[Flu Shots] According to the CDC the flu virus has mutated rendering the popular flu shots ineffective. You’re putting a live virus into your body for no reason. Link |
[“Holocene Man”] It was fascinating to read your evisceration of those cult lefties and their constant yammering about all that climate change garbage. I was spellbound with your use of sarcasm as well as pseudo science to completely throw them off guard. A tidbit here and a tidbit there, all put together to prove your point. Wow!Unfortunately you are about as far from being correct in the totality of your argument as is humanly possible. Leave the scientific explanations of things you don’t understand to the scientists, and remember, if you ever look at a weather site and see a GFS hurricane track showing a storm heading straight towards BPK, ignore it. It’s just another one of those worthless computer models by those cult lefties at NOAA. |

Did I read it right in today’s Citizen that entrance fee to Bahia Honda is going up to $25 a day along with Fort Jefferson? |
Illegals will be paying taxes, contrary to the contrarians. They all work already and will continue to work, but now they will be paying taxes. Illegals work harder than most Americans. Now they will pay their fair share. This fact seems to upset some in the red states. |
Ode to Bob’s Barricades by Elizabeth Thomas Like unruly soldiers each side of US1 You gather haphazard and march in the sunYou keep us in line without weapons or shouting no flashing of tempers on these roads you’re rerouting Your cones stack like Pringles Key West to Key Largo |
Those roadside sobriety tests are getting ridiculous. Last night they made me fold a fitted sheet. |
[Commission Meeting] The most telling, and the most damning, part of what happened after I made my initial citizen comments the other night, was, and is, Mark Rossi had not watched the 2nd bystander’s video, according to today’s Citizen, in which he is quoted as saying he had not watched and would do so when the time comes. I felt sorry for, Mark. I felt sorry for someone so unable to be a grown up person, a responsible city official, a man, that he had not watched that 2nd video, which, I knew when he exploded, he had not watched, because no sane person, who was not possessed by Lucifer, could watch that video and carry on the way Mark, and later, Tony Yaniz carried on after I had spoken. I felt badly for Mark and Tony, and the karma they are calling down on their heads, and on the head of Key West. And I felt badly for Craig Cates, the way he carried on, for the same reasons. And I feel badly for the other city commissioners, for the same reasons. Whatever reasons they used to convince themselves to side with their police were destroyed by the 2nd bystander’s video. And by the massive cover up and lying and perjury by the cops involved, which the 2nd video exposed. ~keysmyhome@hotmail.com |

Rednecks have the lowest stress rate because they do not understand the seriousness of most medical terminology. |
The city of Key West has settled yet another lawsuit before trial. This one involves a $100K payout to a security guard who exercised her legal right to take time off during pregnancy. Last week it was a case for illegally drug testing job applicants in the public sector. What kind of morons do we have supervising those who are making the decisions that cost the taxpayers so much money? Please tell me it’s not City Commissioners like Mark Rossi who has now endorsed KWPD and Donnie Lee. It’s time to get the broom and sweep out these people that spend our money like drunken sailors. What’s that? Oh yeah, I forgot, some have been in power since this was a Navy town. That too, has been stolen from us. |
[Seaweed Problem] I’ve seen the seaweed so thick at the Old Wooden Bridge fishing marina that my boat wouldn’t go through it. |
[Men] There are three kinds of men: The ones that learn by reading. The few who learn by observation. The rest of them have to pee on the electric fence and find out for themselves. |
Florida trails from sea to sea. The goal is to link most of Florida’s urban areas together by paved trails. The plan is 2,000 miles of Florida’s top 10 regional connector trails. Think C2C, SW Coast Connector and Heart of Florida Loop. Link |

Remember the times when Republicans and Democrats worked together to make this country and its citizens great. Now both parties are only in it for the money and to serve their oligarch overlords. This is what working together looks like. Video |

