I’m Ron Saunders and I’m running for Monroe County Supervisor of Elections. I was born and raised in the Keys and my family has lived here for 5 generations!
After serving as Deputy Monroe County Attorney and chairing our college’s Board of Trustees, I was elected to represent Monroe County in the State Legislature, where I was twice selected as the most effective member of the 120 members of the FL House of Representatives.
I was a fiscal conservative who sponsored and passed the Save Our Homes bill that caps increases in the value of your home.
I passed the first Everglades Protection Act to help keep Florida Bay clean.
I worked with Jimmy Buffett to pass the Save the Manatees license plate bill and I honored our military veterans by passing the Purple Heart license plate bill.
After leaving the Legislature, I was a news anchor on 104.1 US1 radio for 6 years, and was a part of the news team that won a national award for our work during and after Hurricane Irma.
I am running for Supervisor of Elections because I am the only candidate who has worked for that office, assisting with early voting and vote by mail, and working at the polls on election day.
I am an attorney, who as our State Legislator, helped write our election laws.
I ask for your vote for me, Ron Saunders, to be your next Supervisor of Elections! Thank you —  Ron Saunders
I saw this 5 foot gater at the end of Kohen St. Friday around 6pm. I think people feed him because as I stayed in one place, the closer he creeped until it made me uncomfortable and I left.
It sure does not feel like Fall on Big Pine!  Hopefully it will cool off by the end of the month when we start welcoming our winter friends back.
[Hurricane Aid Blocked] Here on site in Asheville, NC. we have powered up two large operating bases for choppers to deliver goods into hands. We’ve deployed 300+ starlinks and outpour is it has saved many lives. The big issue is FEMA is actively blocking shipments and seizing goods and services locally and locking them away and saying they are their own. lt’s very real and scary how much they have taken control to stop people helping. We are blocked now on the shipments of new starlinks coming in until we get an escort from the fire dept. but that may not be enough.

[Hurricanes] America sure is having some bad luck with hurricane Helene and now hurricane Milton. Plus, all the wildfires out west and the relentless heat waves in the south west. It’s almost like it was built on an ancient Indian burial ground and the ghosts are rising.
Vote yes on Proposition 3 to legalize fun marijuana. Don’t believe the anti prop 3 people. They say only a couple of corporations will be able to sell it in Florida. That’s BS. There are over 20 (that I’ve been able to find) probably more.
[TEOTWAWKI] At its most basic level, it’s defined as a complete and utter breakdown of all existing institutions. The governmental, societal, and political institutions we rely on to hold our civilization together in a (mostly) civilized fashion fail spectacularly, and life becomes a Mad Max world. TEOTWAWKI is a catastrophic. Link
[Burning Bush] Around 5:30 am certain bushes seem to glow. I think it is the fine dew on the leaves. When a light shines in the area only certain trees and bushes “glow”.

[FEMA] Yesterday while watching the news this person, who was listed as the head of FEMA was first claiming that the complaints of FEMA’s lack of oversight, response, and funding was all false. Well, she went on to say that we shouldn’t be complaining because it “Hurt the employees’ feelings.” Well, we the people, aren’t complaining about the people on the ground, we the people are complaining about you and the management that are failing the people impacted by Hurricane Helene. Your people on the ground are doing the best in spite of your screw ups. It should be apparent to everyone that you couldn’t organize a one car funeral. Your fired!
