| McDonald’s said that they’ll invest $8.5 billion over the next decade in the “NEXT” plan, which includes: Modernizing stores with features like lockers for delivery and pickup. Retraining millions of workers through what global chief people officer Tiffanie Boyd described as the largest upskilling effort in the brand’s history. Adopting a new AI-powered ordering system nicknamed Archy. Developing and rolling out new products, including protein-based items geared toward GLP-1 users. The investment will cost about $800,000 per U.S. location, Borden estimates, with McDonald’s helping franchisees shoulder the added cost through rent relief and capital support. In March 1953, London police discovered the bodies of three young women hidden in a wall at 10 Rillington Place, a dingy rowhouse in Notting Hill. On searching the building, they found another body beneath the floorboards, then an array of human bones in the garden. They launched a nationwide manhunt for the tenant of the ground-floor apartment, a softly spoken former policeman named Reg Christie.  [Killing The Deer] So besides car hits, what do Key deer die of? By far the most comprehensive study of Key deer morbidity and mortality was done by a group of researchers from U. Georgia with assistance from biologists working at the Key Deer Refuge. Between 1986 and 2000 they necropsied 170 of 442 found-dead or euthanized Key deer. Their findings: First, an overwhelming number of the dead Key deer were male, and the vast majority of the investigated cases were car strikes (74.7%). The accepted explanation is that newly matured male bucks are either forced out of their native territory or leave to search for new grounds, exposing them to crossing roads and getting hit by cars, vs. females who tend to stay within their old established neighborhoods.
The second most noticed Key deer mortality cause listed in the study (published in 2002) is “Chronic purulent infections”. These are bacterial infections that, in deer, most commonly infect the pedicle (antler base) and make their way into the brain, gradually impeding the animal’s function. So here’s another handicap against male Key deer. I have personally witnessed 2 such cases – one the first year we moved here when an incredibly thirsty buck stumbled down our property somehow locating our pool, but it was obvious he couldn’t see. He had multiple oozing, fowl-smelling wounds on his head and body, and had trouble with coordination while walking. We had him euthanized on-site. Link |

 [Killing Wasps] A mixture of pure Boric Acid and apple juice, set out in a container will kill all the wasps, but not bees, in a 1-mile radius. In the past 6 months only 1 out of 6-8 deer deaths that SaveOurKeyDeer.com directly know of have been killed been logged in the data base, so huge errors. Over 100-120 Key deer are known to be killed by cars each year (scientific documentation) -10-14% of world population. So stop counting dots on a map and read present day science. |
