[Tech Support Solution] I laughed at the post and never thought of it that way. Sometimes when you understand tech stuff, you don’t realize that some people don’t know what a browser is or what you use Google for. I’ve found some people can’t even pronounce Google. I’m not sure you would even want to take the time on this forum to help them understand as they probably know minimal on how to navigate on the internet. They just know to click the big E and someone has either added the Coconut to their favorites or if they’re really lucky it’s their home page when they click on the big E. |
[“Duck Dynasty is fake”] Talk about a case of potty mouth! i can’t believe someone who claims not to be ignorant can’t complete a sentence without cussing. Son of a bit my finger, got dandruff, dadgum it all! But he does have a point although I’ve never watched the show, but on my grocery trips to Walmart I see all their crap for sale. I thought Billy Bass was bad. No wonder our country is a mess when people are easily amused. |
[Citizen Of The Day Says] Key West is great for many reasons, but my favorite is that we move at two speeds around here, slow and stop. |
While most conspiracy theories are pretty entertaining at face value, the idea that the post office is failing because so many members of Congress own UPS stores ranks way up there in terms of amusement. |

[Christmas] Where western Christians celebrate a Jewish dude’s birthday under a Pagan tree by receiving gifts from a fat German trespasser. |
My family, between 8 and 85 years old and two dogs, had a great time at the lighted buggy and golf cart parade Saturday night. Thank you to the organizers and participants for a fun evening! |

Santa and his Rainbeer! |
[Link] I tried again to send a post thru your link last night, it obviously didn’t work. Now I have to try to remember what I wrote and its a day late. That sucks so as a Festivus grievance fix your s@#$%y link and bring back the political section. If the section persuades even one person to seek out the truth then it will stand as a grand gift to the human species. First grievance aired. (Ed: I checked all Contact Us links and they all work. Most all comments arrive by those links. If they didn’t work you wouldn’t see any posts. Look within, Luke!) Happy belated Festivus the most worthwhile holiday ever conceived by man. A time to air your grievances with friends and family, nurture that most deeply seated instinct to compete be challenging each other to “feats of strength”. K.I.S.S. . No commercialism. No running up the credit cards with frivolous spending on unneeded gifts. No boxes of decorations and lights you use only once a year. Greatest of all, none of that nonsensical dogma associated with the santachrist jesusclause or skull capers with theie candle holders and the like. Until the world can celebrate our collective freedom from the shackles of dogma (not just the religious type but all dogma) Festivus will remain the most worthy of human celebrations. So Happy Festivus and all hail The Flying Spaghetti Monster, the universes grand designer. |

I really liked it when the Red Elvis’s played at the Big Tiki. I think it is time for another international group to grace their stage. Let’s get “Pussy Riot” down to the Keys. And please don’t mistake this band name for your favorite snowbird Jersey girl. |
[Obamacare] After finally, 3 tries, getting an insurance company, when I tried to pay them they informed me that I and many others had been canceled. “Wait 10 days and try again.” What figure is the govt. using for people who have signed up, has anybody actually gotten a new policy? |
Remember Wilma anyone? No power for three weeks, now imagine life with a Grinder Pump. Gravity is the only sewer for the Keys. No grinder pumps! Any questions? |

The lighted golf cart parade was a lot of fun. Ho ho ho! |
[Mystery Candidate] Please let me make it perfectly clear that I am not for short term rentals, I am for a noise ordinance that protects the working class homeowners. Please reread my post from Friday and my post from Monday. |
[Volunteers clean Harry Harris Park shoreline] Volunteers with Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary’s Team O.C.E.A.N. program collected 26 bags of garbage and other larger debris during a shoreline cleanup at Harry Harris Park. The items collected consisted mostly of plastics, foam and derelict fishing gear. Keys Sanitary has been supporting the monthly efforts with free waste disposal services. For more information or to join Team O.C.E.A.N. visit Link |
[Gravity Sewers] Why don’t all you whiners say what you’re really thinking: That all sewer users should share the cost of your (proposed) gravity sewer in the low density neighborhood where you’ve chosen to live? Gravity sewers, as someone forgot to suggest, in a flat environment like the Florida Keys, need lift stations at numerous points, thus gravity is not free and someone or a group of someomes has to pay to pump it at some point. I understand that you would prefer that everyone share in your cost, but please be honest about it – it is not free. |
[“Keep your nose out of it”] My nose never felt better than it did after the County eliminated unrestricted short term vacation rentals. |

