[Screw-ups] There is a fine line at stake here which can not be crossed because those crossing it will suffer terrible retaliation. People screw up at work, but their co-workers are not allowed to point out the screw ups, in case the employer might get sued. So, the screw-up employees continue to be allowed to screw up, and continue risking dragging the company into lawsuits. The travesty is that the company’s senior management is aware that the screw-up employees are screwing up, but provide those employees with cover and promotion, instead of remediation. Worse, outsiders who see the screw-ups and identify those screw-ups to the company’s Board of Directors are attacked by the senior management. One senior manager said, “If you don’t tell me who told you that, it never happened.” In that manager’s mind, absent the name of who talked about the offense, the offense never happened. Obviously that manager does not comprehend that the offense and the name of the person who spoke of the offense are not related. In the end, the screw-up employees continue to screw up, while senior management continues to bluster and divert. That fine line that can not be crossed continues to protect at the expense of the employees who are not screwing up. |

[Marathon Journal] The Journal had the pleasure of interviewing Marathon Cash Flow’s Mark Senmartin. How’s business? Gun side is quite good. Other side of business is jewelry and pawn shop also doing well. What is the history of Cash Flow? He has been selling guns four years. Jewelry and pawn shop longer. He bought the store in 2004. What other items besides guns offered? He has 20 years of affordable jewelry to high-end items. He sells customized pieces too. He is/has been a pilot, Class A CDL read truck driver, NRA certified instructor, notary public, and a former lawyer. We will forgive him for being a lawyer. He also repairs guns. How is that managed? There are background checks, training, and fingerprints for the first time-concealed weapons permit. Existing persons with a concealed weapons permit only need a cursory background check. There is a need for guns for those qualified for different reasons permit or not. Where is a firing range? Big Coppitt Gun Club is open to anyone but membership is best way to go. How has Obama affected sales? Business has been good. Barack Obama’s inability to bring both sides together has spooked a number of groups. concealed weapons class has been heavily attended. Are there any last thoughts? Store has guns, jewelry, pawnshop, and accessories. Store is a good edition in town. You would be amazed how many shooters are in the Middle Keys. His business card caught my attention: Buy Sell and Trade, Mid-Keys only FFL Dealer 1-59-12028, free background checks with gun purchase, ammo and accessories, concealed carry permit class by NRA Certified Instructor. The above interview is a topic still in the national news. The story about a local gun dealer helps define the discussion. Florida’s Rules of Engagement can lead to unnecessary shootings. The Rules allow for ambiguity, which is something to ensure that dead bodies pile up. A simple change is needed to make the Rules clear-cut and simple. If you are in fear of your life or another person in danger, then deadly force is allowed. That rule takes the ambiguity out of the Rule. The big uproar over gun registration and such is just not warranted. Again, a simple solution would be to treat weapons like cars with a title and license from manufacture to the bone yard. This journal and the Keynoter both have written editorials supporting this simple solution. ~Publisher@MarathonJournal.US |
[“We need to toss stand your ground. If someone uses deadly force to defend themselves and its justifiable, who needs a law to protect them”] Are you frigging serious? The U.S.A is a nation of laws, starting with our Constitution. Were you in Florida back in the days when robbers were following tourists out of the airports and robbing them? Were you here when the German tourists were brutally killed by, uh, criminals who wore hoodies? The law known as S-Y-G is an acronym for the Castle Doctrine which was extended by a law signed by Jeb Bush, which gives any person the right to defend themselves anywhere they have a lawful right to be as long as they are doing nothing illegal. That’s a simplified version. S-Y-G is important because bad people need to know that legally, if they wish to perpetuate a life threatening crime or felony crime, they risk being killed. It is the definition of justifiable provided within the S-Y-G law that gives you the right to protect yourself. Otherwise, everyone would have a different definition of justifiable. That’s why we need the law. Think of S-Y-G as the rules to the game and if you cheat, you lose. |

[Yankee Go Home] I believe that many, if not, most of the Keys residents will agree with me when I say to all you ignorant, hateful racists trash that post pure garbage on this blog that we don’t like your kind down here. The reason why we decided to move down here was to escape all the garbage, filth and hatred you people spew on the mainland towards each other. Our motto here is One Human Family. We don’t care if you’re White, Black, Brown, Asian, Gay, poor or rich. I hate to really tell you this, but do you know who the real “N” word is? You are. If you’re too stupid to realize this, then let’s help you see the light. Anything that the corporate controlled media transmits thru their airwaves, doesn’t have any effect on us down here except for politics & the weather because that affects us all. But besides that, all the worthless racism, crime, murders, celebrity hoopla, etc is purely intended for the rats that enjoy to hate the rat race they choose to live in at the mainland and not us. Don’t come into our islands with your contaminating vile thoughts and worthless opinions. Let me put the shoe on the other foot. We don’t like your kind down here. All you people do is spread poisonous hate like a vile cancerous virus everywhere you go. If you want to continue with your vile disgusting racist attitude and low life opinion, then go back to the mainland where you belong, and leave us all alone. |

