[Scanning Money] I just noticed that the front of a hundred dollar bill is light blue while the back is still green. I think that modern scanners can no longer scan hundred dollar bills? At least my Brother scanner won’t. It’ll scan every thing else. |

[Taxes] For those who say Florida has no income tax, this article explains: Florida has the most regressive tax structures in the country because the legislature has repeatedly gutted corporate income taxes and hiked sales taxes to compensate. Most states have tax codes that are rigged to benefit the wealthy. Because it’s mostly the wealthy who are the ones who make the laws. Link |

![]() The Key Largo, Tavernier and Islamorada Fire & Rescue Departments were absolutely amazing, with their breathtaking displays and respectful greetings. The Florida Keys Aqueduct Authority shared their beautifully fresh and cold water with these wounded veterans, as these gracious offerings came from the compassionate staff manning their decorative booth. The Florida Keys Electric Cooperative greeted these riders with a remarkable display of warmth and appreciation. The awe-inspiring Sheriff’s Department “motorcycle corps” was absolutely spectacular, as they protected and safely guided these disabled riders to their first destination. State Attorney Dennis Ward, Sheriff Rick Ramsay, Mayor Holly Raschein, Veterans Affairs Director Cathy Crane and Chaplain Tim Linck lovingly welcomed these Wounded Warriors, as they disembarked from their bus at the Upper Keys Veterans of Foreign Affairs Post 10211. Upon their arrival they were treated to sumptuous pastries and deliciously brewed coffee donated by Dunkin Donuts. Our neighbor, Key Largo Improvement Center, came to our rescue and provided us with a vehicle and some incredibly wonderful and knowledgeable employees, who mounted an attractive American Flag atop our VFW Post. Chairperson of the School Board Dr. Sue Woltankski and Principal Laura Lietaert enthusiastically welcomed and attentively guided these injured veterans to the restrooms located at the high school. The dignified, reverenced and patriotic fervor of American Legion Post 145 inspired, uplifted and encouraged these Wounded Warriors to proceed on their trek through the Florida Keys. Although our school district was closed during this event; students, children, parents and some teachers still sacrificed their time to make certain these Wounded Warriors were greeted appropriately. I was treated to meet with the Marathon High School’s Girls Basketball team, as they chose to gather and pleasantly welcome these veterans with their coach and chaperone. The dignified and distinguished manner in which the “Coconut Telegraph” and our extended communities eagerly and authentically embraced these wounded veterans is a testament to our loving-kindness and greatness as a people. Thank you so very, very much. Sincerely, John Donnelly Purple Heart Recipient/Wounded Warrior Rider |
