an marine logo[Fake Marine] Yesterdays fraud detective needs to be the one apologizing. I’m not the poster he alluded to, but I am a regular poster here and a retired US Marine. Myself and FTR are always at odds, but that’s beside the point. Leave political ideologies out of it.

Fraud detective, you know not what you are discussing. Regardless of what the poster was referring to in “arriving/landing” stateside and receiving his ‘leave papers’, just ask him to clarify what he meant. As we age (and The Vietnam war ended 40 yrs ago. For some it was 50 yrs ago) we tend to lose the clarity of memory for exact sequences and procedures concerning things we really wish not to remember.

As a 22 year US Marine, never  in my career have I ever heard of “levy papers”. When one is being assigned a new duty station within the Marine Corps, every Marine is issued a permanent or temporary Change of Station orders. Upon discharge that permanent change of station orders is to the Fleet Marine Reserve or your domicile/home of record.

I think it is you my friend, that owes that poster a huge apology. It is you my friend, who is the poster of incorrect information and assumptions. Leave orders can be issued by any command anywhere the Marine happens to be attached, regardless of location.

You stand corrected publicly.

Cuba’s political prisoners were mostly supporters of the dictator Castro overthrew. Castro did betray his people when he gained power imposing Socialism instead of Democracy, but most of the Cuban people like him.

[Ghetto Humor] And we complain about electricity for all, wind mills, iguanas, the FTR guy, Mosquito Control, Cats. Dogs, Castro, Cubans, and Winn Dixie … Just think if we had a nice ghetto to visit. Link

[Conspiracy] I have learned a few things about conspiracy theories, as I believe they have been with us since the dawn of time, a large part of these thoughts are due to the fact that people who are busy making their living by old fashioned labor always seem to assume that those in high places always know what they are doing. When they do something that makes no sense, devious reasons are imagined by conspiracy theorists, when in fact it is often times due to plain old ignorance and incompetence.

Politically corporations are in about as weak a position as I can remember, hence many of them have been forced out of this country to do their thing. Frankly the climate for capitalism in the United States has been in a downward trend for about forty years, and with the mindset of the majority of young voters I see no abatement in this trend. Keep in mind seventeen trillion dollars of debt that is rising every day. Our fearless leaders tell us we are cutting expenses to the bone. There will be a day of reckoning as long as two plus two equals four.

[Keystone Pipeline] In man’s insatiable quest  for jobs and greed he often forgets that wildlife also includes the little things that run the world–the insects and other invertebrates that form the foundation of the ecosystems of the land. As we develop more and more land and exterminate species after species –that is bound to have an overall effect on the planet. We should not preserve just warm and fuzzy creatures, but stop the extermination of all creatures. They all play an intricate role in our environmental health and well being. Oil doesn’t.

Researchers back Neil Armstrong‘s claim about moon landing speech. What did he really say? Video

[Developers] Judge Audlin has just ruled that there is a need for an actual trial  in November regarding the whole issue, and boy, will the truth come out then!

One  reader writes, “Could we please stop already with the Balfour Beatty property tax issue” and “the land and all structures are not subject to state laws”.

I clicked on the link he provides and found that “in 1940, Congress required the federal government to formally accept exclusive jurisdiction over land acquired from the states. If no formal acceptance occurs, then the state retains all jurisdiction, including taxation authority, over the acquired land”.

Well in 1991 the Secretary of the Navy’s office requested and received concurrent jurisdiction on all Navy property here called cession.

My fellow citizen, you are misinformed and the ground lease is taxable as are the improvements on the land.- not the land itself- no one is saying that. We just want the property taxes from this billion dollar mega corporation that lied to us. Why should we subsidize Balfour Beatty when they knew they were liable for taxes? Maybe it would be fairer if anyone who rents to active duty folks got the same tax breaks, eh? There we could agree I am sure. Thanks for your interest.though.

