Kahlua el Cubano (Cuban Style Liqueur)

1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
Boil together for five minutes
Wisk in 2/3 cup Instant Bustello Coffee (original formula is 1/2 cup instant American coffee)
Cool then add
1 quart vodka
2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or half of a vanilla bean split lengthwise)
1/8 teaspoon almond extract (optional)
1 teaspoon cocoa powder
You can drink it right away if you use vanilla extract
If you use a vanilla bean age for two weeks then remove the bean.
Yields 40 ounces (Fills a 1.75 liter bottle)

Honey Method
Use equal parts of honey instead of white and brown sugar. This method leaves a residue in bottom of bottle so you must decant if giving as a gift (drink what’s left).
Add 1 teaspoon glycerin per bottle to add extra body instead of adding more sugar to thicken (optional).
Yields 40 ounces (Fills a 1.75 liter bottle)

Low Carb Method
1/2  cup Splenda For Baking
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons Splenda brown sugar
2 cups water
Boil together for five minutes

Whisk in 7 ounces of Instant Bustello Coffee and 1 teaspoon cocoa powder.
Cool then add 1 quart vodka, 2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
1/8 teaspoon almond extract (optional)

Yields 40 ounces (Fills a 1.75 liter bottle)
