| [Cruel Deer Refuge] We have a small deer who is very sickly and today its guts were hanging out its ass. Dragging on the ground. We were helpless and it is a terrible thing to see. I called the Deer Refuge (10 AM on Wednesday) who said to call 911. I called 911 who gave me the FWS number. I called it and it said to call 911. I called 911 who gave me another number that when called said to call 911. I called 911 and got another number in upper Florida who said to call 911. I called that number and got the alligator nuisance hotline and a recording to call 911. I called 911 and got another FWS in another city that said to call 911. I called 911 and this time the dispatcher said she would send a Deputy. I refused because no deputy knows anything about sick deer as much as I do. I told her that and that I didn’t want the deputy to shoot the deer either. Then I gave up. I call that run-around animal cruelty.
I seem to remember about a month or two ago that there was a news item that the Refuge would start answering calls about sick and damaged deer instead of ignoring them as they have mostly done in the past. I guess not, just words. Saying how much they care about the deer are only words. Words that make them feel good but do nothing for the deer. When it comes to actually caring for the deer they are pitiful in their neglect. I’ve lived in the refuge for 60 years and have heard this lip service too often. |

| [I’m Tim Urbanski, a Big Pine Key resident since 2014, running for Utility Board Member Seat D. Historically, the Utility Board was 5 Key West residents, however, since 2018, Lower Keys residents occupy 2 seats. My background is built on a foundation of service. Directly from high school to Pennsylvania Military College as a Vietnam Veteran 1968/1969 I concluded my US Army service. My career continued in Civil Service, US Navy/DOD, for 37 years; then into the private sector. These diverse roles provided me with extensive experience, technical knowledge & leadership skills necessary to navigate complex utility oversight. Now fully retired & active in several local organizations, I have the time and dedication to serve our community. If elected to Seat D, I commit to representing the interests of all residents and businesses from the 7-Mile Bridge to Key West. I ask for your vote to bring experienced, local representation to our Utility Board. |

| [Friday Joke] I’ve told you this before, but it bears repeating. Once you gentlemen reach a certain age, it’s time to leave those younger women alone and find yourself a nice older companion that can recognize the signs of a stroke. The life you save may be your own. |
[“If someone is truly here legally, competent legal representation should be stepping up immediately, not cashing checks while families get dragged through the system”] That is not true. My friend is here legally and has the papers to prove it. Her papers are valid and expire next year. Her lawyer presented the documents to the judge and asked what the charge was and why she was arrested. The judge couldn’t find any charge but still ordered her locked up until ICE could provide a reason for her arrest. The lawyer proved she was legal, but the courts are under orders to export 1000 people a day, so they sent her from Big Pine Key to one of their concentration camp in Louisiana. This is not an isolated case but one right here on Big Pine Key of someone many of us know |

| [Hate] The BBC finds anti-immigration AI videos traced to overseas fakers. The “Great British People” Facebook page, which purports to be from Yorkshire, has had 1.3 million views for its latest video of an elderly white British man crying about his pension. Other videos show reporters discussing “the overwhelming scale of mass immigration” and asking viewers if they miss “the Britain we used to know”. But it is not clear whether the creator of the videos knows the UK at all: the account is really run by someone based in Sri Lanka. |

| [Friday Joke] A old man is walking through the woods when he hears a voice calling him. He looks down and sees a frog. “Kiss me,” says the frog, “and I’ll turn into a beautiful princess.” The man picks up the frog and puts it in his pocket. The frog protests, “Why aren’t you kissing me?” The man replies, “At my age, I’d rather have a talking frog.” |