[“Solar Power Not So Good”] Typical greenie response–attack the guy who wrote the article about solar being one of the most expensive energy alternatives. The numbers came from an agency of the US government, the EIA- look it up. I have no problem with people experimenting with new technologies, just don’t force them on the rest of us if it is not economically viable. Even Obama’s previous energy adviser, Nobel prize winner Dr. Steven Chu has stated that for PV solar to become viable, a technological breakthrough is necessary. He also is a big advocate of nuclear energy, and I will bet that rankles the greenies backsides. Your comment is another perfect example of the mantra of greenies- it is better to feel good than to really do good. Now go ahead and discredit Dr. Chu. |
[Cracker] The term ‘Cracker’ has become a derogatory moniker for Florida white folks or perhaps any white face. The historical meaning is not a demeaning slur. Back in the day, ‘cracker’ was a term for the Florida cowboys. Rather than lassos as in Texas, the Florida cow punchers used bull whips to keep the wild range cattle on the Florida scrubland in line. Thus the moniker ‘cracker’ as in the whip’s noise. In Texas there is little or no underbrush. In FL there is nothing but vegetation so a lasso would be useless thus the bull whip of the true cracker. Use the slur if you choose, but I was born and raised in this beautiful and special Florida and cracker is a compliment to me being a FL native of almost 70 years. I am a true minority and damn proud of it. |

I was looking at the mugshots today and realized why it’s so hard to find a decent employer that pays a livable wage. I represent the company well with my appearance, mad[?] skills, and dedication. But these myopic shithead employers would rather have a meth-head that works for $9.50 an hour than pay a decent worker a decent wage. Been here since the 70’s, but I could be poor anywhere. |

[“‘Cracker’ from cracker meal”] “Cracker” was originally termed because of the cattle ranchers’ whips cracking through the air. I’ve been told we are called Crackers or Crazy-assed crackas because we resemble the color of a Saltine. Nothing racist about it, and should not be construed as such. |

Love at first sight occurs with the perennial peanut groundcover. That is what you get when you plant perennial peanut (Arachis glabrata), a nitrogen-fixing groundcover first introduced to South Florida from Brazil in the 30s. What a gift it was! The legume has no insect pests, diseases or nematodes. Once established, it is drought tolerant, loves full hot sun and high humidity. It is fond of well-drained soil that is full of phosphorous. It can be mowed or not. It pops back up after being walked upon. It is not invasive as it grows from rhizomes and produces few seeds so birds do not transport it. Link |

[Captain Doom and Gloom] I finally figured out why the rich live on the top of the hill while we peasants on the bottom. They own the grinder pump factories. “Grinder Pumps” How can a mechanism with all those parts be cheaper than a simple length of PVC Pipe with no mechanical or electrical parts? The ruse of the Grinder Pumps being cheaper is because the County/FKAA says it is supplying the parts and the home owner supplies the electrical hook up. This is spin to the hilt because the FKAA and Country get the money for this from your tax money, or other peoples tax money. They have no money themselves. Hence the gravity system must be many times cheaper than the grinder pump system. Where do we see the actual costs of this con game? |
Obama’s speech on race was touching. You never hear a politician speak so from-the-heart as he did on a subject he knows so much about. |
[Homeland Security] So much for enjoying “The most ethical and transparent administration in history.” Eleven years ago, when the Department of Homeland Security was formed, were were promised that it would merely be an umbrella organization that would just coordinate the activities of existing agencies, and have no policing powers of of it own. Well, look at what it has become. With more than 230,000 employees, DHS is now the third largest Cabinet-level Federal department. DHS now has legions of cyber sniffers, blue-gloved crotch gropers, and asset seizers. I suspect that internal DHS checkpoints will be coming soon. The worst sort of tyranny is the sort that isn’t even recognized by those who suffer beneath it’s yoke. Can’t folks see how the nooses are being tightened around our necks? Don’t they recognize the collusion of the mass media? Where is the outrage? Where are the protests? I’ve concluded that the America’s rams got elastratred by the Public School system years ago, and now there are just a bunch of useless wethers. This is pathetic. If this continues, American liberty and free enterprise will end with just a few plaintive cries of “baa.” The sheep have eagerly followed a bucket of grain. Welcome to the slaughterhouse–or at least to the anteroom |
Obamacare is the savior for Americans who get sick. The Republicans tirelessly try to dismantle this great idea because they are satisfied with the way the American medical industry works and are content to let insurance companies deny their claims and have illegal immigrants sap our emergency’ room’s precious resources without paying a dime. Oh, you say they don’t approve? Then why are they trying to destroy a system that will benefit us all and not offer any other solution except to let the health industry regulate itself and continually screw us? |
[Detroit] If you want to see where this country is headed, take a look at Detroit. It’s the logical endpoint of liberal economic policies. In 1960, Detroit had the highest per capita income of any city in the U.S. The last year Detroit had a Republican mayor? 1960. |
[Quarter Truth] Heres a perfect example of FTR trickery. Ive pointed this out many times before but this one is a classic. FTR said Obama “suggested that Zimmerman would have been convicted if Martin was white”. O.K. got that part. Obama did not say that. FTR said it was “suggested”. The suggestion came from FTRs mind and he is the one that made the comment. Then the following comment was “That’s absolute nonsense”. Hes calling nonsense, something he said not Obama. Its as if FTR thinks things are said that are not said then comments on what he just made up. At times even 1/4 truth seems like a mountain too high to climb. Keep swinging for the fences slugger. |
“We took the liberty to make some inquiries concerning the Grounds of their pretensions to make war upon a Nation who had done them no Injury, and observed that we considered all mankind as our Friends who had done us no wrong, nor had given us any provocation. The Ambassador (Abd Al-Rahman) answered us that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet, that it was written in their Koran, that all …nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman who should be slain in Battle was sure to go to Paradise.” ~Thomas Jefferson |

