[Christmas Tree Island] After spending years in court, asserting its ownership of Wisteria Island, the federal government now wants to give the island to Monroe County and help the county create a park there — eventually. The process will take years of planning, permitting, zoning changes and, yes, continued litigation. But officials from the federal Bureau of Land Management, which manages the federally owned island, met recently with County Commissioner and County Attorney, to start discussions.
[Kharma] Key West doctor Dr. Bruce Boros who participated in a Florida anti-vaccination summit now has COVID. Jerk. Link

If a body dies in space, will it decompose? If they dump it in space will it just freeze and not decay? Are their maggots in space? Are they brought from Earth?

Two large cruise ships, Oceania Marina and Norwegian Dawn are selling tickets for visits to Key West as early as this Thursday. Oceania Marina is telling their guests they will be here on Thursday December 2 and Norwegian Dawn says they’ll be here on December 9th.

Both vessels exceed the capacity limits established by voters in the 2020 election, since overturned by the Florida Governor. We need your help alerting cruise lines to their ethical and environmental violations in Key West.  Link

[Wedding Destinations] Blacks getting married at a beautiful southern plantation is like Jews getting married at Auschwitz.

[“’Killer Kyle’ comment”] The Telegraph has now officially turned into a “right wing” rag, linking and posting another article that promotes the white supremist, insurgent party. Does the OAN network secretly own this publication?

Waiting for your Christmas present?
Nobody’s getting anything this year!
[Junk Food May Be Bad for Your Eyesight] A study published in the August 2001 issue of the Archives of Ophthalmology suggests that junk food may be bad for your eyesight. Fat-filled snack foods may heighten the risk of developing advanced age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Vegetable, monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, along with linoleic acid, are the types of fat that put junk food enthusiasts at higher risk for the eye disease. The foods that contain these fats are highly-processed, store-bought junk foods. Included in the study were: margarine; chocolate; commercially-prepared pie; cake and cookies; peanut butter; potato chips; French fries; and nuts. Link
[Gun Control] If every weapon, from a bullet to the H-bomb were to disappear instantly, people would beat each other with fists and clubs.  We are natural killers. Humanity is not going to make it. People are begging for gun control, unfortunately we will never get them out of the hands of the criminals.

Philadelphia homicides pass 500, making 2021 city’s deadliest year. Link

[Your Vote Counts] What’s the purpose of citizens voting “NO CRUISESHIPS”, and they still show up?

The latest Covid variant arrives in Key West.

Instead of dropping prices so people can buy stuff online and have it shipped rather than exposing themselves to this plague, the retailers raise prices to keep their profit margins high. Goes to show who cares about the people on this rock! Same goes for the travel and entertainment industry.

[Christmas Tree Shortage] New arrival of a Christmas tree. Certified Colombian origin. Once lit up, you’ll see Santa Claus, The 3 magi kings and even the fairy bell.

[Runes
] The sigel rune is the sixteenth letter in some versions of the runic alphabet. It’s used to represent the s sound. The sigels are sometimes called bolt runes. because of their resemblance to bolts of lightning. The Nazis used two sigel runes to represent the Nazi SS, the Schutzstaffe.
[Good Health Clinic] In the Keys, we rely on our locals to keep our community thriving. With 1/3 of your neighbors —local servers, fishermen, hospitality staff, and more— uninsured, Good Health Clinic plays a critical role in maintaining our community’s success. Our clients rely on us, and we rely on you, our generous donors, to keep our doors open. $1 Donation = $10 in Patient Care. Link
[New Head Book Worm] Kim Rinaldi, who has been manager of our Big Pine Key library for two years, has left us to be the new Senior Branch Manager of the Key West Library.  Kim has made many positive changes in the BPK library and she will be missed.  However, we do congratulate her on her new opportunity and challenges.
We welcome Rob Rinaldi, as the Acting Branch Manager for the Big Pine Key library. Rob has extensive library experience and for the last two and a half years he has led a dynamic Circulation Department of the Key West Library. The next time you visit the library, welcome Rob and introduce yourself.
[Big Monitor] A popular feature on several Android phones is the capability to connect the phone to an HDMI TV set or monitor. To make that connection, the phone must have an HDMI connector, and you need to buy an HDMI cable. After doing so, you can enjoy viewing your phone’s media on a larger-size screen. Link

[Nutritional Information] If you’re ever feeling useless, remember that bags of ice have important nutritional information.
[When Is A Bargain Not] Drove up to Walmart in Florida City on Black Friday for a deal on an iPhone. Well, what a darn mistake. I was there for over 3 hours, then they said we could come back another day to pick up the phone.
We saved $80, drove up twice. I could have gone to a Verizon dealer here in the Keys, saved more, got it the same day, and would have dealt with providers that know their product. I could write a letter to Wally, but that’s about as useful as t*ts on a door.

[Visionary] The longer grandma waited to update her eyeglass prescription, the more entertaining the annual Christmas story became.

If Kyle “the Killer” Rittenhouse walks away with not so much as a slap on the wrist, do you think it’s a stretch that Maxwell, the groomer and pimp of underage women walks free?

[Who Done It] Notice the computations, theoretical scribblings, and lab equipment. Yes, curiosity killed the cat.
