredible losses and stood shoulder-to-shoulder
against terrorism. Sadly, those flags have all but disappeared. Our
patriotism pulled us through some tough times and it shouldn't take
another attack to galvanize us in solidarity. Our American flag is the
fabric of our country and together we can prevail over terrorism of all
kinds. |

[Joke] A woman stopped by, unannounced,
at her son's house. She knocked on the door then immediately walked in.
She was shocked to see her daughter-in-law lying on the couch, totally
naked. Soft music was playing, and the aroma of perfume filled the room.
'What are you doing?' she asked. 'I'm waiting for Justin to come home
from work.' The daughter-in-law answered. ' But you're naked!' the
mother-in-law exclaimed. 'This is my love dress,' the daughter-in-law
explained. 'Love dress? But you're naked!' 'Justin loves me to wear this
dress,' she explained. 'Every time he sees me in this dress, he
instantly becomes romantic and ravages me for hours.'
The mother-in-law left. When she got home she undressed, showered, put
on her best perfume, dimmed the lights, put on a romantic CD, and lay on
the couch waiting for her husband to arrive. Finally, her husband came
home. He walked in and saw her lying there so provocatively. ' What are
you doing?' he asked. 'This is my love dress,' she whispered, sensually.
'Needs ironing,' he said, 'What's for dinner?' |

I am the stoner
construction worker that posted the other day. I rarely drink and
almost never pay for pot (true stoners are self-sufficient). My little
rant was only helping me vent my anger toward a flawed system. The fact
is hard drug users get covered for accidents through workman’s
compensation and pot smokers don't. I'll bet you have no idea how much
workman’s comp costs. It’s over fifty percent in the construction
industry. Don’t complain about the high costs of construction when you
need something done at your house. Lucky for me I am young and have been
healthy and safe. I usually work for myself and at times I have worked
for local contractors. I have never been offered health coverage at any
time in my life. And right now I have no money due to the lack of work
in my circles and the economy, not because I am lazy.. Most people have
never worked in the scorching sun all day and it seems like you may
never know the satisfaction I feel lighting up a joint after an honest
hard days work. People need stoners like me to build your house and fix
your cars. |

[Change the
Constitution] The Obama administration is trying to change the
Constitution that we all know and respect. It has nothing to do with
race. Race is just an excuse that the liberals use. No one said
anything about race. I don't care if the President of the US is black,
white, purple or red. He should not try and change the greatest country
in the world. After all, isn't that why everyone comes here for
everything including healthcare. Health care reform will cost money and
put us in trillions more debt which we do not need. Wake up America.
Use your heads wisely before your children and their children pay for
this so called reform. |

[Medicare] I’m a little confused
by a poster saying that the people on Medicare deserve it because they
earned it. He then went on to say that he has to wait until he’s older
to get it. That’s why people paying taxes into it now should be able to
get it now. You should support national healthcare because then you
won’t have to wait to get the return on what you have invested in the
system. A national healthcare plan gives working people a return they
can use now and frees up money they can use for food, shelter and
clothing which helps the economy. A national healthcare plan lets
Americans catch up with other industrialized democratic nations. |

[The
Great Acid Rain Threat] Studies have confirmed that acid rain is a
combination of both nitric acid and sulfuric acid and have been in our
atmosphere for millennia. In combination they have about the same ph
(acidity level) as tomato juice.
Protector of the
planet, Al Gore, alerted President Obama, Speaker of the House Nancy
Pelosi and the ever diligent Harry Reid of this horrendous threat to our
fragile environment.
In an emergency
session, they quickly crafted a bill to expend $40 billion dollars to
pay farmers to limit tomato production calling it the Tomato Abatement
Act.
To fund this most
important legislation, a surcharge will be imposed on all meals
containing tomatoes and increased taxes will be levied on Italian food,
(Chicken Alfredo will be exempted).
A Washington
spokesperson is quoted as saying, “We cannot let this global threat go
unchallenged. We must now stand behind our leaders and fight this
disastrous assault on our environment. People will just have to learn
to dip their grilled cheese sandwiches in something besides tomato
soup. We all have to make the sacrifice for the good of the planet." |

[From
the Right] A Brit web news outlet had the following headline
Thursday morning “'Cruel and neglectful' care of one million NHS
patients exposed”. The article speaks of one million NHS patients who
have suffered appalling health care at the hand of Britain’s Socialized
Medicine health care delivery agency, the National Health Service. The
article chronicles hundreds of deaths due to “failures in urgent care”
in one locale alone. The report disclosed a horrifying catalogue of
elderly people left in pain, in soiled bed clothes, denied adequate food
and drink, and suffering from repeatedly cancelled operations, missed
diagnoses and dismissive staff. Deer Friends, this is the model that Mr.
Obama and his band of Merry Men want to impose on your loved ones. This
article is not published by Republicans or by enemies of Obama, it’s
written for Brits by Brits, in a Brit publication. This is only one
report, there have been scores of reports concerning the problems with
the Canadian and British system. Socialized medicine bites—you!
(Part II)
A poster says that
he’s for any plan for health care reform. Then he says that the
Republican’s refused to pass any reform measures. First it’s crystal
clear that in excess of 80% of us have health coverage and more than 80%
of insured people are very satisfied with their care and coverage. Even
so the poster wants to strip most Americans, and all of us who are
satisfied of our care so that he/she can get what he/she thinks will be
cheap insurance. He makes no suggestions to cut costs, he only wants to
adopt whatever is Democrat. He’s jealous of recipients of Medicare and
VA care; he wants to raise everybody’s taxes to scratch his personal
itch. The Dem plan will be vastly more costly that the existing system,
it will put our nation in bankruptcy. Plus Socialized Medicine will
guarantee that the quality of care will go in the toilet. Look what’s
going on in Britain and Canada. Second, the dude is ignoring history.
There were repeated attempts at reform during the Bush admin, like the
“Common Sense Medical Malpractice Reform Act of 2003”. This Republican
bill and other Republican sponsored reform legislation were killed by
Democrat opposition. On Jan. 31st, 2005 the LA Times reported
that Republican " Healthcare Overhaul Is Quietly Underway".
We all know what happened with the onset of the Democrat controlled
Congress. If the Democrat leadership were to champion Medical
Malpractice reform, or legislation to permit nationwide sale of health
care insurance, or tax breaks for employers who provide health care
insurance for employees, or tax breaks for people who buy their own
health insurance, or medical savings accounts, or tax breaks for
institutions or practitioners who digitize their records, or establish a
nationwide digital protocol, then they would get Republican support. How
about the administration demanding balls to the wall enforcement of the
existing fraud laws for Medicare? They would get the support of this
Right Winger. But the Dem program is not about health care, it’s all
about control, power, and socializing our society. Don’t fall for it,
support measures that will preserve our quality care and bring down
costs. |

[Church and State]
If God is so wonderful, all-powerful,
etc, then why does he or she need the support of our government in the
form of the Pledge of Allegiance? In God We Trust on money and license
plates, and tax exemptions doesn’t help Him. If he or she has been

Freedom of religion implies freedom from religion too. I say get

stop making me support your beliefs with my tax dollars. This isn’t

[Obamacare] The only people
against Obamacare are those that don’t pay for health insurance or only
pay a few hundred dollars a month in co-pay. If those people would only
admit that fact, this debate would soon end. Their excuse that they paid
for the social program is lame because with Obamacare we'll all be
paying increased taxes for it, thus reducing the overall cost to
each of us.
The rest of us aren’t as fortunate to
have an employer pay most of our insurance and we don’t qualify for the
other social programs the gov’t has. Most of us are just hard working
people trying to keep what we have and we can’t do it if we get cancer
or some other costly disease. We all will go broke if that happens. |

[Healthcare] All this talk about
Medicare is way off base. Yes, it's a government run program, but it
can't be compared to this new healthcare plan. And there is no hypocrisy
on the part of those posters who use Medicare but disagree with
Obamacare. If the right wing guy is old enough to use Medicare then he's
earned it. It's his own money finally coming back to him. The government
has been taking Medicare (and Social Security) out of my pay checks for
almost thirty years and I'm still not old enough to use it. If I live
long enough to benefit from these programs all they will be doing is
giving me some of my own money back. Assuming they haven't pissed it
away on someone who hasn't earned it by paying in. |

[Legalize pot and tax it]
Yeah sure, that will cut organized crime out of the equation and the
government does such a good job already spending your tax dollars
without waste and corruption. Are all you potheads so simplistic? Ever
hear of black market cigarettes? Instead of dressing up your drug
addiction with facile and altruistic aims, why don’t you put the chronic
down for a few weeks and do something really meaningful, like volunteer
at the SPCA, build a Habitat home, buy an alcoholic a meal or try
reading a book or going to school and becoming the person who cures
cancer? Of course, that might take some effort, which is at odds with
your utter lack of motivation to do anything beyond changing the bong
water. Go back to sleep. I don’t want you walking among those of us who
are actually contributing to society. |

My
family’s health insurance just went up $173 per month. There are
only 4 family members in our coverage. This is ridiculous. Something
needs to be done. Our coverage has gone up every year for the last 4
years and we have never met our deductibles. It can’t be blamed on Obama
because Bush was the President the last 3 years. If the republicans
don’t have a plan let the Democrats try something. And itwasnt Congress
that stopped Bush from trying to do something for the last 8 years. All
he did was sit on his damn thumb. This every-man-for-himself mentality
is for the birds. We can lose thousands of lives for the Iraqis that
don’t stand up for themselves, we can walk lovingly with the Saudis
through the Rose Garden, but we can’t help the average American raising
a family, serving his country and paying his taxes?
I’m pissed and I’m not just going to
whine about it. I’m pushing for healthcare reform in whatever form the
Dems think makes sense. 8 years of thumbing twiddling already took way
to much money from my family. If young people, old people and veterans
can have nationalized healthcare so should the average man on the street
that pays for everyone else’s. I agree with Obama when he says illegal
aliens will not be covered. No Social Security number - no healthcare.

[Women's
Equality Day] August 26 of each year is designated in the United
States as Women's Equality Day. Instituted by Rep. Bella Abzug and first
established in 1971, the date commemorates the passage of the 19th
Amendment, the Woman Suffrage Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which
gave U.S. women full voting rights in 1920. Here are some links for more
information connected with this commemoration.
Votes for women were
first seriously proposed in the United States in July, 1848, at the
Seneca Falls Woman's Rights Convention organized by Elizabeth Cady
Stanton and Lucretia Mott. One woman who attended that convention was
Charlotte Woodward. She was nineteen at the time. In 1920, when women
finally won the vote throughout the nation, Charlotte Woodward was the
only participant in the 1848 Convention who was still alive to cast her
vote. Eighty-one years old, she cast her vote proudly.
Let's celebrate
Charlotte Woodward and her fellow ladies who made August 26, 1920 the
first day women could exercise their power and vote. |

Does anyone that writes about the "weed" have an IQ over their age? It
is so obvious why the government does not control and tax it. It’s
because they wouldn’t be able to. It is not like alcohol or tobacco
which must be processed and is a bit difficult to make sellable and is
easily taxed. Anyone can grow weed anywhere, even in their house with a
grow light if need be. It is kept illegal because it makes many jobs for
police, jailers and lawyers along with the building jails to house these
awful criminals. |

Yesterday’s stoner
construction worker pissed and moaned about pot laws, but unwittingly made a
bigger point about Mr. Obama’s Socialized Medicine initiative. You can be
dead sure that the stoner does not have health insurance. You can be dead
sure that he has a cell phone and has satellite TV and has a damn nice ride.
He probably has a boat and he probably swills a dozen or so beers a day,
slams a few shots, and let’s not forget that he spends some pretty long
bucks on devil weed. All of that costs pretty serious money. You can bet
that the same is true for most of his pals on the team that he works with.
They’ve got plenty of bucks for shits and grins, but they don’t have health
insurance because they “can’t afford it”. If this dude gets sick or
seriously injured, he will get treated on yours and my dime. Then, the
generous folks around here will likely hold a dandy “benefit” for the stoner
dude. He’ll collect a nice little pot of cash. He’ll use that cash to buy
more stash, but not to pay his medical bills. The care provider will write
off the debt which means you and I pay for it. Why in the hell should you
and I ditch our perfectly good health care system, pay higher taxes, and
blow up our economy because of fewer than 10% of our citizens who think like
this pea brained pot head?

