Friday’s image of the tire exploding happens a lot if they don’t use an inflation cage.  A truck mechanic where I worked years ago, was cut in half when this happened, and the locking ring sliced through him!  Those rings can blow out even while the vehicle is on the road.
[Spy] Key West man accused 52-year-old Mariusz Swiecicki of Key West of placing tracking devices on two people’s cars. Key West detectives’ investigation dates to Nov. 8 when two people went to police after receiving cell phone notifications alerting them that an unrecognized AirTag was detected near them and tracking their location. [Wounded Warrior Soldier Ride] Wounded Warrior Bicycle Ride will be taking place on Friday, January 10th 2025. All of the Wounded Warriors, along with their Support Staff and those wishing to greet them disembarking form their buses and encourage them as they set out on their journey, will be meeting in front of “The Armory Speakeasy” restaurant on US1 at VFW Post 10211 at about 7:45AM on said date. It means a lot to these Disabled and Injured Veterans to feel the warmth and gratitude coming from their fellow citizens, as they begin and attempt to complete this challenging therapeutic event that they’ve been training for.
The magnificent support that they’ve received from our citizens on their ride South along US1, as they cycle to their first rest stop at Coral Shores High School has been out of this world. Along with School Staff, Administrators, Parents and our CSHS and Plantation Key School Students; our courageous Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, Fire/Rescue Departments, Ambulance Corps, Florida Electric Cooperative, Florida Aqueduct Authority and the esteemed American Legion Post 145, will be there to greet these Wounded Warrior Cyclists. Sherriff Rick Ramsay and his dedicated deputies, along with all of their support personnel, will protect and safely guide these disabled riders as they bicycle on US1 through the Florida Keys. The enthusiastic and grateful greetings that have been extended to our Visiting Warriors are absolutely breathtaking. A deep and heartfelt thanks is extended to all for their support in creating this cathartic and therapeutic event for these Disabled Veterans. Thank you so very, very much for the more than 20 years that you’ve allowed the healing and growth associated with this activity to take place. Hope to see you again this year.
With Love, Blessings and Respect Always,
John Donnelly

Some of the best advice I heard as a young man was never put off until tomorrow what can also be done day after tomorrow.  That has become one of my guiding principles.
Surveillance around the world.
I had an operation in the dentist’s office yesterday and she gave me Tylenol and it just about knocked me out. I don’t take pills and this one really screwed me up. Does this happen to every one?
The ancient Egyptians are often credited with domesticating felines, though in 2004, archaeologists found a 9,500-year-old cat buried in Cyprus — suggesting cats may have been living alongside humans earlier than previously thought. Still, Egyptians likely helped transform cats from the tiny, wild creatures they once were to the lazy furballs we now snuggle with; some historians believe the Egyptians selectively bred housecats, helping their numbers flourish and giving them the temperaments we now enjoy (or at least tolerate) today.
Okay, but here’s what I don’t understand. Predatory animals generally have coats that make them less visible to prey; tabby (like my Tiger). Stripes & spots. So where did tuxedo genes, like my Freddie’s, come from?

[Sticking It to the Man] Etienne Constable received a letter in July 2023 from Seaside, California, asking him to conceal the boat he’d had parked in his driveway for about four years, The Washington Post reported. The city said boats and trailers must be “screened on the side and front by a 6-foot fence.” Constable installed a fence — and hired his neighbor, mural artist Hanif Panni, to paint a photorealistic image of the boat and the rest of the driveway on the side of the fence that faces the road. The mural was completed in early May. “We kind of hit the sweet spot between following the rules and making an elegant statement to the contrary,” Constable said. Nick Borges, Seaside’s city manager, admired the work and said, “The only action I’m going to take is a high five, and that’s it.”

All clocks are 30 seconds late. OK, this is going to sound crazy: I believe all clocks are 30 seconds late. Let’s get a few things out of the way: this is neither about time zones, nor leap seconds. It’s not about synchronization of clocks, and it’s not about relativity or any obscure corner of physics. I’m talking about everyday clocks. Link
