Looking for a supportive club where you can improve yourself through regular speaking opportunities? Or a means to bolster your confidence? Or just interested in meeting new people: neighbors, associates or just for expanding business network connections?  Toastmasters International (non-profit) has a club nearby waiting for you to drop in.  These hour length meetings are beneficial to employers, employees, job applicants or just anyone looking for a new direction to dramatically improve speaking, presentation and leadership skills.  By building self-confidence through speech deliveries, you can become a competent communicator within each of your business and personal relationships.

Guests are always welcome!

Toastmasters of the Middle Keys

toastmaster13The second and fourth Tuesday of the month
7:45 – 9 .m
Open to new members who want to improve their leadership, listening, speaking, or sales skills. “As a member-led, self-improvement group with dues of less than $80 a year, this is a local opportunity to regularly improve professional skills,” said Nancy Lucas, club president.

Toastmasters meetings have 10-15 people who meet twice a month for an hour. Participants learn skills by filling a meeting role, ranging from giving a prepared speech or an impromptu one to serving as timer, evaluator or grammarian.  There is no instructor; instead, each speech and meeting is critiqued by a member in a positive manner, focusing on what was done right and what could be improved.

The first meeting of the month is held in Marathon at the Coldwell Banker Schmitt facilities. Please call to confirm if it is the conference room or the training center. The meeting on the fourth Tuesday is held in Islamorada at the Centennial Bank conference center.

Toastmasters International is a world leader in helping people become more competent and comfortable in front of an audience. The nonprofit organization has nearly 235,000 members in 11,700 clubs in 92 countries, offering a proven and enjoyable way to hone communication and leadership skills.

For questions, please contact 2008-2009 President Nancy Lucas at or call (305) 393-6413.
