 Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls, children of all ages, Wetstock 20 will now be two days of Peace & Music. The first day Saturday May 24th the music will start 12:30 (Keys time of course).
Day 1. The Bo Fodor Band will open the show with great rock & roll. Bo used to let me sit in back when Boondocks was still one small tiki hut, I’m guessing around 2005ish. Bo and The Hitchhikers rocked that place like no other! Next will be The Gypsea Cowboys. If you haven’t seen these guys you’re in for a treat. Randy with his bag of tricks will put a smile on your face and in your heart with tunes like you’ve never heard them. Day 2. Sunday May 25th the show starts around the same time. Bobby Howard & The Ukeholics with yours truly on drums will start the show. We have some new stuff for you as well as old favorites. When is the last time you heard Pyscho Killer played with ukulele’s? Stormfront, our local favorite, will be on next for a fine set of great music. They have blown us away the past couple at Wetstock’s and will again this year. The Ray West Band will end the day with some high energy rock & roll with super guitar work Ray is known for. Mine took 4 days to get mailed and my husband’s two weeks because they came from two different locations despite being submitted back-to-back. Walgreen’s offers digital/print photos (you get both) for $16.99. We had no problems uploading the correct size and they automatically cropped the original photo so Walgreen’s worked out great. |
 [Bookmobile] Here’s a picture of the Staten Island bookmobile from long ago. I remember Carol Munder from years ago who drove the Monroe County bookmobile. It was our only lifeline to civilization on Big Pine Key because there was no cable, satellite or TV on the island in those days and the radio only had one station WKWF-AM that played old people music. I think the Monroe bookmobile may have been a converted bread truck. |

| The useless eaters at the Deer Refuge headquarters somewhere up there in America, spent millions of dollars messing with the Alligator Slough on Big Pine Key. They built two culverts on Key Deer Blvd and two more on Watson Blvd to drain non-excitant flood waters. When told that they weren’t necessary because the slough doesn’t flood any more than the surrounding area (in hurricanes or heavy deluges). They cited fake salt on the vegetation there. I live next to that area and told them there was no salt on the vegetation and the money spent was wasted. They had to rebuild the culverts when they found their original million-dollar design wouldn’t work, and they still won’t work, even after the repairs.) |