“Man Collapses With Ruptured Appendix…Three Weeks After National Health
Service Doctors ‘Took It out’”. My Deer Friends, this is a Brit publication
that is reporting on short comings of their own health care delivery system,
they have no dog in our USA health care fight. Their health care delivery
system is one of the models that Obama wants to copy. They know that their
health care delivery system bites! For God’s sake don’t get caught up in
the sentimentality that Obama et al are trying to gin up by relabeling Obama
care “Kennedy Care” or some such bull excrement.

[Selective Enforcement] I have a
drug dealer on my block. We all know him and so does the community. He’s
been dealing coke for years. He is a convicted felon living with a
convicted felon. He has been having a war with his neighbor, but not
over drugs. When the neighbor calls the cops, the same cop comes and
goes to the drug dealer’s home and talks with him first, then to the
person’s home who called the officers of the law. The citizen never
gets a case number, nothing is done about his behavior. The officer
supposedly implied to the complainer that they should just let him go
inside and smoke his pipe.
Now the drug dealer
is stopping by my other neighbor’s home and there is something kind of
strange about this relationship. It seems neighbor number 3’s family
owns a business in town that hires someone who has been slammed on this
website quite a bit a while back; someone who was known to deal drugs.
Is my imagination
going wild or am I hitting the nail on the head? I have been told that
law enforcement (not just in the Keys) allows so many people to pursue
their illegal occupation in order to keep the citizens complacent. Is
that what is happening here? Are the drug busts we read about just to
pacify the law abiding citizens into thinking the powers-that-be are
doing their job?
Neighbor number 3
has been mentioned in this column a few times. He may even be the
person that clubbed the peacock to death a while back that someone
posted about. They asked in that post, why is this person allowed to
exist without interference from the law? I am now asking the same
question again. If the community knows about these dirt bags and the
sheriff’s officers don’t, they are not doing their job. It’s time to
take them down. No more pot busts until these people are removed from
society. I will let the community know if I get harassed or followed;
it will be interesting to see what happens. |

[Marathon
High School burglarized] The Sheriff's Office is investigating a
burglary at Marathon High School. Thousands of dollars worth of digital
video and camera equipment were stolen between Sunday late afternoon and
Monday morning. Suspects smashed the small hurricane safety glass
windows in the doors of two classrooms. They appear to have then reached
inside and opened the doors to gain access to the classrooms. Once
inside, they took a computer, several video cameras, a video mixing
board, numerous digital cameras and other equipment. Total value of the
stolen equipment is approximately $10,000.
Anyone with information about this crime should contact the Sheriff's
Office. Callers who wish to remain anonymous can call Crime Stoppers of
the Florida Keys. If a Crimestoppers tip leads to an arrest, the caller
would be eligible for a cash reward. The Crimestoppers hot line number

[Workman's
Compensation] The anti pot poster cracks me up. Say what you will
about potheads. The real problem is the insurance companies. I get
really burned when the law states almost everyone in construction trades
be covered by workman’s’ compensation insurance. Then they turn around
and won't cover anyone who has pot in their system. So the bottom line
is, you can get drunk, go on a crack binge, snort coke for days on end,
not sleep for days, and three days later when you’re so tired you have
an accident you’re covered because those drugs are gone from your
system. If I smoke one joint and three weeks later some crackhead shoots
me with a nail gun, guess what? No coverage! This logic is insane at
best. If you have ever hired a construction crew for a job, you can bet
many of them smoke pot. I know of very few construction workers that
don't smoke weed. Until they come up with a test that can prove you were
high during the accident, pot will never be legal. So I do what any
red-blooded American would do. I smoke weed and I refuse to pay
workman’s’ comp. Chances are if you had a good construction crew work at
your house in the lower Keys in the last ten years, I was there, and we
were all stoned. |
[County Tax Increase] The proposed 2009
property tax increases must not be allowed to pass. Please consider the
following facts.
• America is in a financial crisis due to government spending.
• Property values and personal savings have been decimated.
• Recorded unemployment in America is at a 9.5% level, and true
unemployment exceeds 16%. Florida is among the highest states in
unemployment. Many are now only working part time because of business
cost cuts.
• The vast majority of businesses and individuals in America today have
been forced to cut spending to survive.
• Monroe county proposals are a disgrace. My property tax proposal
indicates a proposed increase of from 23% to 32% in property tax and an
additional increase of 35.6% in non-ad valorem.
Politicians both local and national show their arrogance and
insensitivity, when they refuse to reduce costs and control government
budgets. This document should be used as a petition to Monroe County.

[Outsourcing
to India]
Congress today announced that the office of
President of the United States of
America
will be outsourced to
India
as of September 1, 2009. The move is being made in order to save the
President's $500,000 yearly salary and also a record $750 billion in
deficit expenditures and related overhead that his office has incurred
during the last 3 months. It is anticipated that $7 trillion can be
saved to the end of the President's term. "We believe this is a wise
financial move. The cost savings are huge," stated
Congressman Thomas Reynolds
(R-WA). "We cannot remain competitive on the world stage with the
current level of cash outlay," Reynolds noted.
Mr. Obama was informed by email this morning of his termination.
Preparations for the job move have been underway for some time.
Gurvinder Singh, a tele-technician for Indus Teleservices,
Mumbai, India
will assume the office of President as of September 1, 2009. Mr. Singh
was born in the United States while his
Indian parents
were vacationing at
Niagara Falls, NY.
Thus making him eligible for the position. He will receive a salary of
$320 (USD) a month, but no
health coverage
or other benefits.
It is believed that Mr. Singh will be able to handle his job
responsibilities without a support staff. Due to the time difference
between the US and India, he will be working primarily at night.
"Working nights will allow me to keep my day job at the Computer
Customer Support call center," stated Mr. Singh in an exclusive
interview.
I
am excited about this position. I always hoped I would be President." A
Congressional spokesperson noted that while Mr. Singh may not be fully
aware of all the issues involved in the office of President, this should
not be a problem as
President Obama
had never been familiar with the issues either.
Mr. Singh will rely upon a talking script tree that will enable him to
respond effectively to most topics of concern. Using these canned
responses, he can address common concerns without having to understand
the underlying issue at all.
"We know these scripting tools work," stated the spokesperson.
"President Obama has used them successfully for years, with the result
that some people actually thought he knew what he was talking about."
Obama will receive
health coverage,
expenses, and salary until his final day of employment. Following a
two-week waiting period, he will be eligible for $140 a week
unemployment for 26 weeks. Unfortunately he will not be eligible for
Medicaid, as his
unemployment benefits
will exceed the allowed limit.
Mr. Obama has been provided with the
outplacement services
of Manpower, Inc. to help him write a resume and prepare for his
upcoming job transition. According to Manpower, Mr. Obama may have
difficulties in securing a new position due to a lack of any successful
work experience during his lifetime. A greeter position at Wal-Mart was
suggested due to Obama's extensive experience at shaking hands, as well
as his special smile. |

Only 14% were against it. |

[Instead of Bailouts] Instead of
giving billions of dollars to companies that will squander the money on
lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can
call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan.
There are about 40 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them $1
million each severance for early retirement with the following
stipulations. 1. They must retire which would equal 40 million job
openings--unemployment fixed. 2. They buy a new American car which
would equal forty million cars ordered--auto industry fixed. 3. They
must either buy a house or pay off their mortgage--housing crisis
fixed.
It can't get any
easier than that. If more money is needed have all members of Congress
and their constituents pay their taxes! |

[From the Right]
I really wish that I could find something good to say about Mr. Obama. I
really wish that I could like and respect our great nation’s current
leader. I would like to be filled with pride for our leader whose story
is text book. But I can’t. The announcement that the Obama
administration is getting ready to hack to death our nation’s primary
gatherer of foreign intelligence is absolutely stunning and insane from
any rational perspective. It truly beggars belief. It's a crystal clear
political move to burnish his creds with his ultra left wing supporters.
It’s apparent that Mr. Obama is setting the scene for America suffering
a crushing defeat in Pakistan and Afghanistan. So be it, but why
jeopardize our homeland? Does any reader of this site have any doubt
that we are still the targets of Muslim fundamentalist terrorists?
Nonetheless Obama and crew are preparing to disembowel those folks who
are charged with intel gathering and covert ops against these enemies.
It’s mind blowing, but Obama has stripped the CIA of the responsibility
of interrogation of these animals. It’s the CIA that has the broad fund
of intel and world wide contacts. The FBI is a rookie new comer in this
arena. Think about this: Eric Holder, our Attorney General, intends to
deal with these murderous fighters as if they were common street
criminals. Indeed, Eric Holders law firm (Covington & Burling, a
prestigious Washington, D.C. law firm, which represents 17 Yemenis)
has been one of the primary providers of pro bono (free) legal
representation of the terrorists currently in GITMO. Remember too, that
Holder was the broker for securing a Bill Clinton pardon in Clinton’s
last moments as President for Marc Rich, mega thief, swindler, and $48
million dollar tax evader. Oh Yes, Rich did then contribute millions to
Clintons library. Quid Pro Quo! Obama told us that he would not seek
retribution against the nasty harsh interrogators of the CIA who
developed the info that resulted in breaking several plots and arrests
of AQI management. Thousands of American lives were likely saved. Obama
lied again. Perhaps I’m being too harsh; perhaps he’s only doing this to
divert attention from the debacle that his Socialized medicine scheme
has become. That’s a tragic Hobson’s choice.
(Part II) You folks
do yourself and Mr. Obama no favors when you post blatant falsehoods
like yesterdays poster who falsely claimed that Mr. Obama had a +12
approval rating according to Gallup. The poster then congratulated
Obama! Geesh! Knowingly posting falsehoods only makes your future
postings unworthy of belief, just like Mr. Obama’s falsehoods, changing
positions, and reneging on campaign promises has rendered him unworthy
of belief. Gallup’s August 24 headline was:
“Obama Weekly Approval Average now 52%, a New Low”. Gallup also said
that his support is down in most political and demographic groups. His
approval rate was 59% just a month ago. His approval has fallen below
50% in several demographics. Mr. Obama has tripped over the edge of the
cliff. |

[Instant
Karma] As I get older and crankier I sometimes forget the important
lesions I’ve learned. One happened this weekend when I was visiting up
in America. We were on the beach watching the surf generated by
hurricane Bill and my host wanted us to go a few blocks away to see her
daughter’s new twins. I don’t have any use for kids so I said I didn’t
want to go and would mind the chairs and stuff on the beach while they
were gone. Dirty looks were all directed my way, but they knew better
than to argue. They left and said they’d be back shortly. I thought I
should have gone with them as my friend really wanted me to see her
grandchildren and her daughter had asked her mother to bring me by.
As soon as they were out of sight a rain
drop hit me on the head, then another. I was soaked within five minutes,
I mean really soaked. The good news is that with that first rain drop I
had an Instant Karma moment when I was rudely awakened from my selfish
self. I packed up the chairs and stuff and went to the parking lot where
my friend drove up and packed soggy me in and then drove me to a shower
and clean clothes and then off to the babies house. I was a new man and
had a nice time in babyland.
I don’t believe in anything, can’t say I
ever have, but I do believe in karma. I figure it this way. If you’re
attuned, a little thing like a rain drop at the right time will get your
attention. If you’re not attuned it might take a whole flood or disaster
to get your attention. Luckily for me all it took was a rain drop for me
to remember to do the right thing. |

[Healthcare] As
time goes by, more and more people are actually reading the 1,100 page
Obama health care plan. Or at least sections of it. The entire bill is
available online. It is becoming more and more apparent that in
many instances, what the bill actually says is not what President Obama
says it says during his Town Hall meetings. Time is not on Barack's
side. As more and more people actually read the bill, these
discrepancies will become more and more well known. Eternal vigilance by
the American people is required in many areas. |

