knoll22[Conspiracy Man’s Favorite Day] Today we remember the 50th anniversary of the assassination of our fallen President John Fitzgerald Kennedy! In respect to this despicable coup d’etat that took place in this country on November 22, 1963, I’m presenting this excellent documentary you will never see on TV. If you would really like to know who were the people responsible for the murder of our president, the coup d’etat that followed still today. Then watch this detailed and very well done documentary. It will be a surprise to some. Video

Cities that want to learn something about wastewater collection would do well to look at the examples of Farmington, CT, James City County, VA, High Springs, FL, Waterford, CT, and Rockridge, FL

It’s bad policy. These, and other community’s experiences, clearly demonstrate that grinder pumps in large numbers are bad policy for a public sewer system. They should be used in small numbers as rare exceptions for unique circumstances, not as a routine alternative to a central gravity or vacuum system.

[Idea] I wonder why they don’t just put those grinder pumps into the existing septic tanks. They could make the tanks sized to fit. Power on, stuff leaves, power off, the drain field that worked for 30 years takes over temporarily. And why fill in one hole, only to chip through caprock to make another.

[Developer Not Paying Tax To City] Excerpt from the article: “For five years BB’s lawyers never sought an official exemption, which would have carried the risk of being reviewed and denied.  Rather, they let sleepy dogs lie, silently getting away with not paying property taxes.  It became comical at the trial where nearly every witness was himself a lawyer yet each proclaimed his lack of knowledge on the basis that he had only followed the advice of counsel.” Link

[Friday Joke] Yesterday, I asked my wife for a newspaper.  She said, “Silly, use my iPad, you don’t need papers anymore”.  After picking up 42 pieces of plastic and other electronic materials off the floor, I finally found the dead spider underneath.  He never knew what hit him.
My wife is not speaking with me today.

[“Someone has opted to clean up part of Stock Island”] Yes, the new building is nice and that’s not the problem. What I was talking about the business type and the area it’s in being a mismatch as far as the majority of customers and maximizing profit goes. It would do better as a takeout/delivery joint, especially given the location. Later, sure if the population upscales then upscale the restaurant. The same mistake with Zaza’s, they upscaled too fast.

SoI can only assume this was done, just like Zaza’s, in order to sell it. Curb appeal seems to be the play, not making money as after all, books can be cooked.  ~dishwalladiamond3@gmail.com

Repairing failed grinder pumps — a link for those of us that will need this information. Link

And to think that those of us forced to have grinder pumps will have to pay extra for permits and will have to hire an electrician to hook up the stinking pumps. On top of that we will have our yards torn up to install a tank and an ugly electric box attached to our homes. And let’s not forget the blasted alarm that goes off when the power goes off. All this so that an overpriced marina can be bought with taxpayer money! Beam me up Scotty.

Did I understand it right, Sylvia Murphy is now the mayor of Monroe County? and did I hear Uncle George starting to turn back towards the grinder pumps? Lets face it, Little Torch, Ramrod, Big Pine, & Summerland, does not have enough money to fight the political machine unless we all come together. I wish Sloan would run against Uncle George. I would vote for him in a heartbeat, and run his campaign, unless we can get someone else to run. Who ever runs against Uncle George has my vote.

[Joke Friday] A lady is having a bad day at the tables in Vegas. Down to her last $100, completely exasperated, she cries, “What rotten luck! What in the world should I do now?”
A gent next to her, trying to calm her down a bit, calmly suggests, “I don’t know. Why don’t you play your age?”
He walks away. Moments later, his he is intrigued to hear a great commotion at the roulette table. Maybe, she won!
Rushing back to the table and pushing his way through the crowd, he is stunned to see the lady lying limp on the floor, with the table operator kneeling over her.
He asks, “What happened? Is she all right?”
The operator replies, “I don’t know, buddy. She put all her money on 29. When 36 came up she fainted!”

[“McDonalds connoisseur”] Like many wealthy people I know, I am an equal opportunity connoisseur, eating at least once at anyplace we find. That’s because good taste transcends price, atmosphere or much everything else basically. I’ve had awesome food in many locations around the world, from roadside trucks to fine restaurants that one has to reserve months in advance. If I want a McDonalds burger and fries, I’ll get one. I don’t think like a snob and I certainly see what Stock Island is, an industrial and workers housing zone. Snobs are the small minority and there are tons of gated communities on the mainland for them to be miserable to one another in.

balls22[Friday Joke] A man got on the bus with both of his front trouser pockets full of golf balls and sat down next to a beautiful blonde. The puzzled blonde kept looking at him and his bulging pockets. Finally, after many glances from her, he said, “It’s golf balls.”

religion politics zone

[Talk about hypocrisy] Frank Dodd and Barney Frank ruin the economy with their socialized subprime mortgage experiment. Nancy Pelosi ruins the auto market and with Obama ruins the healthcare market. Yet all the lefties can do is point to small issues on the right that pale in comparison. Take the board out your eyes first, then you can see clearly enough to take the speck out of ours.

[Regressive Hypocrisy #11] Republican Trey Radel from Florida voted yes on a bill that would require drug testing for welfare and food stamp recipients. Rep. Radel, however, just pleaded guilty to purchasing cocaine from an undercover cop!

