[“Poor People”] The Catholic Church gives free food I believe on Tuesdays. There are other charities that give free food on Stock Island and Marathon. If you are in that situation there is always food stamps too. Woman with child is a shoo in. The Vineyard church gives free hotdogs and chips on Saturday at 6:30 and may do breakfast on Sunday morning. Please say a prayer for these folks. |

![]() [Cloaking Device] Imagine a warplane shrouded by a “cloak” that can zip through the skies, reliably protected from enemies’ eyes. Earlier this year, scientists at Zhejiang University in China announced that they had created just that: an “aeroamphibious invisibility cloak” for aircraft—similar to what you might see on Star Trek. Now, the Chinese military wants to apply the new stealth technology to its growing drone fleet. Link |

Buying light bulbs today can be confusing. Gone are the days when your only decision was between a 100-watt and a 60-watt incandescent. Instead, there are all kinds of lighting options at the home improvement or hardware store, from vibrant colors and designer shapes to smart bulbs you control from your phone. I get confused! Link |

Verizon’s phone bill is about $60/month. If you want the ‘free’ $1200 phone they offer, there’s a 2-year contract. $60 X 24 months = $1440 for the phone. When the contract is up you still have to pay $60/month because the phone is ‘locked’ and will only work with Verizon. You can get good service from USMobile.com for only $10/month -unlimited. I’ve used them for 2 years without a problem. For a few bucks more you can even use the phone in Europe. |

Black Friday sales extend to everyday if you’ll check prices. Sure, a few items are discounted, but many others cost more on those sales days. I bought a laptop last year on Black Friday and it was $20 more than usual. They said it was “new stock”. They should have kept the same price until Black Friday was over. |