[Hire
Locally] I have a great idea. If you work for the Village of
Islamorada, you must be a resident of the village. If you work for the
City of Marathon, you must be a resident of Marathon. If you work for
the County, you must live in the county.
The Village Manager
lives near to me and he owns a home, but he is never there. So there are
ways to get around it. Own property here, make money living here, but
reside elsewhere. I would love to have a job, but all of these people
who come down here from out of County take them all up here. Can you
believe that Cheeca Lodge or Holliday Isle will hire my Haitian brethren
from Homestead, but won’t give a local guy a job to take care of his
family? This is unlike any place on earth, that’s for sure. |
|
[Acevedo] If there’s any plea
bargaining in their cases I’m going to raise hell. I want my pound of
flesh! |
[Legalizing
Marijuana] This seems to be the entire raison d’etre of
60-year olds with gray hair and pony tails, or lethargic schoolboys who
hope to make assistant night manager at Jack In The Box their life’s
work.
Deciding
we will solve a problem by making it legal is ludicrous. How about we
eliminate sex crimes by “legalizing” rape and pedophilia? And
contrasting and comparing pot to booze is similarly disingenuous. The
legalization of alcohol has done nothing to hamper its destructive
power.
But
let's consider the serious drug we're discussing. What puts the devil in
the "demon weed”? Mostly THC, which stands for
delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, a complex substance containing more than
four hundred known chemicals, subsequently broken down by the body into
another two thousand, most of them unstudied. What we do know indicates
that THC's by-products are like Krazy Glue in the user's brain. It takes
a month for the body to eliminate just the known chemicals left by one
joint; if a chronic user quits, it takes at least three months. What
long-term mischief THC may cause is still anybody's guess, but tests on
rhesus monkeys (using the monkey equivalent of two to three joints per
day) have shown significant brain-cell damage.
And
at the risk of repeating myself (I’m sure the doobie brothers won’t even
notice), I suggest you spend some time where I volunteer on weekends; at
various residential drug rehab centers. Guess what? The programs are
full of pot heads who thought they could stop anytime and couldn’t even
though it meant loss of a job, loss of family, loss of respect and loss
of their bank account. Even the crack heads have stopped laughing at
the pot heads, it’s that serious. |

[School Board] Are you happy with
the direction our schools in Monroe County are heading in? What do you
think of the School Board as whole? I do not know Mr. John Dick, but I
think he has been the most fiscally responsible with our money, and
shown the most logical, common sense thinking on the Board (Steve P. has
done a good job too). Are you aware they will be electing a new Chairman
for the School Board in October? Let them know how you feel. Write to

[Line
dancers move back home] After being shuttled between various venues
for the last year and a half, the Big Pine Line Dancers have finally
been able to return to their original home at the Dallas MacDonald
Senior Center. While the new Big Pine Firehouse on Key Deer Blvd. was
under construction, access to the Center, which is behind the Firehouse,
was not possible. The dancers are grateful to the Methodist Church and
St. Peter's for allowing them to use their meeting rooms, and to Monroe
County for the use of the room at the Community Park.
Classes, which are held at the Center on Monday afternoons from 1:30 pm
to 3:30 pm, and on Wednesday evenings from 7 pm to 9 pm, are open to
beginners and experienced dancers of all ages. Since classes are small
during the off season, there is ample time to give special attention to
beginners.
Line dancing isn't just Country any more. Dances are done to a variety
of music including waltz, Latin, swing, jazz, and even hip-hop.
According to the instructor, Louise Wood, line dancing is fun with the
added benefit of providing good exercise for the body as well as the
brain.
There is no charge for the classes. Call Lou for more information at

[Hail
the Potato Chip] Yesterday was the day one of the major food groups
of the Keys was invented. The original potato chip recipe was created by
Chef George Crum at Moon's Lake House near Saratoga Springs, New York,
on August 24, 1853. Fed up with a
customer who continued to send his fried potatoes back complaining that
they were too thick and soggy, Crum decided to slice the potatoes so
thin that they could not be eaten with a fork. As they could not be
fried normally in a pan, he decided to stir-fry the potato slices.
Against Crum's expectation, the guest was ecstatic about the new chips
and they soon became a regular item on the lodge's menu, under the name
"Saratoga Chips." They eventually became popular throughout New York and
New England. One version of this story identifies Cornelius Vanderbilt
as the customer who wanted them thinner. |

[School Board]
I really would like to see the public support for John Dick to be voted
as the School Board chairman come this November. The Board actually
decides this during the last meeting in October. I would appreciate it
if you could get all you friends to write comments on the Key Citizen
stories, call the Citizen voice and write letters to the editor for all
three papers encouraging the School Board to make John Dick the
Chairman.
With the new
Superintendent, this is the time to make real change and not to have our
initiatives challenged by the present Chairman. Any help you and your
friends can give John Dick would be greatly appreciated. |

[Waste removal
rates] I have been a property owner here for 15 years and see no
reason for a rate hike for trash removal. More people are recycling so
why not just have one pick up a week instead of three? Times are tough
enough why don't we try to be more efficient? I have family in
Massachusetts, a very nice suburb of Boston, who have to bring their
stuff to the dump and separate it to be recycled, but they do not have
to pay a trash tax. The corruption in this county is BS.
Instead of a tea party let’s dump all our trash on the politician who is
allowing this to happen and his no-bid contracts. |

[Menstrual
Cycle] A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry has
revealed that the kind of face a woman finds attractive on a man can
differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle. For example: If
she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with rugged and masculine
features. However, if she is menstruating or menopausal, she tends to be
more attracted to a man with duct tape over his mouth and a spear lodged
in his chest while he is on fire.
No further studies are expected. |

[Healthcare] One thing to consider
regarding the health care reform proposal is the legal ramifications.
Lawyers probably have a huge input in very specific terminology in all
aspects of the plan. |
|
[Demon
Weed] Regarding the post that suggested that marijuana must be
outlawed because it leads people to take stronger, addictive drugs.
Nothing could be farther from the truth!
In the 1920's, during Prohibition, many people became violently ill, or
died from drinking methyl alcohol; widely used at the time in car
radiators as anti-freeze. While prohibitionists claimed that liquor led
to the practice of drinking methyl alcohol, common sense eventually
prevailed and it became apparent that in was the lack of access to
liquor that led people to try the methyl alcohol from their car's
radiator.
The same is true today with marijuana. Pot is a relatively safe
recreational drug; but when it is not available, people often try more
dangerous drugs like meth, which can be readily manufactured from widely
available household products, or OxyContin, easily accessible from
grandma's nightstand. It is the lack of access to pot that leads people
to more dangerous drugs.
The myth that marijuana is a "gateway drug" was promoted in the 1970's
to indoctrinate (brainwash) schoolchildren by the government's War on
Drugs. The truth is that if possession of small amounts of marijuana
were legalized, most of the problems with dangerous drugs would
disappear overnight. In Amsterdam, where marijuana has been legal for
decades, the police do not have a special task force to dismantle meth
labs. With easy access to pot, it never occurred to people in Amsterdam
to manufacture meth. |

[From the Right]
Mr. Obama, get your hands off of my son’s penis. Obama has nationalized
the banks, the insurance industry, the automobile industry, and they
want to nationalize energy and all transportation. Now they’re setting
up to intrude into the most intimate of family decisions. The Center for
Disease Control is preparing a drive to pressure new parents into having
all male infants circumcised. They claim that it is necessary to battle
HIV. They cite as rationale research into African sex practices and that
there were 56,000 new HIV infections in the USA in 2006. The US has a
population of about 307,000,000. That is an infection rate of about
.00018%. Does that sound epidemic to you? This Obama gang is about to
try to pressure new parents to subject their male children to a surgical
procedure with genuine risks to combat a disease that could be virtually
eliminated by simply avoiding risky sex practices. What’s next, the
African sex practice of cliderectomy, to rob women of sexual pleasure so
as to control our population? Speaking of getting screwed, here’s how
many hundreds of thousands of your “stimulus” dollars were spent. The
following studies were funded with stimulus dollars: “Barriers to
correct condom use”, at Indiana University $221,000. “Hookups” among
adolescents at Syracuse University $219,000. “Drug use as a sex
enhancer”, University of Illinois $123,000. And my all time favorite:
Meth “Enhances motivation for rat sexual behavior” University of
Maryland only $28,000.
Your Obama tax
dollars at work. Do you really want these bozos to be in charge of
delivering your health care?
(Part II) Supporters
of Mr. Obama’s burning drive to convert American society to his vision
of a Socialist Nirvana with Mr. Obama at the helm simply can’t
articulate sound reason to impose socialized medicine on our nation.
Instead they must attack his critics. Medicare and VA health care are
often held out by these folks as being shining examples of socialist
success, that our nation should embrace as models for all of our health
care. Many of us who oppose Mr. Obama are clients of those programs.
Many of us are participants only because we were forced to participate
in Medicare. We are clients simply because we had no choice. Now because
we were denied our right to manage and plan for our own care, we are
forced to rely on Medicare. Our Vets all too often are horribly
victimized by VA medical care. Recently more than ten thousand Vets were
exposed to HIV and Hepatitis because of atrocious VA medical sanitation
practices. Recently thousands of Vets were horrified when they were
notified that they were infected with a terminal disease. They were
MISTAKENLY notified due to inexcusable error by the VA. Medicare and the
VA are bleeding sores of mismanagement, fraud, and abuse. Soon you will
be reading about the VA “Death Book”, a publication that endeavors to
steer aging vets to turn down life extending measures. A craven and
cruel method to save money. Now these vaunted Socialist programs are
going bust, bankrupt. Social Security too is on the cusp of bankruptcy.
Our government has no more business running healthcare than I do
designing nukes. Mr. Obama displayed his incredible lack of executive
talent when he pegged the Federal deficit as $7 Trillion when it
actually will be in excess of $9 Trillion. That is an error of Two
Thousand Billion dollars. That’s real money! Don’t forget that number
does not include the $2 Trillion dollars that his Socialized Medicine
scheme will cost us. Mr. Obama’s Socialized medicine scheme is as
corrosive for our society as HIV is for its victims. |

[Acevedo]
If you have been in any school in the past decade, you will realize
that it is all about money. I think of the money they waste. It
surely makes the amount of money plundered from the school system by
Acevedo’s wife, small and his covert attempts to undermine the
controls in the school system (this was a really well thought out
scam and they tried so hard to cover their tracks). Most School
Superintendents are hired by the school board. He was elected. That
means he is a politician. Instead of submitting a resume and
references to apply for a high ranking position, he pulled strings.
He is not an incompetent bureaucrat, he is a crooked politician. If
it is true that he forged a document pertaining to the purchase of
an XM Satellite radio for the MARC van, on ill-gotten stationary and
submitted it to cover for his wife, a lot of people should be
looking for new jobs. Damn our school board. This happened right
under their noses. If they are the most qualified people we can
find, we are real in trouble. ~smaher@americanadvantagemortgage.com |

[From the
Right] In recent days there have been a couple of postings
accusing President GW Bush of being soft on Libya. It is really
stunning how incredibly wrong the Bush bashers can be. President
Bush’s War on Terror, the invasion of Iraq, the sanctioning of
nations who supported terrorism, the enhancement of sanctions
against those states, the overt and covert anti terrorist activities
of the USA, and a dynamic diplomatic initiative convinced Libyan
strong man Quaddafi that he was to be the next invasion target.
Quaddafi understands and respects power and revenge. On December 20th
2003 Prime Minister Blair and President G.W. Bush won a major battle
in the war against terrorism when their efforts resulted in Libya
surrendering and dismantling its WMD programs and most of its
inventory of missiles. Libya feared Bush the “Cowboy”. We now have a
President that is neither feared nor respected by our enemies. The
Brits now have a PM that our enemies neither fear nor respect. Our
enemies now gleefully piss on our shoes. The Muslim world will treat
Obama with the same disdain they levied on Carter and Clinton, both
dishonored the historic courage of Democrat Presidents FDR, Truman,
Kennedy and Johnson. Presidential weakness resulted in the murderous
terrorist of Pan Am flight 103, Al Megrahi, being imprisoned in
Scotland, not the USA. President William Jefferson Clinton folded to
the Scots when they resisted extraditing the terrorist to the USA
for trial. The current lack of international respect for the resolve
of the USA resulted in the Scots releasing the terrorist who ignored
vigorous American protests to his release. Mr. Obama’s day late and
dollar short condemnation of the release evokes the image of a
yapping Yorkie. |

[Healthcare] It seems to me that my
honorable friend the 1/4 truth man is confused and bounces his
beliefs around quite a bit. He says that he is against a national
healthcare plan yet he himself is on the very same plan (Medicare).
Now why would someone want to stay with a plan that he is feverously
against? It would be like the peace protesters asking the President
to go to war. Why would a plan which suits his needs not be good for
other Americans? Many of us work 6 days a week at jobs that serve
the community and the common good which do not have health
insurance. Did he work harder then us? Are we not as "American" as
him? Is he happy that we are working to pay for his health coverage
and does he feels he’s more special and deserving then the rest of
us because he’s retired?
Our president has made it well known
as have many hospitals, and even pharmaceutical companies that the
plan does indeed bring competition into play. Less money in "cover
your ass" medical care and more "pay for the work you do only"
expenses. I think the chance that the peace protesters will press
the President to go to war are about the same as you giving up your
socialized healthcare (Medicare). You will not stand firmly behind
your own convictions because you belong to the Party of No and
anything the President does to help the average working American
automatically gets a resounding no! |

In
a zoo in California , a mother tiger gave birth to a rare set of
triplet tiger cubs. Unfortunately, due to complications in the
pregnancy, the cubs were born prematurely and due to their tiny
size, they died shortly after birth.
The mother tiger after recovering from the delivery suddenly started
to decline in health, although physically she was fine. The
veterinarians felt that the loss of her litter had caused the
tigress to fall into a depression. The doctors decided that if the
tigress could surrogate another mother's cubs, perhaps she would
improve.
After checking with many other zoos across the country, the
depressing news was that there were no tiger cubs of the right age
to introduce to the mourning mother. The veterinarians decided to
try something that had never been tried in a zoo environment.
Sometimes a mother of one species, will take on the care of a
different species. The only 'orphans' that could be found quickly
were a litter of weanling pigs. The zoo keepers and vets wrapped the
piglets in tiger skin and placed the babies around the mother tiger.
Would they become cubs or pork chops?

