[President’s Visit] My wife left Big Pine for KW four hours early in order to miss the traffic from the President’s visit. She didn’t make it because she got held up at Rockland Key and inched down to Boca Chica where she got stopped with the other traffic, but he got to see the President’s motorcade. She hates him, but said seeing the motorcade was incredibly impressive and showed the great power of the most powerful person on the planet. |
As our President drove down Duval Street everybody on the Left side threw cancelled welfare checks and had derogatory signage, but on the Right side of the street, people saluted and waved American flags. Tells you something, RIGHT? |
This bible verse always keeps me going. |
I thought the weenie-queenie (hot dog girl) was tending bar inside Coconuts now, albeit an older version. Last time I was in there, there was a lady about 40-something who looked like she was something in her day |
The FTR Guy must be in seventh heaven seeing his President in Key West. |
[Bombing Japan] Facts about the Doolittle Raid, its Crews, Crew Members, and events before and after the Doolitte Raid on Tokyo, Japan, April 18th, 1942. The raid accomplished few military objectives, if any. But the mission signaled to the Allies that Japan, for its isolation and distance from the United States, was not out of reach of military strikes. The raid famously boosted morale back home, which was part of the objective. Link |
[How to Spend Four Days Island-Hopping in The Florida Keys] While the beloved island chain took a direct hit from the Category 4 hurricane and areas, especially in the Lower Keys and Islamorada, are still rebuilding, the Keys have largely rebounded and are as dreamy a destination as ever. (Tip: bring lots of money) Link |
[Ultrasound] I would want to know the sex of my baby as soon as possible so I won’t feel guilty when it’s a girl and I wanted a boy (or vice versa) and always know I really didn’t want it. |
Do you think Spain knew what they were doing when they let us have Florida? |
[President’s Visit] With all the protesters making Key West look like a war zone, do you think the President will cut us off for welfare? |
No stems, no seeds, Acapulco Gold’s some bad ass weed. It’s time to make it legal. |
[Chocolate Covered Bacon] This has gone too far! Link |
[Fight or Die] As an old soldier I admit the cowardice: it’s as universal as sea sickness and matters just as little. In a battle all you need to make you fight is a little hot blood and the knowledge that it’s more dangerous to lose than to win. ~a Napoleon soldier |
Today we talk about Luther. He wasn’t here long enough, but left the Keys a more beautiful place. The first I saw of Luther was when he was in black-face playing guitar at Boondocks when that place was still a happening. Only Luther could get away with painting his face black and nobody said a word. You couldn’t go to any fundraiser that he wouldn’t be there. I got to spend a great day with him at Geiger Key when that place was still a happening. He had cancer. He lived on a sailboat. He was worried that he wouldn’t be able to do it much longer. It was his life. We talked about all the characters he played on Biz Baz. He was so full of life even though he knew he was dying. I was so blessed to spend 4 hours hanging with him. I had tears in my eyes the whole time from laughing so much. If you get to heaven by doing good in the world Luther will meet us at the gate. To those who had the opportunity to meet Luther we were truly blessed. Another Keys character resting in peace. Fair winds and smooth sailing to you, Sailor. [J&J Lawn Service] That’s a real nice ad, Ed. I’m getting calls almost everyday. I just wanted to say thanks. |
I took some lubbers to the reef yesterday and when the father pointed out that there was a shark swimming with them, the teen swam so fast towards the boat that he made a wake. I’ve never seen anyone move so fast in the water. |
[Fake Fish Keys Restaurants] There’s plenty of Gulf-caught seafood available on Florida’s Gulf coast. Come on up and see what fresh caught tastes like. |
[American Exceptionalism] The best example of American exceptionalism I can come up with is the fact that at the end of World War II, the USA was the only country in the world that had the atomic bomb. We could have ruled the world if we wanted to and no one could have stopped us. We chose not to do so. I would challenge anyone to come up with another nation/state in history who would have, given that option, made the choice that we did |
[Eating Bugs] After 399 rejections, Woman is saving the earth with BBQ chips made from bugs. Link |
The liberty of a democracy is not safe if the people tolerated the growth of private power to a point where it becomes stronger than the democratic state itself. That in its essence is fascism: ownership of government by an individual, by a group, or any controlling private power. ~FDR |
A Titanic museum in Tennessee received a 26-foot-long model of the famous ship constructed with 56,000 Legos by a boy with autism. Brynjar Karl Birgisson created the replica when he was 10 years old from a blueprint that he and his grandfather – an electrical engineer – drew up in their native Iceland. Birgisson, now 15, was nicknamed “the Lego boy” after taking his project on tour around Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Germany. Link |
[Sanctions Are Hurting North Korea] Can they make Kim give in? The isolated North is finding ways to cope with tough new penalties. Is the economic pressure enough to get Kim Jong-un to give up his weapons? Link |
[President’s Visit] I cannot believe the sick Lefties in KW who embarrassed the rest of us with their anti-Trump BS! We finally get a high quality, business oriented, man’s man to fix this country and throw out the blood sucking garbage. Trump will fix this welfare state and make the freeloaders work for their gruel. Link |
[The First Saw] 989. Daedalus and his nephew Talus invent the saw, the turning-lath, the wimble, the chip-ax, and other instruments of Carpenters and Ironers, and thereby give a beginning to those Arts in Europe. |
[Lame] I think people with bulky cellphone cases are lame. They pay a fortune for the thinnest phone on the market than wrap it in a thick case. |
It is a shame that all the protesters we see are gorps, dingbats, rejects and the losers of society. |
[Conquistadores 1518 Mexico] The Indians answered that returning our men and supplies was out of their power, since everything had been burnt, but owned that the greater part of the Spaniards had been eaten by themselves, and that five had been sent alive to Quauhtemoctzin in Mexico. |
When all your paper is is muckraking, cop-hating liberal garbage. Running down lifelong members of the community with blatant lies and attacking police for doing their job, things don’t end well. Good riddance to bad rubbish Blue Paper. |
