[Marathon’s Accountant Wife Beater] After returning home from a night of boozing,  Peter Rosasco allegedly backed his wife into their walk-in closet and began yelling insults at her. He then pushed her to the floor and into a chair. Deputies noticed red marks on Rosasco’s wife’s chest and  on both sides of her jaw line.  She also had a swollen upper lip. Rosasco described the outing as a “nice evening.”

Mary Rosasco said police have been called to their home in the past, and it wasn’t the first time the couple has fought. Nothing has been done because of her husband’s status in the community, she told deputies.

[The Uber Fan] It’s amazing, the bile that boils up from some folks regarding Macs and their products. I think there are just people out there that want their ‘team’ to win. Whether it be sports, politics, or products. Nobody’s forcing you to own a Mac. In the time it takes you to write a post about how awful Mac is, Apple makes enough money buy Rhode Island. In the bigger picture, you’re in a field, alone, just screaming at the sky.

[Travel Oddity] My sister travels all over the world and doesn’t see a thing. All she sees is what’s for sale and for how much and what’s to eat. I had her on my boat as witness to a truly fantastic sunset and she didn’t shut up for a minute or comment on it once. Sea life, birds–no comment or interruptions to her monologue. She didn’t like Egypt because the tourist junk was too expensive. As Carlos Castaneda said, people don’t ‘see’, or something like that.

True, the U.S. Gov. has never explicitly devalued its currency, being the worlds no.1 currency has it’s perks and the ability to print money proves it. Need another barrel of oil? Crank out the dough as oil is pegged to the greenback. It is all a house of cards at this point. Any economist  worth his salt will admit to this fact. 2 plus 2 equals 4, unless you’re running our Gov. then it will be equal to whatever the need is at the moment. Politicos double entendre talk is hilarious and everyone with an I.Q. of room temp realizes that fact.

On February 18, 1885 The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain was published

[Dog Rules] 1. If you have to throw up, get into a chair, quickly. If you can’t manage that in time, get to an Oriental rug. If no Oriental rug is available, any good rug will do. The middle of the human’s bed is a good spot too.
2. Always accompany guests to the bathroom. It’s not necessary to do anything; just sit and stare. When they are done, jump up and look in the bowl when they flush.
3. Do not allow closed doors in any room. To get a door opened, stand on our hind legs and hammer with your forepaws.
4. When supervising cooking, sit just behind the left heel of the cook. You cannot be seen and thereby stand a better chance of being stepped on, picked up, and consoled with food.  To get twice the number of treats, demand one before you go out and another when you come back in. 2 treats for only a few drops of urine!
5. Once a door is opened, it’s not necessary to use it. After you’ve ordered an outside door opened, stand halfway in and halfway out and think about several things. It’s particularly important during very cold or hot weather, rain, snow, and mosquito season.
6. Begin people-training early. You’ll then have a smooth-running household. Humans need to know the basic rules. They can be taught if you start early and are consistent.

[“No structure on stilts 180 MPH proof”] If it’s built out of concrete with preferably a concrete slab roof it most certainly is, and then some. Concrete may leak during wind driven rain if not properly sealed. The only danger is a flood washing a heavy vehicle to crash into the stilts. I saw a Hummer do that stilt pinball action, when the owner left it parked underneath.

[Stimulus Good] The White House says a costly stimulus bill was good for the economy and helped the U.S. avoid another Great Depression. Republicans are taking a dimmer view, arguing that the $787 billion economic stimulus bill amounted to too much spending for too few  results. The White House says in a new report that the bill, among other things, saved or created an average of 1.6 million jobs a year between 2009 and 2012.

washtub bass hillbillyIsland grass Music Fest, Sunday, February 23, 1-6 pm

Contemporary and traditional offerings and original tunes by Florida Keys performing songwriters are to highlight the musical menu during the 15th Annual Island Grass Music Fest. The musical afternoon benefits Habitat for Humanity of Key West and the Lower Florida Keys. The event is to take place at Boondocks Grille & Draft House, mile marker 27.5 on U.S. Highway 1.

The entertainment lineup features a host of the seasoned performers whose talents enrich the Florida Keys music scene — among them Howard Livingston, the Doerfel Family, Bill Blue & the Nervous Guys, Pat McCune, the Piper Road Spring Band and a trio composed of Gary Hempsey, Ron Baumann and event producer Terry Cassidy.

Festival attendees also can purchase food and beverages to enjoy with the music and bid on items at a silent auction to benefit Habitat for Humanity. Vendor booths and raffles are to round out the afternoon’s attractions.

Proceeds support Habitat’s mission vision of a world where everyone has a decent place to live. For more information contact Anna Symington, Program Services Coordinator  Events

[Computer Wars] “Didn’t accept why Macs were better at graphics than Windows” His argument is based upon previous Windows versions other than Win 7, which I would agree was such in that case. XP was a malware magnet, Vista was unpolished. With Windows 7, Microsoft certainly has caught up to OS X, many former Mac users and Windows users alike are very happy using it. Apple won’t allow Windows 7 installs on the newest issued Mac despite it being the most popular and well liked operating system in the world. Bunch of sore losers in my opinion.