[High

overpriced real estate. A New York City hot dog vendor has been
evicted from his prize spot outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art
because he couldn't pay a whopping rent bill of nearly $54,000 a
month.
Snack cart owner Pasang Sherpa of Queens had a deal with the city's

for the vending rights near the museum steps. He says he was
$310,000 behind on his payments when he was evicted. The Parks
Department had auctioned off the rights to the spot last year.

[Monroe
County Schools] I am furious after reading the article in the
Citizen about the at-risk boy’s program in the school system.
How is it Mr. Hooper, who is only working on getting a master's
degree, who has “what” counseling experience and has questionable
ethics as described in the auditor's report, competed for the school
district job for at-risk youths? Mr. Dykhuisen, who has his
Master's, has a FL State certificate as a Guidance Counselor, worked
for twelve years with at-risk boys, worked as a Marathon Guidance
Counselor for seven years was dismissed in May from the school
district. You tell me who is more qualified to work with at risk
youth. Mr. Dykhuisen’s problem is that he’s just not a bubba? |

Do you have

[No Qualifications] Our acting school superintendent, Mike

administrating right there! (Don't kid yourself that the principal,
Harry Russell, made the choice. He's incapable of wiping his own
arse without direction from Key West.) ~Tryin2FindIt@aol.com |

Waste removal rates are going up which is no big surprise. I
remember when our elected officials decided to shut down the waste
to energy plant and truck the garbage up north. They said it would
be cheaper. I heard rumors that a couple of the commissioners owned
property by the plant, and that is why it was shut down. I would be
shocked if this were true, because we are now paying for it. Waste
Management's contract came up for bid recently, and knowing they
were going to increase our rate, the County commission wouldn’t
allow anyone to bid on the contract. Bubba rules! |

of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama
is performing his role as President. Forty-one percent (41%)
Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index
rating of -14. These figures mark the lowest Approval Index rating
yet recorded for this President. The previous low of -12 was reached
on July 30 (see trends).
Prior to today, the number who
Strongly Approved of the President’s performance had never fallen
below 29%. Some of the decline has come from within the President’s
own party. Just 49% of Democrats offer such a positive assessment of
the President at this time

[Bacon]
The reason the Muslims and Jews are so grouchy is that they can't
eat bacon.
Bacon Tempura
4 egg whites
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 1/3 cups cold club soda
1/2 gallon canola oil
12 pieces thick-sliced applewood bacon
Salt to taste
In a large
bowl, whisk egg whites until they form soft peaks. Fold into egg
whites the flour and club soda. In a 4-quart pot, heat oil to 425
degrees. Batter bacon slices and carefully drop into oil a few
slices at a time. Do not overcrowd oil as it will overflow, and
bacon will cook unevenly. Once the bacon is golden brown, remove
from oil using a slotted spoon. Lightly salt. |

cotton fiber. But, come to think of it, why didn't they just grow
hemp? Wouldn't it have supplied the textile industry while meeting
the demands of recreational drug users as well? Just think of the
prescribed burns! |

The debate over
national health care can be solved by two short sentences. The
politicos that are wondering why people are so pissed off should
read them.
1) We will accept
the exact same health plan you in the Congress have. Period, no
compromise.
2) Or Congress give up their health plan and accept the exact one
you;re trying to give us.
Stick to your
guns and shout to the rooftops “I'm mad as hell and the friggen
debate is over” we except nothing less. Try any more screw jobs on
us and its pitchforks, torches and lamp post time. |

[Government
Bad] Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of
Israel, "Pick up your shovel, mount your asses and camels, and I
will lead you to the Promised Land."
Nearly 75 years ago, Roosevelt said, "Lay down your shovels, sit on
your asses, and light up a camel, this is the Promised Land."
Now Obama has, stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised
the price of Camels,
and mortgaged the Promised Land. |

It’s very easy to tell a poisonous one from a nonpoisonous one. The
poisonous ones taste bitter while the non poisonous ones taste sweet or
salty. Also, rinse your mouth out with alcohol within 10 seconds in case
you happen to run across a really poisonous ones. Maybe, just to be on
the safe side, follow the alcohol rinse with a shot and a beer |

[What
is the price of prescribed burning] It’s less chance of a wildfire
destroying the woods with too hot of fire, less chance of wildfire burning
homes, fresh sprouting plants for wildlife to eat, killing off exotic plants
and keeping the pine woods from becoming over grown with hardwoods. Those
are a few that come to mind. Fire is a natural part of the ecosystem in
southern pinelands and that includes these islands. If you want to see what
happens when this type of ecosystem does not have a proper control
burn management plan, look to the Big Cypress National Preserve. Until very
recently, they did very little prescribe burning. The fuel (dead leaves,
grass, palm fronds and brush) built up and when lightning or something else
started a fire, it burned so hot that it killed the otherwise fire resistant
mature pine and cypress trees. That opened the soil to fast growing exotics
like Malacca and Brazilian pepper. Areas that were not burned grew up thick
with sapling pine, cypress, wax myrtle, oak and Brazilian pepper.
When the Park Service finally got its head
part way out of its ass, it was too late. Now they can't burn some of these
areas because the fire will get into the crowns of the trees and kill
everything. Whiners like you will say they did a bad job. The result is a
changed ecosystem that one day is going to lead to scorched earth anyway. (I
think they should go ahead and torch it when the conditions are favorable
for less damage). You may dislike the USFWS (I'm no fan either) but they are
doing what is best for the habitat when they do a prescribed burn. The only
thing that keeps them from doing a better job is that they can't burn some
of the large tracts of private land that are overgrown. |

How
many pages represent America's Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009, which
is the Democrat's health care reform proposal. Two reams of paper! One
thousand and eighteen pages. There are 250 words per double spaced typed
page. Do the math. The Bill of Rights has 462 words, that's right 462
words. The 1st Amendment has 45 words. The Constitution of the United States
of America has 4400 words. The Democrat's health care reform proposal has
well over 1/4 of a million words
Now, my
question is why? The Democrat's health care reform proposal has over 1/4 of
a million words. Are you sure that's what you want? Health care needs to be
fixed. We need a change. We need a change we can believe in? Is this it? |

[From the Right]
Special to the person who
considers himself a Republican. Thanks for your compliment that some of my
posts are well thought out. There is no need for truce, because no state of
conflict exists between us. It’s obvious that you are an intelligent and
contemplative individual. In your posts you have called me a liar, you have
used the pejoratives "1/4 truth guy" and "1/8 truth guy". You have accused
me of name calling, and suggested that I was intentionally attempting to
mislead readers of this site. You have told the readers of this site that
you are a supporter of Liberal and Democratic causes and initiatives. I hold
no animus, all of that is your absolute right. The readers of the site will
decide who is misleading and who is truthful. I have gathered from your
postings that you are of the view that compromise is a virtuous method of
conflict resolution. In some cases you may be true, but there is no virtue,
no facility in compromise if the compromise requires you to abandon your
principles or to surrender simply because it seems convenient, less
arduous.
I believe in persuasion,
and conversion of the opposition. I do not believe in clutching one's
enemies to one's breast. If you will please review, you will find that my
message was simply that your claim to be a Republican was as fatuous as
claiming likeness between an Oxpecker (a Rino Tick Bird) and an American
Eagle. You have told us that you refused to vote Republican because of Ms.
Palin, who is a true conservative. Your petulance provided an assist to the
uber Liberal Mr. Obama and helped put our nation in its current quagmire. I
have no intention of calling you names, but it I were to assign you a label,
that label would be “RINO”. The acronym for Republican In Name Only. Be
well, and enjoy our freedoms.
(Part II) In Portsmouth
New Hampshire on August 11th in a single speech, Mr. Obama told
us 1. Universal health care will not have rationing by government officials
dictating to us what medical procedures and tests that we will be permitted
to have under his plan. Then he said that we will have government officials
who are doctors who will be telling us what medical procedures and tests
that we will be permitted to have under his plan. 2. Medicare is a
successful government run medical healthcare plan; therefore we should
welcome a larger government universal health care plan. Then he said that
Medicare is headed for bankruptcy and must fail, therefore we should welcome
government run universal health care. It’s beyond understanding why Mr.
Obama must engage in such patent doubletalk. It's incredible, but true, hunt
up the transcript on the web and look for yourself. |

straight.
Obama's health care plan will be written by
a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress
that hasn't read it, signed by a president who smokes, funded by a treasury
chief who did not pay his taxes, overseen by a surgeon general who is obese,
and financed by a country that is nearly broke.

[Auto
A/C] Do not turn on your A/C immediately as you enter the car. Open
the windows
after you enter your car and turn on the air-conditioning after a couple of
minutes.
Here's why: According to a research, the car dashboard, sofa, air freshener,
etc., emit Benzene, a cancer causing toxin (carcinogen - take time to
observe the smell of heated plastic in your car).
In addition to causing cancer, Benzene poisons your bones, causes anemia and
reduces white blood cells. Prolonged exposure will cause Leukemia,
increasing the risk of cancer and may also cause a miscarriage.
Acceptable Benzene level indoors is 50 mg per sq. ft. A car parked indoors
with windows closed will contain 400-800 mg of Benzene. If parked outdoors
under the sun at a temperature above 60 degrees F, the Benzene level goes up
to 2000-4000 mg, 40 times the acceptable level.
People who get into the car, keeping windows closed will inevitably inhale,
in quick succession, excessive amounts of the toxin. Benzene is a toxin that
affects your kidney and liver. What's worse, it is extremely difficult for
your body to expel this toxic stuff.
So friends, please open the windows and door of your car and give time for
the interior to air out and dispel the deadly stuff before you enter. |

[God’s Balance] God was missing for
six days. Eventually, Michael, the archangel, found him resting on the
seventh day.
He inquired, "Where have you been?" God
smiled deeply and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds, "Look,
Michael. Look what I've made."
Archangel Michael looked puzzled, and said, "What is it?"
"It's a planet," replied God, and I've put life on it. I'm going
to call it Earth and it's going to be a place to test Balance."
"Balance?" inquired Michael, "I'm still confused." God explained, pointing
to different parts of earth. "For example, northern Europe will be a place
of great opportunity and wealth, while southern Europe is going to be poor.
Over here I've placed a continent of white people, and over there is a
continent of black people. Balance in all things."
God continued pointing to different countries. "This one will be extremely
hot, while this one will be very cold and covered in ice." The Archangel,
impressed by God's work, then pointed to a land area and said, "What's that
one?"
That's the State of North Carolina, the most glorious place on earth. There
are beautiful mountains, rivers and streams, lakes, forests, hills, beaches
and plains. The people from the State of North Carolina are going to be
handsome, modest, intelligent, and humorous, and they are going to travel
the world. They will be extremely sociable, hardworking, high achieving,
carriers of peace, and producers of good things."
Michael gasped in wonder and admiration, but then asked, "But what about
balance, God? You said there would be balance."
God smiled, "There's Washington DC. Wait till you see the idiots I put
there. |

