[Death Train] Brightline from Miami to Orlando death toll surpasses 180, but safeguards are still lacking. Brightline trains have hit vehicles at least 167 times since starting operations in 2018 Link
[Prison] Does anyone know what the difference is between a concentration camp or a detention center, other than one was for Jews and the other is for Latinos?
[Exploding Drunk Turkey] The Madison, Wisconsin Fire Department responded to a boozy blaze on June 15. Someone reported an oven fire around 6 p.m. The caller told firefighters they had been cooking a turkey for about eight minutes when the oven door blew open. First responders removed the oven from the apartment, and the fire went out. They later learned the turkey had been marinated in tequila, and they believe the accumulated vapors from the alcohol were not properly vented from the oven, which caused the fire. No one was hurt (except the turkey).
[Friday Joke] My daughter’s having a bunch of kids over this Saturday to stare at their phones.
[“The Great Cheez Noodle scandal”] The Doodles contained in the smaller bag may indeed contain more noodles. The size of said noodles may be smaller, thus more noodles. More info is needed as to the size of them. I refuse to say “use your noodle.”
[“Fluorouracil cream”] My wife has been prescribed this for a pre-cancerous thing on the side of her nose. The thing is gone. I don’t know if this helps you, I hope it does.
Mosquitoes can sense our body heat. The insects have poor vision, so rely on a combination of other cues to sniff out hosts. Link
[Friday Joke] In the event of a serious hurricane put some hot dogs in your pockets. That way the rescue dogs will find you first.
[Fashion] The iconic blue-and-white striped pattern of French sailor shirts was originally used by Napolean III to spot sailors who fell into the sea.
[Unedited Mouth] Sometimes the thoughts in my head get bored and stroll out of my mouth. This is never a good thing.
[“Flouracil”] I’ve been using the stuff on and off for years. If you apply it to your face it burns like hell — but it does work! It has the same chemical in it they use for colon cancer (if I understand correctly). It will leave a rash-like appearance. I’ve lived in Fl and the Keys for years, in Tennessee doctors take one look at my hide and know I was a Floridian for years.
Note: do not let pets lick your skin after application.
The Microcar is making a quiet comeback—just not in America. Many European countries (and automakers) are still producing tiny economy cars to scurry around tight city streets. These “microcars” represent a significant departure from the traditional view of road transportation in the United States. Link
[“Flouracil”] Would the original poster about Efudex please let us know how it worked or not. So many of us in the Keys have skin cancer. Like the Tombstone in Key West says, “If I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.”
[Internet Speed Record] Japan just smashed the internet speed record to absolute bits. You thought your gigabit service was good? Try 1.2 petabits. That’s roughly 4 million times faster than typical home broadband. Link
[Friday Joke] Idolizing a politician is like believing the stripper really likes you.

[Friday Joke] If I was a plastic surgeon I would put a squeaky toy in every breast implant.
[Real or Not] How does your brain know something is real? Your brain blends imagination and reality—sometimes too well. Link
[Alligator Alcatraz] I just signed a petition with the gender justice organization UltraViolet (WeAreUltraViolet.org) demanding that the e-commerce website, Etsy, take down all merchandise glorifying “Alligator Alcatraz” in the Florida Everglades. Alligator Alcatraz is a concentration camp. It’s an isolated tent and trailer encampment cheaply set up to cram in thousands of migrants, stripping them of due process and humanity in dangerously sweltering conditions in the Florida Everglades. MSNBC columnist Ali Velshi summed it up best: “Welcome to the new American dystopia, where alligators are cops and humans are treated like animals.”
We cannot let Etsy promote and profit from the pain of our immigrant friends and family members. Etsy relies on women sellers and consumers to keep it afloat. We must use our power to hold the company accountable.
Will you join me and sign the petition to Etsy CEO Josh Silverman, demanding his company take down all merchandise glorifying the Alligator Alcatraz concentration camp in South Florida? We have to reach out to Amazon too, which is selling the same hateful junk. Thank you for taking action with me! Petition.  Link
How the Speed of Light changed everything we know about the universe. Imagine a speed so extraordinary that nothing in the universe can surpass it—299,792 kilometers per second, the speed of light in a vacuum. According to Einstein’s theory of relativity, this speed acts as an unbreakable cosmic speed limit, shaping our understanding of physics and reality itself. Light’s constant speed means information, energy, or matter cannot travel faster, fundamentally influencing how we perceive events in space and time. Recognizing this universal boundary helps scientists comprehend phenomena such as black holes, cosmic expansion, and even the very structure of the universe, setting the stage for revolutionary insights into the cosmos.

When Jim overhears that he is about to be sold to a man in New Orleans, separated from his wife and daughter forever, he runs away until he can formulate a plan. Meanwhile, Huck has faked his own death to escape his violent father. As all readers of American literature know, thus begins the dangerous and transcendent journey by raft down the Mississippi River toward the elusive and unreliable promise of the Free States and beyond.
Ground beef has reached an all-time high of $5.98 nationally. What are poor people eating? I’ve seen chicken feet recently at Winn Dixie.
Astrology largely exploits people’s tendencies to buy into generic descriptions of themselves. Modern astrophysicists have pointed out that, in fact, the signs that people go by are based on the night sky from 2,000 years ago. Link
[“Fluorouracil cream for skin cancer”] It works great but keep applying it for at least 2-3 weeks even if it seems like nothing is happening. You will get red rashes where it is affecting bad cells. Put Vaseline on them when you stop applying the cream to help them heal. Don’t get it near your eyes (a friend put it on their eyelids).
[Free Game] Dog Walk. Every now and then I see these free games and want to see what all the hype on gaming is about, but I can ever figure out how to play.
[“Efudex — generic flouracil”] In my experience –it’s a topical chemotherapy.  We have used it several times, but I will say it can be brutal especially your first time using it. You must apply it for 10 days on anything that reacts, you continue to apply around 25-28 days total.  Be sure to finish your treatment and apply as many times a day as your provider indicates based on the body part. It will erode actinic keratosis (AKs) and superficial basal cell carcinoma (BCCs).

It will take at least a week to heal, so time your treatment accordingly, especially if treating the face (no weddings or family photos, etc and you will want to avoid the sun especially as you get past day 10. Use the lotion/soap recommended by the dermatologist (definately avoid Vitamin C) as you will be very tender and possibly painful. It really works (look for images on the internet). I think you will be so amazed and understand why this can be superior to cryotherapy when it identifies how many AKs you have and fully erodes them.

There is a compounded version with Vitamin D that can decrease the treatment time that’s worth asking your dermatologist about.

[Too Old to Dive] 81-year-old Indiana man died after snorkeling near Sand Key Lighthouse off Key West.
[Friday Joke] I’ve always been an overachiever. By the age of 35 I had already acquired what takes most people a lifetime: Back pain, Arthritis, Hearing loss, and Bad knees.