The east side of the island has no more of a seaweed problem than any other side of any island. Depending on wind direction and intensity, seaweed has even been seen in, dare I say, the interior canal on Summerland Key. Gasp! I know! In the summer, it’s worse on the east/southeast sides of the islands and in the winter the northern and western sides may see more. Sadly, smell is subjective and no one can really define that stankweed that permeates the Keys occasionally. It’s one of those things in life one must experience to appreciate, or not. Of course, there’s always ‘back home’, with the smell of either factories or fertilizer wafting on the freezing winds. |
[9/11] They should be hunting down Larry Silverstein. He helped murder 3,000 people that day. 9/11 was what they call a “false flag”. The real terrorists where born and raised in this country, follow the money. |
[“Eimers Death”] After finally watching the replay of Key West’s city commission meeting I was appalled by the petulant display by Cates, Rossi and Yaniz during citizen comments. How anyone can still defend the actions of Donnie Lee and his police defies any sense of logic or reason. Did you not read the depositions? Did you not read the officers reports? Did you not watch the latest video which proves the officers lied?Maybe you didn’t watch because you want to keep your head in the sand (much like what your PD did to Eimers) and not know the truth. Or you watched the video and don’t want to admit the truth because that would be admitting you’re wrong. As Rossi stated, there are many good officers on the KWPD. I’m sure there are, but you have 12 – 13 officers who should not be wearing a badge. You have a chief who should not be there and you have a commission with no sense of honor or responsibility for allowing this to happen.
At the beginning of the meeting you proclaimed a day for homeless memorial day. The proclamation says they want to end homelessness in Key West. Well we all know how they will accomplish this. Key West will either continually to harass and arrest you, run you out of town, or kill you |
[Aliens] Anyone born in Puerto Rico is born an American citizen! Puerto Ricans are not aliens, they are American. Puerto Ricans were granted American citizenship due to their courage and the blood shed in every war the United States has had since the Civil war. |
We don’t care about the homeless. They are a blight on our community. They only take. All the back and forth on homeless issues and shelters is crap. Sweep them under the rug. The homeless stink. Merry Christmas. |

If you know of a neighbor or anyone who would benefit from one of these, please direct them to the Lower Keys Chamber of Commerce. Members may still provide items to be included in the bags to promote their businesses. |
Gadfly Sloan Bashinsky said at the Commission meeting last night that “the police killed Eimers” because he was homeless. I doubt the police even knew Eimers was homeless. Commissioner Rossi ripped Mr Bashinsky a new one and Yaniz joined him |
[“Global warming“] Suddenly FTR is a Republican scientist (the ultimate oxymoron). He must be the only global warming denier that isn’t on the payroll of some special interest. OR ..is he? Could Jim Inhofe be secretly funding this publication? You don’t need to be a NOAA scientist to know that the greenhouse effect is warming the earth at an ever increasing rate and the greenhouse effect is caused by increases of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. It a blanket. It works similar to cloud cover, which keeps daytime temperatures from escaping at night. CO2 is easily and very accurately measured and it’s increasing accumulation, mostly caused by burning of fossil fuels, and is going to wipe us out. Fortunately it won’t be tomorrow or probably in our lifetime and so unfortunately I won’t be able to say “I told you so.” Forget the politics and just try a little logic. |
[Obamacare] The Congressional Budget Office has released updated estimates on the Affordable Care Act’s impact on both the budget and the health insurance industry. The findings show that the President’s signature health care law is actually growing cheaper to implement as time goes on, costing the government $5 billion less in 2014 than was previously projected. The law also is projected to cover more individuals than previously believed, owing, in part, to some broader workforce trends. |
It’s frightening that Republicans don’t except science which has oodles and oodles of proof and facts to back up its statements, but they all believe in the myth of god which has no facts or eye witnesses. Only a series of book, the first of which was written forty years after Jesus’s death. |
[Right and Wrong] am 62 years old and could never understand, when I was young, how could some people could be so wrong on something and others so right. Since about the age of twelve I’ve realized it is truly a rare event when someone is always wrong about everything. I suppose one should be thankful when seeing or encountering such an atypical phenomenon. That said, I would like FTR. |

[Bilge Pump] Having gone through this exercise, you may be wondering how much your pump will really move in a minute or an bout One easy way to find out is to pour five gallons of water into the bilge and start your stopwatch when the bilge pump kicks in. A 500-gph pump should empty the bilge in 35 seconds if it’s working at its rated capacity. A 1,500-gph pump should be able to do it in 12 seconds. Of course, given all of the above, it’s more likely that 500-gph pump will take longer than a minute to get rid of the water. Eighty to 90 seconds wouldn’t be unheard of, and the 1,500-gph pump will take 25 seconds or more. Do the math to see how your bilge pump stacks up against the writing on its side. Then consider whether or not you have enough pumping capacity. When it comes to pumps, more is (almost) always better, but Table 1 shows West Marine’s recommendations by boat size. How does your boat measure up? Increasing the pumping capacity you have aboard by installing, a larger bilge pump is an easy and inexpensive way to give you – and your boat – time when something starts to go wrong, time that could make the difference between being on the water and in it. |