For those who think the outrage and vilification of Superintendent Acevedo
is about the embezzlement of school property and funds, it isn't. Not
speaking of the folks who voted for Acevedo's opponents in the election, but
Acevedo pretty much swept the race for superintendent for his second term.
And those who elected him are the most vocal.
It is well known school districts across the country are moderately to
severely corrupt since they are controlled by teachers unions who will never
stop screaming for more money while delivering a failing product, even
though education funding dwarfs other expenses in the local or federal
"budgets".
But I can't help feeling sorry for Superintendent Acevedo. In his mind,
neither he, nor Mrs. Acevedo have done anything wrong. He is guilty of only
what was expected of him. He was operating completely within his entitled
jurisdiction. The shock so apparent in his recent photos and speech may well
be from his constituents and electorate so suddenly and viciously turning
like rabid piranha. As far as he is concerned, he was only doing what he was
given permission to do by those very people, and is as far from corrupt as
anyone can be... In a sense he's right. Taking a page from the typical
Washington bureaucrat, this is operational standard. But the mistake is when
you're not a Washington bureaucrat, you don't enjoy that kind of autonomy.
You don't have access to files that give leverage over law enforcement
agencies.
So where does the surprise part come in? In the addled mind of the left,
anything goes; so far as you don't get caught. That is the cardinal sin when
you're a petty bureaucrat. Then you will be reviled and condemned by your
most ardent former supporters. Superintendent Acevedo put his honest trust
in the system that put him in this position, and had never felt compelled to
heed that axiom. |

We spent about
an hour today at Big Pine Charter School. When we first moved here I asked
people where we should send my kids to school. A lot told me to try the
charter school. They told me that teachers and principle really care about
kids. So I decided to give it a try. Everyone there made me feel like it
was the best place for my kids. The teacher and the principle spent a lot
of time with me, answering my questions and making me feel like I made the
best choice. No big school for my kids. Just small classes and lots of
very caring people. The pta cares about kids and the school. My friend
told me that the principle and teachers know every kid by name. Scores are
really good and my child loved playing there today. They won't steal from
the kids, they will just make it better for all kids is what I hear. The
principle used to be a pincipal and a superintendent someplace else before
she came here. She said she has really great teachers and kids. She does.
Have a great year and thanks for showing me what a good school is really all
about. |

Late Friday the Obama administration tried
to hide one of the most astounding news item to occur on his watch. Earlier
this week the Obama administration assured us that our national debt was
beginning to decline. Decline of the debt is essential to Obama to improve
his chances of imposing socialized medicine on us. In hopes that the late
Friday news release will escape publicity, the Obama administration admitted
that the deficit is sure to rise from his previous estimate of $7 Trillion
to at least $9 Trillion dollars. The Obama excuse? “We misunderestimated
the severity of the recession”. Do you really want these bozos to manage

It’s unfortunate
that yesterdays poster who complained that he had not seen any suggestions
from Conservatives and us Right Wingers to solve the health care problem has
not been following along on this site. This site has repeatedly seen the
following suggestions that if implemented would be sure to lower health care
costs. Conservatives, Right Wingers, and sundry thinking folks for many
months have repeatedly called for. 1: Tort reform 2. Aggressive enforcement
of existing laws to combat health care fraud. 3. Enactment of legislation to
permit national sale of health insurance. 4. Elimination of free health care
to illegal aliens and their families. 5. Investigation of the viability of
health care cooperatives. 6. Establishment of a national health care record
keeping protocol. 7. Tax incentives to Physicians and institutions to
implement computerized record keeping. 8. Tax incentives for employers who
provide or subsidize employee health care insurance. 9. Establishment of
health care savings accounts. 10. Tax incentives to individuals and families
who individually purchase health care insurance. Is that enough for
starters? I wonder why our President promises to pay for his socialist
plan by reducing/cutting Medicare. I wonder why he wants to reduce the level
of care delivered to our elderly? I wonder if it’s true that he and his
advisors believe that young lives have more intrinsic value that the lives
of senior citizens? |

(I
think I worked with this one.)
The
truly sad thing? Virginia probably won’t even realize this isn’t a glowing
endorsement.
To
whomever it may concern (since I have no idea),
I
would like to personally recommend Virginia A. for what ever it is that she
requires a recommendation for. I have known VA professionally for a long
time, almost 10 months. In that time her ability to almost do her job
correctly has never ceased to amaze me. It takes quite a special person to
answer phones and correctly forward callers to the correct employee. Some
might say “That’s easy, anyone could do that.” But as her 15 year old
replacement has proven, only someone with VA’s special set of skills could
make it look difficult.
During
her employment VA continually pushed the envelope of what it was possible to
wear to work and not get fired. Often showing enough cleavage to make even
the most satisfied infant salivate, VA and the girls showed what it truly
means to give it all you’ve got, or show it at least. You might be fooled
into thinking that this was grossly inappropriate and not even “What Not to
Wear” could save her, but let me be the first to say that her personal
contribution to morale and lack of concentration to the office was
unsurpassable.
VA’s
commitment to the job meant that she couldn’t just leave it at 8 hours and
call it a day (unless she found someone else to give her a ride home to her
apartment less than half a mile away. Walking is such hard work.) No sir,
when there was a happy hour at another office, VA was the first to ask you
to come (and for a ride.) When there was no drama in the office, VA would
take it upon herself to sleep with one of your coworkers and tell you all
about his ED just in case you thought maybe you didn’t know him well enough
after all.
And so
it is without hesitation that I recommend VA for whatever it is that she is
applying for because that might mean I’ll have to hear form her less. Please
accept/hire her. |

It’s about 10:30PM
PM June 17th 1983. , Adella Marie Simmons and a lady friend are standing
stranded by their disabled car on the turnpike near rural Jupiter Florida.
There is nearly no traffic. Both women are mothers of early teen children
and are returning to Miami from a family get together in upstate Florida.
They are relieved, yet apprehensive when a pickup truck occupied by John
Marek and Raymond DeWayne Wigley pulls up to the back of their stranded car.
The men offer to help, they tinker with the engine and declare that they
can’t fix it, but they offer to give one of the women a ride to call for
help. Ms. Simmon’s friend is frightened and refuses to leave with the two
men. Adella Simmons says “you’ve got to trust someone sometimes” and she
climbs into the truck sitting between Marek who is driving and Wigley.
Adella Simmons has embarked on of her four hours nightmare journey of rape,
torture, beating, and death. Marek and Wigley are thugs from Texas who have
stolen the truck and are headed for Miami for “some fun”. In the early
morning hours of June 18th a Dania Police Department officer
patrolling the beach encounters Marek and Wigley loitering near a closed and
shuttered lifeguard stand. The officer is suspicious. The officer interviews
them but can find no apparent criminal activity so the officer fills out FI
(field interview) cards and sends them on their way. At about 7:00 AM a
Dania lifeguard reporting for duty finds the naked body of Adella Simmons
sprawled on the floor of the blood spattered life guard shack. Ms. Simmons
is nude, there is a bandana knotted tightly around her neck, so tightly that
it has ripped into her flesh. A forensic autopsy discloses that her face is
battered beyond recognition, clumps of her hair have been ripped from her
head. Most of Ms. Simmons’ teeth have been kicked from her mouth. Her body
is a checker board of bruising, abrasion, and contusions. The skin in the
area of her right kidney is bruised and swollen, the kidney and surrounding
tissue is found to be engorged with blood from a massive blunt trauma
impact. Her back and buttocks are crusted with sand and dirt imbeded in her
skin. Her right breast has a heel mark stomped into it. Her pubic hair is
burned. Her right thumb is burned. There is laceration, bruising and
contusion of her genitals, there is physical evidence of vaginal and oral
sex. Her wounds, except for her burned thumb, were inflicted prior to her
death and she died at about 3:30 AM. Ms. Simmons died from ligature
strangulation. Through good police work, Marek and Wigley were soon
captured. Wigley confessed, Marek did not. Both were tried, and convicted
in separate trials. Wigley was found to be less culpable than Marek and
was sentenced to life. Marek’s viciousness earned him the death penalty .
Post conviction Marek embarked on a multi decade journey of appeals that
repeatedly led him to various State and Federal Courts including repeated
forays into the U.S. Supreme Court. On May 6th, 2000 Wigley was found dead
in his cell. He was naked, battered and bruised with a bandana knotted
around his neck. He died of ligature strangulation. His cell mate confessed,
was tried, convicted, and sentenced to Death. Shortly after his conviction
and sentencing Marek began his life on death row and followed the journey of
his appeals through the Criminal Justice system. That journey ended on
Wednesday, August 19th, 2009. A couple of days prior, he had been
transferred from Death Row to a holding cell immediately adjacent to the
death chamber at Florida State Prison located near Starke, Florida. At about
11 AM Marek was served a BLT sandwich on whole wheat, strawberries and cream
and a glass of sweet tea. During the day he was visited by his spiritual
advisor and at least one other visitor. Between 4 and 5 PM Marek was placed
on a hospital gurney, his torso, his hips, his chest, his legs, his arms,
and his feet were bound securely to the gurney. His hands were wrapped with
layers of tape so that they could not be observed, nor could he gesture or
move his hands. A white sheet covered his body to his chest and his arms
were bared. IV catheters were inserted in each arm. He was placed in the
death chamber. The death chamber is a stark room, about 20 by 12 with
mirrored windows on one of the walls on the narrow aspect of the room,
behind the windows is the death mechanism. On one of the long aspect walls
of the room is an observation window that is about 15 feet long. The window
is totally obscured with a pale brown shade. In the starkly institutional
room behind the shade obscured window are 3 rows of institutional chairs on
which are seated the 15 or so official witnesses. At precisely 6:20 PM the
pale brown shade retracted, in the center of the room with the foot of the
gurney facing the witnesses was Marek, he lifted his head to look at
witnesses. After a brief second, his head slumped back. Marek was asked if
he had any last words, he uttered a few unintelligible syllables. An
official made a quick phone call from a wall phone in the champber and
immediately thereafter announced: “The execution process has commenced”.
Marek immediately began moving his lips, as if praying, his eyes closed. In
scant seconds his lips stopped moving, his face went slack, and at precisely
6:22 PM all movement of his chest ceased. At about 6:32 PM a white coated
individual made a cursory exam of Marek . At 6:34 PM the presiding official
made a second phone call and then immediately announced: “The execution
process has been concluded”. The pale brown shades descended. At 6:34 PM,
Wednesday, August 19th, 2009, justice prevailed. There are more
monsters like John Marek in this world, but this John Mareck will kill no
more. The world is a better place. |

Barack Hussein Obama was looking for a call girl.
He found three such girls in a local pub, a blonde, a brunette and a
redhead.
To the blonde he said,
'I am the President of the
United States.
Now how
much would it cost me to spend some time with you?'
She replied, $200.'
To the brunette he asked the same question.
Her reply was $100.
He then asked the redhead
Her reply was,
'Mr. President, if you can get my skirt up as high as my taxes, my pants as
low as my wages,
get that thing of yours as hard as the times we are living in, and keep it
rising like the price of gas,
keep me warmer than it is in my apartment and screw me the way you have
retirees,
then it isn't going to cost you a damn cent!' |

A big thank you to the

“half measures availed us nothing.” In Canada they call
“moderation management”
harm reduction …
maybe they do in

Our
14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year
old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed
Abbey.. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got
to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so
she dictated these words:
Dear God, Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is
with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have
her as my dog even though she got sick. I hope you will play with her. She
likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when
you see her You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her.. Love,
Meredith
We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and
addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it. Then Meredith
pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would
take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon
she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she
asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had.
Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch
addressed, 'To Meredith' in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside
was a book by Mr. Rogers called, 'When a Pet Dies..' Taped to the inside
front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On
the opposite page was the picture of Abbey &Meredith and this note:
Dear Meredith, Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big
help. I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn't sick anymore. Her spirit is
here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog.
Since we don't need our bodies in heaven, I don't have any pockets to keep
your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you
to keep and have something to remember Abbey by.. Thank you for the
beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending
it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you.
I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the
way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love.
Love, God |