[Scareware] Scareware refers to software that is used to take advantage of unsuspecting or naive computer users for profit or malicious purposes. The authors of scareware seek to create a sense of panic, shock, or anxiety about a supposed problem or threat to the user’s computer system, when in fact, there is no problem at all. One of the most popular tactics is to convince a computer user that their computer has become infected by viruses, followed by an offer to purchase software that will remove the infections from their computer. These rogue, or fake, anti-virus programs are of course worthless, and may at times come with malicious malware that will actually cause harm to the user’s system or seek to steal personal information from them. Other examples of scareware include so-called registry cleaners and programs that are supposed to enhance a system’s performance or repair ‘other problems’, none of which actually deliver what they promise, leaving buyers of said software with a worthless purchase, and quite possibly real problems afterwards. |

[Captain Doom and Gloom] I guess the holiday season is for doctors and lawyers so they can take the whole freaking week off and say suffer severely to their patients and clients, but when it is time to bill you they want their money. |
There have been thousands of miles of text criticizing Mr. Obama for the Affordable Care Act. Honestly, that is unfair. The act was drafted hand in glove with the Democrat controlled Congress. And every single Democrat legislator voted for it. It can be strongly argued that the Democrat Congress deserved 2/3’rds of the blame. Now that we know quite a bit of what actually is in the bill, the majority of Americans don’t like it, only 41% approve. The Right and the Left are angry at Obama for his purposeful lies “if you like your doctor/insurance, you can keep them.” But that too is unfair, the Democrat legislators, all of who voted for the act, knew Obama’s words were lies, or should have known. Certainly our Democrat legislators had to be aware of the massive shortcomings of the legislation. I trust you will recall that the Republicans were screaming bloody murder that the legislation was terribly flawed. Most ACA supporters thought that they would be paying a lot less money for their health insurance. They were wrong. If you live in 33043, were born in 1970, are single, earn more than 46K per year, are in good health, not overweight, and you were to check out the United Health One web site to get an insurance quote, you would find that the most expensive plan will cost you $625 a month, you will have a fairly low annual deductible of $2500. The company will pay only $35 for a Docs office visit. But, let’s say you can’t afford $625 a month, the cheapest plan will cost you $181 per month…..BUT, you will have to pay $10,000 out of your pocket in medical bills per year to satisfy your deductible before you are eligible to collect a penny of insurance money. And no, under this plan Docs visits are not paid for. Did I mention that you probably are not eligible for a penny in government subsidy? The coverage stinks, it sucks. Our Democrat legislators either knew or should have known. Now let’s say that you are the same dude as above, but you’ve got a family of 4. Let’s say you make $86K per year. Now, the cheapest plan will cost you $566 a month, and you’ll still have to pay $10K out of pocket before you can collect a penny of insurance. It’s possible that you may be eligible for a tax subsidy of $47.00 per month. You won’t get a check for that amount from Uncle Obama, it will only be an income tax deduction. Don’t forget, you must buy insurance, if you don’t you will be fined. The middle class is getting hammered by Democare, and it will only get worse. For the middle class the law should have been called the Un Affordable Care Act. Deer Friends, if you are of a different view, don’t hesitate to voice your views to1776ftr@gmail.com. If your views are interesting, cogent, and not profane, I probably will publish them. Respectfuly submitted 1776ftr@gmail.com |
