I am having trouble with the rationality of the fisheries biologists setting rules for fishing seasons.  If the fishery is really in trouble, by all means limit and regulate it.  The practice of allocating the fish between recreational and commercial segments is completely illogical.  If a season needs to close for one group, it should close for all groups.  I find no logic that ‘the fish are in danger’ so I must stop fishing, but they are not so endangered that there are enough for me to buy the same fish from another group.

[Game-changing EV Charging] A new electric SUV from China’s BYD can fully charge its battery in five minutes. The charging system, named Super e-Platform, delivers 1 megawatt of power, and BYD’s new lineup has an “automotive- grade silicon carbide power chip” inside designed to handle that, supplying 250 miles of range in roughly the time it takes to fill up a car with gasoline. For comparison, Tesla promises its superchargers will provide 200 miles of range after a 15-minute charge. “BYD says it’s made such leaps” that its EVs are more “comparable to a Formula E racing car.” BYD has started taking orders for two new models with the fast- charging batteries; they will launch in April, but for now will be available only in China. [April 1st] The City of Greenville, South Carolina, Public Works Department will begin pollen removal from municipal buildings. Tuesday. April 1st. Signage for alternate building entrances will be posted but if you will be visiting a town building this week, please bring a mask.