CASH FOR HAGS: In 2024
under the dictatorship of O-Banana Care gambling, prostitution and drugs
have been legalized and the intemperance treatment crises has been resolved.
President Kander Bluff of the Nationalist Lunatics Anonymous Cult
www.lacult.com has now turned her attention to solving the ultimate
problem – The OHC – ‘Old Hag Crisis’ also referred to as “Switch A Bitch.”
After much consultation with her close advisers, the President has unveiled
her “Cash for Hags” program. With broad bipartisan support, and modeled
after the successful “Cash for Sex” program, the deal offers any married man
$8500 to replace his current old hag wife and marry a girl between the age
of 16 to 18. The government controlled banks might have already foreclosed
on your house but, you will still be comfortable with your young bride
sleeping in your new car which you purchased under the “Cash for Clunkers”
program back in 2009. To qualify your wife for relocation in the OHC program
there are certain requirements that she must meet. (1) She no longer wants
to be seen with you and she no longer talks or listens to you. (2) Her white
thighs are now a road map of varicose veins and she doesn’t want to have
your 8th child. (3) - (a) (b) (c) (h) she refuses to buy your
beer or feed your dogs. Every time she sneezes, coughs or laughs she leaks
and her exhaust pipe backfires and stinks. Her headlights are pointed
towards the ground. Her rear end is dragging and she has more defects than a
Conch cruiser. She has spent enough money on implants, tucks and lifts which
you could used to purchase a new super turbo powered truck or boat. With
passing of the 2016 OHC bill thousands of young females currently in
desperation crises mode will be taken off the market, making the even
younger girls available for the all the married men on Big Pine Key. There
has been a 460% increase of young single female illegal immigrants since the
passing of the “Cash for Babies” and automatic citizenship program started
in 2013. In addition, the anticipated surge of engagements, weddings,
receptions and liquor sales with this initiative will hopefully jump start
and stimulate the stagnant local economy. With increased spending on
recycled wedding dresses, liquor, shorts and sandals, wine, more beer, weed,
more booze and other necessary expenditures Big Pine Key should be a quieter
place to live. President Bluff has successfully resolved a crisis that many
experts have spent so many years trying to solve proving true once again her
campaign slogan “Switch a Bitch” is truly a great socialist program. On Big
Pine Key, the popular OHC program will continue in a different form as sober
good looking females are still a rare commodity in the area: starting
tomorrow all the local dealers will be requesting "cash for grass" under
this great OHC program. Under the “Switch A Bitch” program all the Old Hags
turned in for cash will be relocated to the newly constructed government
controlled Hags Housing Complex in the frozen Yukon tundra. The old hags
should be able to adjust quickly to the climate as they were already frigid
when shipped off. They will live there until the O-Banana Death Panel squad,
created back in 2010 under the National Heath Care plan, decides when they
should die. As with all socialist government programs some fraud is
expected. A certified copy of your current marriage license or a copy of
your divorce decree will be required to participate in the “Cash for Hags”
program… |

Hostile Environment
We
live in a wonderfully advanced society, but the environment around us today
is remarkably tough in one respect: there is food everywhere around us, in
large quantities, designed to sell and not necessarily to nourish us.
Supermarkets, convenience stores, restaurants, and the food companies that
supply them all are in business to make money, which means selling you more,
all the time, of whatever you can be convinced to buy and eat.
There's no one person to blame here -- all the players in the chain are just
trying to make a living. But what it results in is a constant wave of
pressure pushing food on you from every direction, food that may not be what
you want or need.
You can make your own choice.
Today
Each time
you purchase or prepare food throughout the day, remind yourself of your
focus and desire for eating better foods and finding your way in
environments that don't support you in your goal.
Once you
decide to listen to yourself and not to the environment, you start to eat
the food you need, and not what the food companies might want you to eat.
If you are thinking: I'm a busy person. How am I going to focus on
one more thing?
Try this instead: If I don't set the priorities for me and my family,
my environment will. I can take control right now with increased awareness,
instead of letting the environment do that |

Special
wastewater rules for the rich
It is a FACT
that environmentalists have proven that partially treated sewage is killing
the Florida reefs. According to researchers coral reefs stressed by
partially-treated sewage and other contaminants take much longer to heal
than previously thought, or in some cases just die. The 2010 wastewater
standards were partially mandated to help save the reef.
Monroe County
was given 10 years to sewer the Florida Keys and Last week the County
Commission and the Florida Keys Aqueduct have agreed that they cannot meet
the July, 1st 2010 standards. In the meeting they decided to take
the money they have left and spend it on the Duck Key wastewater treatment
plant expansion. Have you ever been to Duck Key? The Duck Key residents are
some of the wealthiest in Monroe County.
The Department
of Health is responsible for wastewater systems at private homes, nearly
half of the Keys sewage. It has been reported that less than 5000 of the
county’s 25,000 home sewage systems have any nutrient treatment at all. That
would mean there are nearly 20,000 septic tanks or leach fields polluting
the canals and stressing the reef.
Private
systems with flows greater than 1,500 gallons per day at homes or businesses
are required by the State to collect samples and document nutrient
treatment. The Monroe County Department of Health does not have a way to
identify those systems so they do not require sampling from any of them. The
residents that own homes with sewage systems greater than 1,500 gallons per
day are some of the wealthiest in Monroe County.
Everything in
this letter is factual and easy to document. |

[if
you don’t like any form of Governments sponsored healthcare, what are your
alternatives?] The beauty of a free market system is the imagination of the
people. Sam's started $4 generic prescriptions, that helps with drug costs
and the idea spread. Urgent care clinics started opening up everywhere,
that eases emergency room overcrowding. These are just the small beginnings
of making the health care system more effective, I'm sure more ideas are out
there on hold, waiting to see if the govt is going to take over
everything. Where a need exists, inventive people find a way to fill it, in
the process making more jobs and starting new businesses. If an idea doesn't
work, it fails, instead of being continued indefinitely by govt funds and
bureaucrats protecting their kingdoms. |

[Downstairs Enclosures]
I hope those people that do not support amnesty for existing downstairs
enclosures do not live in pre-firm (ground level) structures or mobile
homes. They will soon learn that FEMA wants to eliminate ALL dwellings that
are not elevated and they have a process in place to accomplish this goal.
If your home is damaged over 50% of the cost of the structure due to
flooding, FEMA will require you to elevate it at your cost. In other areas
of the nation, FEMA has used the home's original cost minus all
improvements and estimated cost of repairing the flood damage to trigger
this mandate! We must all stand together in opposition to any FEMA mandate,
or we will hang separately. |

This means if we started with ONE case, and it doubled daily for 1 month,

IF its a 30 day month. I
sure hope so because if its a 31 day month there'll be over a BILLION cases.

Offering a
truce to the [From the Right Guy]. I offered the info on tort reform
to actually show how statistics can lie. Such as the "facts "that when ice
cream sales surge in a city, street crime also surges. Therefore, ice cream
causes street crime. Of course the actual connection with street crime and
ice cream sales is hot summer nights.
I want medical
mal tort reform. Some additional facts and thoughts. The study didn't reveal
that 85% of medical mal cases are settled and sealed from the public.
Of the cases that go to trial 80% of the time doctors' win, showing there
are many frivolous suits where the plaintiff & attorney hope for a big pay
day. All torts offer about a 50-50 shot. Some states have created a number
of laws that have reduced filings, e.g., requiring affidavits from other
doctors from within the state outlining the actual malpractice at
filing. This reduced the number of "guns for hire" doctors from the game.
Additional hoops have been added that drive up the cost of bringing a
medical mal case to about $75,000. Imagine what the cost of defending is.
Another way to
curb frivolous medical mal cases is to develop "best practices" and if the
doctor follows them, the burden to prove medical mal is increased above the
"preponderance of the evidence," the usual civil standard of proof, to
"clear and convincing." The AMA has been grappling with this for a few
years. Of course two problems are not all doctors belong to the AMA and how
do you get agreement.
Also "best
practices" is a slippery slope because the Dems will use this in a
healthcare bill, making decisions of what treatment is required or paid for
in a public plan, placing your doctor in a quandary. I am opposed to a
public plan.
As to
controlling attorney fees I have an internal conflict. I believe as a
capitalist that government should stay out of setting fee amounts. Let the
market and the courts handle it. However, it really irks me in class-action
product liability lawsuits when plaintiff's attorneys make hundreds of
millions of dollars.
I never said I
published the paper that I gave the internet address. I said I published a
paper back in the 80's. I worked with the state legislature then to
implement tort reform.
As to the
clever names you call me, I will remain a Republican in an attempt to keep
the tent large enough to have any chance of winning. I don't think your need
to label and demonize folks are helpful. Your positions oftentimes are well
thought out.. |

Question for our county commissioners: Where is your sense of fiscal
responsibility to your constituents? I just got a notice that my ad valorem
solid waste assessment will be $396 this year - an increase of over 35%
above that of last year. In today's tight economy where jobs are scarce and
inflation is right around zero, how do you justify such an increase? Is this
the best bid you could find? If so, I suggest you look some more. Add this
to your outrageous $300 fee for a downstairs enclosure inspection we
shouldn't even have to endure, and your diddling around with the sewer
problem until it's become an overdue and incredibly costly fiasco, buying an
overpriced white elephant of a restaurant you can't sell for anything close
to what you wasted buying it, spending a fortune to sink a boat - you should
all be ashamed of yourselves. How about some rethinking and action to start
trying to unscrew that you've screwed up so badly? |

Here we go
again- the county wants to raise our garbage service assessment over 35% in
the coming year. How did they arrive at this figure? What is the
justification for this great increase all of a sudden? Did they simply (as
usual) ask how much the garbage folks wanted and let them take it (like FKAA
with our sewer no-bid fiasco)? Maybe it's time for another "bubba bust" by
the feds to clean up Monroe county again. For the last one in 1985 they
secretly investigated the county because the corruption went so high (even
to the state level) they couldn't let anyone in power in Florida know that
there was a hunt going on for the embedded slimeballs. What is it with this
place that brings out the worst qualities in its officials, something in the
water? We need another vaccination. |

[Fire
Today] Prescribed Fire Scheduled on
National Key Deer Refuge.
Fire management
officials at the National Key Deer Refuge plan to conduct a prescribed
burn on Friday, August 21rst beginning at 9:00 a.m. on
approximately 10 acres adjacent to the Koehn subdivision on Big Pine Key
(see map). The
objectives of the National Key Deer Refuge’s Fire Management Program are
1) to provide protection to private property and human lives against
uncontrolled wildfires that may result from un-managed fire-maintained
vegetative communities through vegetative fuel reduction, 2) to provide
protection to both natural and constructed resources from catastrophic
wildfires through fuel reduction, 3) to maintain biological diversity in
fire-maintained plant communities by prescribed fire and 4) to maintain
habitat for Service trust resources, including endangered and threatened
plant and animal species through prescribed fire.
The decision to ignite the fire will not be made
until a spot weather forecast is received from the National Weather
Service in Key West and the burn is authorized by the Florida Division
of Forestry on the morning of the burn. Additionally, a small test fire
will be set to ensure that prescribed conditions are met. If conditions
are present to conduct a safe burn, then 3-5 firefighters will ignite
the fire using drip torches on the ground, while other firefighters will
patrol the perimeter of the burn unit by foot and with small all-wheel
drive utility vehicles. Once the burn has progressed through the unit,
firefighters will use a sprinkler-like system to extinguish any
remaining embers.
Prescribed fire is the burning of vegetation based
on a prescription that takes into consideration fuel type, fuel
moisture, relative humidity, air temperature, wind speed, wind
direction, and other atmospheric conditions to ensure a safe and
successful burn. All prescribed fires must have approved plans and meet
set criteria authorized by agency fire experts. The prescribed burn
will also comply with all State of Florida open burning regulations. The
unit to be burned is composed primarily of pine rockland forest
habitat. Pine rockland habitat requires periodic burning to reduce the
density of palms and hardwoods in order to open up the mid-story canopy
and maintain rare herbaceous plant species such as the Big Pine
partridge pea and benefit wildlife.
All public lands within the burn unit and up to 50
feet around the perimeter (excepting public roads and private lands)
will be closed to all public access until the burn is declared out and
determined to be safe for public entry. Refuge staff will be stationed
at the corner of Big Pine Street and Pine Avenue to provide up-to-date
information on the status of the burns. Refuge biologists and fire
staff have completed pre-burn monitoring protocol, and will continue to
monitor the burn unit to ensure that ecological goals are met through
the adaptive management process.
Refuge fire management staff will conduct the burns
with assistance of fire staff from other south Florida refuges, the
Florida Division of Forestry, Monroe County Fire and Rescue, and
National Park Service. The Forest Service’s National Fire Lab will also
be installing monitoring equipment in the burn unit to document the
behavior of the fire, including soil moisture, heat levels, and flame
lengths. These data will be analyzed to create a fuel behavior model
specific to the pine rockland habitat of the Florida Keys, which will be
a critical tool for future planning and implementation of prescribed
fire in the National Key Deer Refuge.
The Refuge held two open house meetings on Big Pine
Key on Tuesday, July 14th to provide information to attendees
on the locations and operational plans for its 2009 burns. Fire
management officials were interviewed on the US 1 Radio Morning Magazine
on July 14th. The News Barometer published an article on the
refuge’s 2009 burn plans on July 17, 2009. Other burn units identified
in the meetings may be burned at a later date in August or September,
weather permitting. For more information, please contact Prescribed
Fire Specialist Jon Wallace
at (561) 436-2067
or Refuge Manager Anne Morkill at (305) 872-2239.