Gov. Rick Scott proposed spending more than $213 million for a transportation hub including a rail line at Orlando International Airport. A key part of the project would use the new hub to link the Orlando airport with the private All Aboard Florida rail line that will run from South  Florida to central Florida. It is expected to begin service as early as late 2015.

Today’s Riddle: How do you total a vehicle without scratching the outside?A man in Waterton Park , (south of Calgary ), came out to find the inside of his 18 month old Toyota Sequoia trashed and the insurance company called it a total write-off. Fish and wildlife officers have inspected the damage and figure it was a 3 year old Grizzly.

[Computer Wars] The detailed explanation from the other day explaining why Macs do graphics better than any other operating system was just smoke and mirrors with no real evidence except the perception created by Mac fans. Those perceptions do not justify the almost twice the cost of Macs. They are no better at anything. If they were, more than the meager 3% of computer users would own one. the other 97% of computer users can’t all be dumb!

from the right

Part 1) Certainly nearly every reader of the CT will remember that the younger set, the millennial’s, were big fans of Team Obama and were very strong supporters of his candidacy, the younger set  voted for him in throngs. He courted their vote and they responded by the millions. Now they are suffering for a serious case of buyer’s remorse.

harvard logoToday, it’s a whole new ball game. Young Americans are turning against Barack Obama and Obamacare, according to a new Harvaaed survey of millennials, people between the ages of 18 and 29 who are vital to the fortunes of the president and his signature health care law.  Yes, I did write HARVAARD. According to Harvard University’s Institute of Politics, a majority of Americans under age 25–the youngest millennials–would favor throwing Obama out of office. America’s rising generation is worried about its future, disillusioned with the U.S. political system, and strongly opposed to the government’s domestic surveillance apparatus. Young Americans hold the president, Congress and the federal government in less esteem almost by the day, and the level of engagement they are having in politics are also on the decline,” reads the IOP’s analysis of its poll. “Millennials are losing touch with government and its programs because they believe government is losing touch with them.”

Amazingly 52% of millennials ages 18 to 24 say that they would recall-Obama if they could. 57 percent of millennials disapprove of Obamacare, with 40 percent saying it will worsen their quality of care and a majority believing it will drive up costs. Only 18 percent say Obamacare will improve their care. Among 18-to-29-year-olds currently without health insurance, less than one-third say they’re likely to enroll in the Obamacare exchanges.

Part 2) All across our great nation, liberal people are celebrating like 5 year old kiddies what they see as the wonderful accomplishments of the just now 5 year old stimulus act. Deer Friends they are celebrating noxious piles of Donkey Dung (Demo-crap)!

We haven’t talked about it for a while, so let’s review. The total cost of the stimulus act was nearly a trillion of your and my hard earned tax dollars and lotsa money borrowed from China.  We were promised that if the law passed unemployment would not exceed 8%. In fact, after the law was passed,  it grew to over 10%, now years later is down to about 6.6%.  Just for the record, that’s only about a point lower that it was when the bill was passed. Just for comparison, the rate was about 4% when the Dems took control of Congress and our purse strings while they were ushering in the recession.

Today even though our population has grown by millions, there are still  a million fewer people with jobs than there were then. Since the stimulus passed, food stamp usage has skyrocketed, and millions of people have simply quit looking for work. The unemployment numbers for blacks is obscene.

Obama told us that the money would only go to “shovel ready” jobs, Now, even he jokes that it didn’t. Link

Har Dee Har Har, ain’t that a knee slapper!

Billions were wasted on pie in the sky frivolous green energy federally funded escapades that soon went bankrupt. In a 2012 report the CBO suggested that the cost per job under the stimulus program might have been as high as $4 million. Link

Our recovery from the recession, steered and controlled by the Democrats and Mr. Obama has been the worst and slowest recovery since the Depression. Now, the growth of our GDP is roughly half of what it was 10 years ago.

Remember the “Cash for Clunkers” debacle that cost us nearly 3 billion and created nearly 0 jobs? Some studies suggested that it did not have any medium to long term effect on the auto industry and did nearly nothing to help the environment. It’s no wonder that when Pew did a poll a couple of years ago only 37% of Americans thought it had been a good idea.

During the Obama Presidency, while our nation has been under Democrat governance, real median income has dropped $2,627. The number of people in poverty has increased by 6,667,000. Now there are a record 46,496,000 new poor. Read it for yourself at Link

Deer Friends, the stimulus program in and of itself is not responsible for the continuing mess that we are in, it was only one sad example of horrible fiscal policy that keeps us mired in a fiscal swamp. Liberal economics is an oxymoron.

spock18Here in Florida, since Scott has been our governor and since we’ve had Republican control of the legislative branch of Florida’s government, our state has made a nearly miraculous fiscal recovery from the miasma of the fiscal swamp that Charlie Crist led us into.

Go Ye forth and Prosper.