[Selective Constitution] Obamacare is the law and the Right chose not to support it although Americans do, and so does the Supreme Court.

[Obamacare] Some Democrats are back peddling in fear. They’re spilling the beans about how Democrats lied & scammed the American people!  On Sunday, appearing on ABC’s This Week, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) “admitted that Democrats knew full well that Americans would be booted from their health insurance plans as an effect of Obamacare implementation.”

FTR stated yesterday that “the average family income of minimum wage earners is $65,900 per year”. If an individual earns $7.25 per hour and works 40 hours per week and works 52 weeks per year without a day off, he would make $15,080 per year. The Center for Poverty Research has indicated that the poverty threshold is $11,945 for an individual and $22,283 for a family of 4. How can anyone deny these people a raise?

In February 2003, Miguel Estrada became the first ever nominee to a federal appellate court to be successfully filibustered when a majority of Senate Democrats voted against cloture on his nomination. Estrada had been nominated to fill on a seat on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and was widely seen as a potential Supreme Court nominee. He was the first appellate nominee to be felled by a filibuster, but he would not be the last. During the Bush Administration, Senate Democrats successfully blocked cloture on 10 of President Bush’s appellate nominees. All ten enjoyed majority support and would have been confirmed on a bipartisan vote had they not been filibustered. Five of these nominees were eventually confirmed after the Gang of 14 deal and a swap of nominees for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. The other five were not.

During the Obama Administration, Senate Republicans have returned the favor, initially blocking cloture on Ninth Circuit nominee Goodwin Liu, followed by D.C. Circuit nominee Caitlin Halligan. This year, Senate Republicans have successfully filibustered three more nominees to the D.C. Circuit, arguing that the Obama Administration’s insistence on filling these three seats is an effort to tilt the ideological balance of the D.C. Circuit, particularly given that the court’s workload is down and there are unfilled judicial emergencies on other courts. The arguments Republicans make in support of this move parallel the arguments once made by Senate Democrats to justify their obstruction of judicial nominees during the last three Republican presidents.

Now that Senate Republicans have now successfully filibustered five Obama nominees — the same number as Senate Democrats blocked with a filibuster (but half those for which cloture was initially defeated) — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has changed the rules.

It’s rich for Senator Reid and his colleagues to complain about the use of a tactic they themselves deployed with relish (and used to defeat just as many nominees.

This is an historic moment on our constitutional history. With the change of Senate rules today by a simple majority to [allow a simple majority to] close debate on judicial nominations, a Rubicon has been crossed. Restoring our Lost Constitution has now been made far more feasible, and will make the 2014 & 2016 of enormous importance to our constitutional future.

Democrats will regret this as the end to modern liberalism and have only themselves to blame.

from the right

The poster who yesterday pointed out that the employment to population ratio declined during between 2001 and 2007, 6 years of Republican governance was absolutely correct. In the 6 years of Republican governance, the employment/population ratio decreased by 1.2%. In the ensuing 6 years, 4 of which were with full control of our governance by the Democrats and 2 1/2 years of the Democrats controlling the Presidency and the Senate, the employment/population ratio decreased by 4.7%, an decrease of nearly 4 fold.

Food_Stamp-obamaThe food stamp program grew by approximately 11,133 recipients per day from January 2009 to October 2012. In the first year of Democrat governance, (09) we spent $55.6 billion on food stamps. In ’12 we spent a record $80.4 billion on the food stamp program.

Since Obama took office, the number of Americans on disability has jumped 30%.

During the first Obama term, welfare spending increased by an astounding 32%. During Democrat/Liberal/Progressive governance, welfare has morphed from being a safety net to being a hammock.  Welfare pays more than a minimum-wage job in 35 states, creating little incentive for Americans to take entry-level work and likely increasing their long-term dependency on government help. Thanks to Democrat governance our economy is in shambles.

Part 2) Harry Reid, and Obama, and the Democrat Senators have made a huge, huge mistake. A grievous error that will cost them dearly in the years to come. Yesterday Reid et al violated the rules of the Senate by changing the rules of the Senate. Senate Democrats eliminated filibusters for most presidential nominations, severely curtailing the political leverage of the Republican minority in the Senate and assuring an escalation of partisan warfare. The Democrats shit canned a rule that had been in place for 225 years.

new-rule22The rule change means that federal judge nominees and executive-office appointments can advance to confirmation votes by a simple majority of senators, rather than the 60-vote supermajority that has long been required to end debate and proceed to an up-or-down majority vote to confirm or reject the nomination. The change does not apply to Supreme Court nominations. But the vote, mostly along party lines, but with some Democrats strongly dissenting,  dramatically alters the landscape for both Democratic and Republican future presidents, especially if their own political party holds a majority of, but fewer than 60, Senate seats.

Judicial nomination statistics show that Obama has a confirmation percentage of 76 percent.

Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., one of three Democrats who opposed the move, said it would “permanently damage” the Senate.

“This institution (the filibuster)  was designed to protect — not stamp out — the voices of the minority,” he said.

The Democrat perfidy will only further poison the well of Legislative comity, the rhetoric will become even more heated, and when the Republicans retake the Senate in ’14 there will be hell to pay for the Democrat minority.