[Flies
and people with insect-sized brains] “I checked this out on
Goggle…I'm now a believer an idiot”. The gullibility of people like you
never ceases to amaze me. I did a quick check on Google too (I don’t
have a Goggle) and found all these comments:
No! I lived on a small island in the
Caribbean for 2 years which was known for having these bags everywhere.
When it wasn't raining there were flies everywhere including flying
around and landing on these silly bags. Either we had blind flies,
fearless flies, or the bags had no effect.
They work well as a mammoth repellent,
but that's about it. I've had bags of water hanging all over the house
and haven't been attacked by a single mammoth since I put them up.
My in-laws had these over their open
doorways in the summer to keep the flies out. They had seen this in town
at some of the shops and decided to give it a try. Needless to say, it
did not work, which perplexed me because I thought flies could not fly
under-water.
There are plastic bags full of water
decorating many of Austin's outdoor eateries. After much evaluation of
this technique at a variety of places I can sum this up very simply: it
does not work.
These are effective at keeping birds out
of trees, not bugs.
Fundamental methodological flaw: Mike
Stringham, a veterinary entomologist, meticulously counted droppings
left by flies on white spot cards. The results were conclusive: The
water bags attracted more flies.
I’ll bet you believe in all sorts of
irrational things like Korean fan death, the Virgin Mary appeared on
toast and that Randy and Monique are innocent. It is fools like you
that keep the human race from progressing. This nonsense is on the same
level as voodoo dolls and transubstantiation. |
|
[Healthcare] I have private
insurance through my employer, and I will not be eligible for the public
option when we finally get health insurance reform. If I were given the
option I would switch to a public option immediately. I have owned
shares in corporations and I have voted and made my opinions known and I
have had absolutely zero influence on their actions.
As a citizen of this great democracy I
have had my opinions heard by my elected representatives at all levels
and I find Government to be far more responsive to my queries than
private corporations ever were.
If you disagree with me and block health
insurance reform, be aware that when you do make a claim against a
private corporation for an illness you will be rejected, you will have
to threaten legal action and you will desperately wish that private
corporations were as responsive to your needs as government is. It's
time to put to bed the myth that government doesn't work. The workings
of your government are open and transparent. If you bothered to exercise
the privilege of democracy and attended a government meeting you will
see that. It's up to you to be an involved and responsible citizen
instead of bitching about government this and government that. Ask
Pfizer or Merck or Archer Daniels Midland if they care one bit about
what you think. You never got to vote for them and they won't do a thing
to help you—ever. |

The
Chinese are on a buying binge around the world snapping up any oil
producing company that's available. Petrobras is one of them. George
Soros (the main Dem funder that help put our president in the White
House) doubled his holdings in Petrobras in February, making him the
second biggest shareholder.
Here’s the rub: Obama
committed billions of dollars to underwrite Petrobras' offshore oil
exploration on the continental shelf, enriching Brazil and their oil
producers, while at the same time spitting in the face of the American
oil producers who won't be allowed to do the same thing right here at
home.
This is what is known
as real, in your face, corruption. Humor me for a moment, and reverse
this in your minds. If Bush had tried anything like this, he would have
been drawn and quartered on the White House lawn.

[Fund
Raiser] I hear there is another fund raiser this Saturday, this one
for Terri Miller at the Ramrod Tiki Bar. I have only met her once and
she seemed like a very nice lady and very entertaining. I also
understand that she has been a major contributor in many benefits for
other people whom bad times have fallen upon. Some of you may be
asking, when does this stop, well I'm guessing it never does.
As long as we all live on this planet
there will be people in need. The way I look at it is, I'd rather be
helping someone else out than needing the help myself. I know we all
come from different financial walks of life, but I do feel that we can
all look in our hearts and see if there is a dollar, or two, we can send
her way. I don't think anyone is asking you give up your rent money,
but maybe not having that last one or two beers and sending it to her
fundraiser could make a big difference. Don't be ashamed to throw a
dollar her way, it all adds up, and I don't think God is keeping an
accounting of who gives what. I know I'll feel better throwing in
whatever I can and I think you will too. |

[Socialist programs like Social Security,
Medicare and Veterans’ benefits are all bad] Veteran's benefits are
earned. Social Security is a farce that should never have been
enacted. I don't understand Medicare well enough to thoroughly condemn
it, but I do thoroughly condemn government's inefficient mishandling of
it in many cases. Rule of thumb:
government never
does anything better.
Private initiative and competition gets things done and makes

[Answers]
I see a lot of negativity from the conservatives and right-wingers about
almost anything coming from the left. It’s your right as an American to
give your opinion, but you know what’s better than opinions? Answers!
Let’s turn this around, if you don’t like any form of Governments
sponsored healthcare, or really anything from the current
administration. What are your alternatives? I’m getting tired of just
reading complaints, gripes, and nay-saying. Say something new, give an
alternative, or just let it go. Criticism is easy, leadership is hard. |

[Federal Sales Tax] Give all
illegal aliens visas and make them pay taxes on their earnings.
Easier and more efficient: just make everyone pay tax on what they
buy. You can hide earnings, but it's a lot tougher to dodge sales tax.
This type of tax would do away with the IRS, all tax preparers and all
tax attorneys. |

[Obama Bad] How much do you know
about Obama? Probably very little, even if you're read his two books.
Less has been reported about the life of this president than any
national figure in our history. Did the press take a vacation? Isn't
anyone interested? Sean Hannity did some digging, and devoted the entire
hour of his program last Sunday night to presenting his research.
So what happened to the Hannity report
set to air last Sunday night? We are not the only ones who wondered what
happened to the Hannity show last Sunday night. Better look at these
clips and forward to others that are interested before they are also
removed from view.
To everyone who thought the special about Obama was going to be on
Hannity. It was taken off. Here are the segments. You better watch now
before hey are removed too. Yes, the program was not aired Sunday so it
was googled and found the segments had been taken off of the Internet as
well. Wonder who did this?
Wonder who blocked this?
Is this our new government protecting
us? Here are the six segments if they haven't been removed before you
get to them.

Why Deer Ed needs a day off. |
|
[From the Right]
It’s great to be back
on the rock after couple of days in Bradford and Union Counties. I want
to thank the Spec Forces vet whose posting skewered a basher, the kind
words are appreciated. I guess the vet basher just chooses to ignore the
fact that Bill Clinton told us that he abhors the military, and that
neither Barak Obama nor his Chief Of Staff, Rahm Emmanuel ever served in
the military. If we listen to the basher, they are not to be respected
(he may have something there). All of our vets deserve our gratitude,
and more importantly, our respect. It's a shame that some of our
Vets earn our scorn for using their national service as a cudgel in
chasing political advantage. It’s like pawning medals, it dishonors
others. I made a serious error when I compared the “Staunch Republican”
to a skink. I was wrong, I apologize. The “Staunch Republican” told us
that he’s voted for a whole passel of Republican candidates, that he
refused to vote Republican this time because of Sarah Palin, and that is
the author of a scholarly paper about tort reform. I’ve got to wonder
how proud he is that his refusal to vote Republican was partially
responsible for Mr. Obama being elected. What a wonderful Republican
pose. He tells us that he cuts and pastes liberal focused and supportive
articles from Time Magazine, a notoriously liberal biased rag.
The “Staunch Republican” poster told us that he authored a paper. The
publisher of that paper was Public Citizen Congress Watch, a liberal
activist organization reported to be founded by Ralph Nader. The paper
is a political denunciation of G.W. Bush’s tort reform initiative which
was defeated by the Democrats. The document reports that in 2005
plaintiffs and their lawyers took $4.15 billion out of our healthcare
system in medial tort awards, the vast majority of which were small
settlements made to pay off plaintiff attorneys simply to avoid a more
costly lawsuit. That was a big, big contributor to the high cost of
everybody's health care bills. The complaining poster claims to be an
opponent of tort reform. The paper itself say’s: “This report was
authored by Public Citizen’s Congress Watch Legislative Assistant Seth
Oldmixon”. So, if the complaining poster is Mr. Oldmixon, I doubt that
he is actually a Republican. If the complaining poster is not Mr.
Oldmixon, then he is trying to mislead you and I.
I really wonder
why the complaining poster refuses to simply come out of his self
imposed Republican closet and proclaim to the world that he is a liberal
Democrat, he sure has all the credentials. It’s not like he’d be in
Democrat drag. He shouldn’t be ashamed, most liberals are really fine
and decent folks, they’re just misguided. Some experts argue that it’s
genetic; some argue that they’re born that way. Still others claim that
it’s learned behavior. Who knows? I do know that many liberal Democrats
are successfully “changing”. I was wrong to label the complaining poster
a skink. I should have said that he is as much of a Republican as an
Oxpecker (rino tickbird) is a Bald Eagle |

Marathon school kids on the swimming team have to practice at a
resort swimming pool next to the pool bar. The high school does not have
a swimming pool. Why in the world shouldn't these kids have their own
pool after spending millions on a new school? I think every school
official should be replaced by some honest people, if there are any. You
school people should clean up your mess and set an example for our
future adults. You should be ashamed of yourselves, but I doubt you are. |
|
[Shopping in the Keys]
Stores offer little over
base level items and the prices are nuts. Forget buying electronics or
decent furnishings, it just isn't here. |
|

[Fly Bag] The Stuffed Pig in Marathon is the first place I had
seen the bags of water to repel Flies. I believe the flies see the bag’s
shiny organic sheen and think it is a much larger fly, and stay away. |

I noticed the

[Sewers
Too] I heard on an Orlando TV station yesterday that three counties
in central Florida have been ordered to stop dumping sewage in the Lake.
The cost has been estimated at $20,000 per household. It will come up in
the coming legislature. It'll be interesting to see what happens. |
|
[Local Benefits] Kudos to everyone
who supports the multitude of benefits that occur in the Lower Keys.
While I fully understand how great it is to be involved and support
these big hearted community events (I have participated in many of these
events), very often I have seen the organizers or participants pressure
the folks who are donating their time, equipment, energy and
names (which draw attendees) to also surrender their tips. All things
considered, that's a bit much. Some donating their talent are not
wealthy, are in their own tight financial circumstances, and do go out
of their way, in good faith, to lend their support. So when contributors
of so much energy get tipped, my opinion is that it's not too much to
ask that they get some measure of their expenses covered without being
guilted out. There's a difference between greed and what's reasonable.
Gas and materials are not too much to ask without humiliating a
contributor; we need to be careful and not take blatant advantage of
good hearted people. Kudos also to Sugarloaf Tiki Lodge for addressing
and correcting the 50/50 winner who was pressured to hand over their
winnings. Benefits are a team effort. |

Downstairs enclosures are about people trashing out decent neighborhoods
by illegally renting to transit trash, so their mortgage can be paid
because they over bought properties they shouldn't have. Also the
government doesn't have the means to tax the property owners to get
their cut. No matter what people do, they should not be allowed to do
anything that the rest of the area does not want to allow.

[People
who drive selfishly] I have an example of what is truly frustrating
and what leads to these complaints. A couple of mornings ago, I was
southbound from Cudjoe Key to Key West, as I do every day. Traffic was
moving at 5 mph below the speed limit. The traffic was fairly heavy, so
that is to be expected. However, there is a 4-lane highway on Boca
Chica Key where one would expect a little bit of relief. A black
Chevrolet pick-up truck with tinted windows decided to drive in the left
lane at exactly 55 mph, not passing the cars properly driving in the
right lane. No one was able to pass this guy because of his
selfishness. By the time we reached Stock Island and a couple of cars
were able to get around him, there was no shortage of middle fingers in
the air and people purposely cutting him off.
Not only was he improperly driving in the
left lane, but his actions created dangerous road rage in other
drivers. This is not the only person who does this. I routinely see a
small silver Suzuki SUV doing the same thing. These are the type of
people that need to be flogged. |

[Healthcare]
If the healthcare system works, that means we won't have to shell out

[Optical

Still not sure? Let me prove it: all I did was add black circles over
the squares.