[“Eimers Death”] John Donnelly submitted this to the blue paper: “I’ve been apprised that the continued festering of this wound has become a source of embarrassment, rendering a ‘black mark’ upon the Justice Department. Although undergoing a change in leadership, they’ve described the ‘criminal negligence’ implicated in this matter, as having reached a ‘tipping point’.”That comment showed John himself was in touch with the US Department of Justice, and there was a problem in DOJ concerning the Eimers case. When I tried to get John to name the DOJ officials, he declined. John has demonstrated he is perfectly capable of collecting and presenting mountains of evidence to state and federal law enforcement and regulatory agencies |

To FTR, the king of insults: I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings by “salting” my post with juvenile insults like “Our resident weather guru” and “expert”. Would the title “All Knowing Grand Poo-bah of all Things Climate Related and Anything Else Worth Knowing” have been a better choice? Lighten up. When I’m feeling a little thin skinned and put upon, I go and fix myself a big glass of Metamucil. I always feel better in a little bit. |
My life has been about journeying through one dark night of the soul after another. What an initiation and learning! So although I believe everyone’s journey into the dark night of the soul is different I believe I can empathize. My two mantras are always: The only way out is through. The strength of my spirit will carry me through |
[FTR: “Our southern border must be sealed first, and only then Congress must pass intelligent and humane laws to regulate immigration”] Our porous borders have nothing to do with the millions of illegals who have been living here for many years and who have children borne here and in school. The GOP will never wake up. |

FTR was blaming Obama for high gas prices now that they are low he again blames Obama, but I can’t figure out what for and neither can FTR. |
Great news from FTR. He gave his blessing to the CBO when he used them as the financial wizards of this country when he used them as the voice of reason and truth when it comes to Americas finances. He even used them as the beacons of truth when they were used by him as the examples of how illegals that will be going thru the system and paying taxes wont be all its cracked up to be.Here’s another report recently released from the very same CBO offices that I’m sure our beacon of fairness can agree with.
The Congressional Budget Office has released updated estimates on the Affordable Care Act’s impact on both the budget and the health insurance industry. The findings they say show that the president’s signature health care law is actually growing cheaper to implement as time goes on, costing the government $5 billion less in 2014 than was previously projected. The law also is projected to cover more individuals than previously believed, owing, in part, to some broader workforce trends. Would the CBO that was so honest concerning FTR’s numbers concerning illegals all of a sudden decide on its own to lie about the healthcare numbers? Hardly. That’s it from Charlie. |
It’s fascinating to read the postings of this ole farts critics. They share a common theme: “shut up…and go away.” And yet they seem to be addicted to reading my humble opinions. How odd!And yet, as a compassionate Conservative, I can understand their angst. After all their beloved President is as popular and respected as much as hemorrhoids. His policies are under assault by leaders in his own party such as Chuck Schumer, and even Harry Reid. His cabinet is fleeing him. His allies are throwing him under the bus. His signature health care initiative now fails to get the approval of the majority of Americans, and there are growing indications that it will be found to be unconstitutional. His daffy foreign policy has resulted in a world in shambles. His foreign policy has resulted Muslim fundamentalism metastasizing and it now threatens the entire mid-east. It is supreme irony that the left demonized GWB for his boots on the ground stance, yet Obama is now in process of ramping up the number of American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan Link
It must be driving the Democrat base insane. And we now know that 74% of our troops killed in Afghanistan were killed on Obama’s watch. Tragic! The left/progressive/Democrats got their collective butts thoroughly kicked in the last election. Their philosophy and policies were roundly rejected by America. The Republicans now have a growing majority in the Senate and the biggest majority since 1928 in the House. There are now a huge majority, 31, of Republican governors. All of this may make it understandable that my critics are shrill, and some feel compelled to insult and belittle or demonize me. The critics suggest that my time would be better spent in pursuits other than the few moments that I spend posting here. And yet the critics spend time composing tortured and angry postings attacking this olde fart. But they only occasionally offer rational opposition to the themes I write about. Why? I think I know why. First, to the left, the truth is an existential threat. And I think that the left is hard wired to attack and demonize any message or messenger that comes from right field. Is it in their DNA, their inculcation, or simply their upbringing? It really is pathetic that their best shot is: “Shut up and go away.” Ah well, life is good, and it is very good being able to express my opinions here on the CT. I must thank my left field critics for their untiring devotion to reading my postings and then for responding to them. It’s validation |