The continued debate over the Zimmerman case and race is appalling since it is only the President, Eric Holder and the race-baiters like Al and Jesse who perpetuate it. The race debate falls into Obama’s divide and conquer theory of ruining this country, and for that I am saddened the majority was fooled into electing him. |
I’ll bet that you remember when way back in 2010 while Obama was pushing so very hard to pass Obamacare he made us a guarantee. HHS Secretary Kathleen Sibelius and then-House speaker Nancy Pelosi backed the president fully in this regard. The White House even went so far as to post a “Health Insurance Reform Reality Check” on its website where he promised that with Obamacare we would be able to keep our own Doctors. That promise high lighted by a big graphic that read “Health Insurance Reform Reality Check. The posting contained the following words: “THE PRESIDENT: Here is a guarantee that I’ve made. If you have insurance that you like, then you will be able to keep that insurance. If you’ve got a doctor that you like, you will be able to keep your doctor. Nobody is trying to change what works in the system. We are trying to change what doesn’t work in the system. Hey don’t believe me, read it for yourself at: Link Well Deer Friends, that promise has now proved to be as empty as the hundreds of Budweiser cans and/or bottles in the trash at Coconuts Sunday morning. Now Team Obama’s website, Healthcare.gov website has revealed how empty that promise was.. Among the questions that HHS recently added to the website: “Can I keep my own doctor?” Their answer is a really eye popping “reality check”. They wrote: “When comparing plans in the market place, you will see a link to a list of providers in each plans network. If staying with current Doctors is important to you, check to see if they are included before choosing a plan.” The reality is that depending on the plan you choose in the Marketplace, you “may be able to keep your current Doctor.” The bottom line is that Obamacare guarantees neither. Doctors may be only available through certain networks, just as in the current system. And only plans that existed in their current form on March 23, 2010, are even eligible to be “kept.” The vast majority of plans will be new, subject to a raft of new regulations, requirements, and restrictions. You can read more at: Link All of the foregoing may well be moot, because you may not even be able to find a Doctor. In a survey by a top research firm, six in 10 physicians said it is likely many doctors will retire earlier than planned in the next one to three years. The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, reported that doctors already have started leaving the profession through early retirement. Among those who remain, some will seek alternatives to what they see coming in the federal government’s takeover of health care. A spokesperson said: “I think it’s a disaster for patients,” she said. “They may lose the doctor they relied on all their lives.” Many doctors are starting to limit their participation in Medicaid and Medicare because of low reimbursement rates. Some doctors even close off their practices to such patients. Read more at: Link Forbes magazine has a fascinating article entitled: “Will Your Doctor Quit? Obamacare Foretells Mass Exodus From Patient Care.” I urge you to read it at: Link |

Solar power is not a “new and emerging “technology. It is an old technology and it’s is a failed technology. If you actually read science you wouldn’t need me to tell you this The left has blocked obstructed and made certain any new technologies never got a foot in the door. This is what happens when an anti science, cult driven political ideology hijacks reason and intellect and substitutes it with a belief system. Now Cult driven politics decides what is and isn’t a new technology instead of the Real engineering and market oversight We are stuck on the fantasies of 1970’s anti oil liberalism with absolutely nothing to show for it. Solar as an alternative power source is a lie. Has always been a lie and will always be a lie. No amount of believing or longing will ever change that. And again I will restate for the illiterate anti science cult left, the fact that fossil fuels is a “limited” energy source does not make solar any less of a lie. Nor wind for that matter. |