[Health Care]
While it is very true that the President and Dems in Congress have said
"Medicare and the VA will see no cuts in benefits", they also have said
"There will be decreases in reimbursements for Medicare and VA co-pay
programs under a Gov’t run program"
Translation: you are
still entitled to same benefits, but the Gov’t payments to your doctor
is going down. Do you still think your doctor will be willing to accept
Medicare and VA co-pay? Get ready to have your out-of-pocket costs take
off like a rocket. Image this, you have reasonable cost or if you are
poor, free health care coverage under the Gov’t run program, but you
still need private health care supplemental insurance to cover the huge
out-of-pocket costs you are now responsible for. Don't kid yourself,
this is what is coming.
Did you really think
you were going to get world class health care for free or next to
nothing? what is wrong with you that you not only think that, but
believe you should or are entitled to get that? |

[Alien
Healthcare] Give all illegal aliens visas and make them pay taxes on
their earnings. Those taxes will help pay for their health care. As it
stands now, wetbacks pay no taxes and they all get free healthcare and
education for their children. We now pay for all illegal aliens’
healthcare and we pay for the education of their spawn. We should drop
our objections to giving them visas for that reason alone.

Randy Acevedo’s
Facebook is still rocking. I found the re –election clip a riot as the
money they plundered from our small rural county school district was
probably used, not just to pay for the clip, but the equipment used to
make it! What a shame. I am going to write a book on “entitlement and
the human condition”. So many people feel that we little people actually
owe them something. Their greed is compulsory, which helps them sleep at
night. If you break the law, file it under compulsion in your brain,
never feel like you did anything wrong. Like a flasher or peeping Tom or
having sex in men’s restrooms. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Randy-Acevedo/21071622964 |

Talk
of socialized medicine is a distraction. President Obama has
explicitly stated that single payer health care (Medicare or the VA
systems are examples) will not be offered. The insurance reform plan is
designed to cover everyone, deny coverage to no one and help those too
poor to afford insurance coverage to pay for it. There is no doubt that
single payer would be the cheapest most effective way to go, but
misinformation and fear have made that option a non-starter. If private
health insurance were working this debate would not have been joined in
the first place.
I find it funny that for conservatives the budget deficit is only a
problem when liberals offer working Americans some help. I recall
President Reagan saying deficits didn't matter when he was busy spending
money we didn't have on the military. He conquered the Soviet Union, now
President Obama stands to offer every working American health care
security. You supported the President then, support this President now! |

So a Key West kid senselessly beats a
homeless man so badly, the homeless man is sent to the emergency
room in need of staples in his head. After leaving the scene of the
crime he is arrested later and put in jail for assault with a deadly
weapon. After 2 weeks in jail under an enormous bond, he somehow gets a
bond reduction hearing.
At the hearing are several elected Key
West officials--including the Mayor, a couple of City Commissioners and
a whose-who of (don't say bubbas) “KW society”. They were all there to
speak on his behalf to get his bond reduced. No one knows where the
beat-up homeless man is. The kicker is that you readers are finding out
about this for the first time from me telling you. If you don't think
anything is wrong with this then “Hello bubba.” |

Fashion police are one of my big
pet peeves. So long as the private parts are well covered, without the
teasing 'what-might-slip-out-any-second' effect, and the outfit is
clean, who gives a rat's rear end what someone else wants to wear? It's
nobody else's business. Fashion has to be the single biggest rip-off
foisted on other humans. Now as far as pregnant women, they,
especially, ought to be allowed to go for comfort, not flash! This time
of year it can't be comfortable no matter what they wear. |

[Guns
for Health Care] You assume because he was carrying a gun that he
was a right wing nut. How do you know he was not an Obama Healthcare
supporter and was only carrying a gun so folks wouldn't mess with him?
You don't know? Arizona has an Open Carry law which lets law abiding
citizens carry weapons in the open. It is his right to do so.
What didn't help the matter much was the
Diane Rehm Show on NPR, Aug 19th, where she went on about guns at public
events with her panel and ratcheted the discourse up with references to
machine guns, assault rifles, loaded weapons and the like. No one on her
panel even made a reference to this man’s right to openly carry a weapon
in public. And are you ready for this? No one knows if the weapon was
even loaded! The Secret Service didn't seem to be bothered, so why
should anyone else? Please remember that everyone has the Constitutional
right to be stupid. |

[Arrest
in boat motor theft] Cudjoe Key. A man who stole a boat motor and
fled from deputies Tuesday night was arrested Thursday night, the
Sheriff's Office says. Marcelino Acosta Jr., 28, was charged with
grand theft, burglary, fleeing and eluding and reckless driving. Acosta
allegedly was seen Tuesday night in a Palo De Oro Drive driveway where a
boat was parked, and deputies arrived to find its motor gone.
Acosta's car later was spotted near Mile Marker 101, where he allegedly
sped away, ditched the vehicle at the end of Gun Club Road and ran into
the woods. The stolen motor was in the back of the vehicle, reports say.
Acosta was listed as the owner of the car, deputies said, and a warrant
was issued for his arrest. He was picked up on Cudjoe Key

[Flies]
We went to a restaurant on Sunday for breakfast, and we sat in the
enclosed patio section. We happened to notice a couple of Ziploc baggies
pinned to a post and a wall. The bags were half filled with water, each
contained 4 pennies, and they were zipped shut. Naturally we were
curious! The server told us that these baggies kept the flies away! So
now we were even more curious. We actually watched some flies come in
the open window, stand around on the window sill, and then fly out
again. And there were no flies in the eating area. This morning I
checked this out on Goggle. Below are comments on this fly control idea.
I'm now a believer.
~Many people swear that a zip-lock bag filled half-way with water and
attached over entry-ways will repel flies. No one yet knows how or why
it works, but there is speculation that it has something to do with the
way the moving water refracts light. If you have tried this please use
the comments form at the bottom of the page to share your results with
the rest of us.
~I did tried the Ziploc bag and pennies this weekend. I have a horse
trailer with full LQ. The flies were very bad this weekend while I was
camping. I put the baggie with pennies above the door. Not one fly came
in the trailer. The horse trailer part had many. I’m not sure why it
works but it does!
~Fill a Ziploc bag with water and 5 or 6 pennies and hang it in the
problem area. In my case it was a particular window in my home. It had a
slight but significant passage way for insects. Every since I have done
that, it has kept flies and wasps away. Some say, that wasps and flies
mistake the bag for some sort of other insect nest and are threatened by
it.
~I swear by the plastic-bag-of-water-trick I have them on side porch by
our house entry and all around the basement door. We saw these in
Northeast MO at an Amish grocery store and have used them since. They
say it works because a fly sees a reflection and won't come around.
~The science behind Ziploc bags of water. My research found that each
of the millions of molecules of water presents its own prism effect and
given that flies have a lot of eyes, to them it's like a zillion disco
balls reflecting light, colors and movement in a dizzying manner. When
you figure that flies are basically prey for many other bugs, animals,
birds, etc., they simply won't take the risk of being around that much
perceived action. I moved to a rural area and thought these
"hillbillies" were just yanking my city-boy chain but I tried it, it
worked immediately! We went from hundreds of flies to seeing the
occasional one, but he doesn’t hang around long. |

world—Web2.0. The first UK site to charge was going to be
The Sunday Times. Every
other news organization carried the story. The BBC suggested people
might pay to see the exclusive Michael Jackson rehearsal footage which
The Sun’s website had
published a few days before.
Oh and last week,
News Corp reported a $3.4 billion loss.
I thought I
would mention the loss as no one seems to be talking about it. On the
other hand, everyone is talking about charging for internet content.
Will it really be the case that some time soon, everyone will be
charging for content? Will it be the case that to read this blog and
better ones, you will be getting out your credit card to fill the
coffers of Web2.0? |

[Healthcare] Right now you're
dealing with insurance companies arguing whether they'll pay for your
procedure. Next you'll have gov’t employees deciding if you can even
have the procedure. How much luck have you had lately influencing any
gov’t decision? |

America is a conservative nation.
It always has been. I don’t like our selfishness which is a conservative
trait. We all talk a good game about compassion, but when it comes to
doing something important about compassion we say let the private sector
take care of it--which they don't. |

[Money Where Your Mouth Is] The
1/4 Truth Guy makes one thing very clear, they would have to pry
his hands of off his Medicare (socialized medicine) to get him to go
with private insurance. As long as he clutches on to his Medicare he
remains the biggest hypocrite on this website. Practice what you preach
my hypocritical friend. |

[Downstairs Enclosure Inspections]
Why is our County Commission not asking FEMA to trust unincorporated
Monroe County to self-regulate FEMA mandates without downstairs
enclosure inspections? Why are they supporting lifetime annual mandatory
downstairs enclosure inspections and fees when incorporated Key West,
Marathon, Islamorada, Key Colony Beach and Layton are trusted by FEMA to
self-regulate FEMA mandates without onerous mandatory downstairs
enclosure inspections? ~Citizens not Serfs

Does anyone have any information on a homicide investigation on
Caribbean Drive East in Summerland last weekend? I saw it in the calls
for service on the MCSO web site, but have not found info about what
happened in the local news. |

[Speeders] The law that requires
you to pull over if there is a certain numbers of cars behind you only
applies if you are going under the speed limit. There is no law
that requires you to pull over for speeders if you are going the speed
limit. Plus, if you ever walked on the shoulder of the road you will
notice that is where all of the nails etc end up. So each time you pull
over to the side of the road for speeders to pass, you increase the risk
of getting a flat tire. I'm sure when you are changing your tire a
speeder will not stop to help you—he’s in too much of a hurry. |

[Fund Raisers] The person that wrote in about being harassed into
giving their 50/50 winnings to the person who the benefit was for is
absolutely correct. It was a horrible moment on a beautiful day. We
couldn't stop it without provoking a larger scene. We who ran the
benefit have already decided to correct this and will do so. I apologize
for what happened. We were so embarrassed! We're sorry. |

[From the Right Guy]
wrote, The
complaining poster is as much of a Republican as a skink is a peacock.
Let’s see, I voted for every Republican presidential candidate since
1980 until the last election when I didn’t vote because of the vice
presidential candidate. I have voted for the last five Republican
gubernatorial candidates as well as senate candidates.
I suggested sometime ago we look into cooperatives as an alternative to
a public option. You thought the idea had some merit. I was looking for
compromise and it still may have some traction.
As to my cut and paste from Time Magazine, I did. It’s been Ed’s policy
to not acknowledge where these cuts and pastes come from. I read 5 news
stories on this subject including one from Drudge. On the other hand you
offered your opinion from a blog. Wow, a real great news source, totally
reliable. Note that I only pointed out one of your lies about Obama’s
lies. Thus, I agreed with your other two “lies.”
Your uncompromising opinions and overbearing ego are perfect examples of
what you and others are doing to the party. If there is not a larger
tent of Republicans, the party is doomed. You seem to feel that if
anyone does not agree with your rhetoric they are “liberal” Democrats.
Despite folks like you I stay a Republican because I want some voice in
the candidates offered by our party. Now let me piss you off: You
love to complain about the lack of medical mal practice tort reform in
the healthcare proposals. I published a study on this subject back in
the 80s. I invite you to read the Public Citizen’s analysis of
malpractice payments as reported in the National Practitioner Data Bank
Public Use File for the years 1990 to 2005. You can find the study at
http://www.citizen.org/documents/NPDB%20Report_Final.pdf
Key findings: medical malpractice payments are actually declining,
payments correspond to severity of injury, patient safety is the real
crisis, improving patient safety will save lives. |

[Rear View Mirrors
Bad] You are not going to believe this. This article shows the
stupidity of people too lazy to do things correctly. Auto mirrors have
for a long time been an accident-causing problem because the auto
manufacturers do not design mirrors to see around you, they design
mirrors for sexy styling to go along with the body styles to sell cars.
Ask a tractor trailer driver if he would prefer mirrors from a Corvette,
instead of those big beautiful mirrors that work. This article proves
the incompetence of the nitwits who are only there for the money. When
your life depends on a tiny piece of glass, turn your bloody head and
look around b | |