[Mosquitoes] An old lady year ago taught me a Mosquito killing trick on her farm. She had a big lake and just added a few spoonfulls of Skin-So-soft to the water. It spread across the 2.5 acre lake like a film. No mosquitoes can get through that film and die under water. Where’s that DC3 when we need it!

an_zero-topredo[Pearl Harbor] This is really interesting. I never knew this little bit of history. I purchased a small book entitled “Reflections on Pearl Harbor ” by Admiral Chester Nimitz.

On Sunday, December 7th, 1941 Admiral Chester Nimitz was attending a concert in Washington D.C. He was paged and told there was a phone call for him. When he answered the phone, it was President Franklin Delano Roosevelt on the phone. He told Admiral Nimitz that he (Nimitz) would now be the Commander of the Pacific Fleet. Admiral Nimitz flew to Hawaii to assume command of the Pacific Fleet.

He landed at Pearl Harbor on Christmas Eve, 1941. There was such a spirit of despair, dejection and defeat–you would have thought the Japanese had already won the war. On Christmas Day, 1941, Adm. Nimitz was given a boat tour of the destruction wrought on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese. Big sunken battleships and navy vessels cluttered the waters every where you looked. As the tour boat returned to dock, the young helmsman of the boat asked, “Well Admiral, what do you think after seeing all this destruction?” Admiral Nimitz’s reply shocked everyone within the sound of his voice. Admiral Nimitz said, “The Japanese made three of the biggest mistakes an attack force could ever make, or God was taking care of America. Mistake number one: the Japanese attacked on Sunday morning. Nine out of every ten crewmen of those ships were ashore on leave. If those same ships had been lured to sea and been sunk–we would have lost 38,000 men instead of 3,800. Mistake number two: when the Japanese saw all those battleships lined in a row, they got so carried away sinking those battleships, they never once bombed our dry docks opposite those ships. If they had destroyed our dry docks we would have had to tow every one of those ships to America to be repaired. As it is now, the ships are in shallow water and can be raised. One tug can pull them over to the dry docks, and we can have them repaired and at sea by the time we could have towed them to America. I already have crews ashore anxious to man those ships. Mistake number three: Every drop of fuel in the Pacific theater of war is in top-of-the-ground storage tanks five miles away over that hill. One attack plane could have strafed those tanks and destroyed our entire fuel supply. That’s why I say the Japanese made three of the biggest mistakes an attack force could make or God was taking care of America.

[Your Honor my clients are morons] In New Haven, Conn., in March, police had trapped two car-thefts in a multifamily building whose occupants were hiding from the suspects, thus necessitating urgency in ending the siege. Officers ordered a K-9 unit but were told it would be delayed. In a tactic departments occasionally employ, officers still threatened to release the dogs immediately, and to make the threat credible, available officers began barking. The suspects quickly surrendered rather than face the vicious canines. Woof!

[Mosquito Control] If I am correct or not probably depends on where you live and how much time you try to spend outdoors when the weather is a little cooler in the morning and evening.  But I am convinced that Mosquito Control is totally a reactionary organization.  They seem to respond to an area where enough people have complained. Well that is too late, the horse is already out of the barn.  It does seem as if a bit more prevention could amount to much more in solving or minimizing our mosquito population. They know where the hot spots are by now and should act to quelch them before they are too bad.

[Spittle] I was in the Navy from 1965 thru 1968, I was never spit at, but I lost count on how many times I was called a baby killer. To travel we had to wear uniforms in order get reduce fares as soon as I got off the plane I would change into civilian clothes to hide my service from the anti-war public. It would have been nice to be thanked, but that just did not happen back then.

[Mosquito] With the average life span of a female mosquito is 3 to 100 days. the male lives 10 to 20 days it could very well be a long three months.  However I am doing everything I can by lowering the mosquito population one at a time.

[“Stop with the Balfour Beatty property tax issue”] I do not think that you understand that the property and housing are now owned by the privately owned business and are rented out to anyone willing to pay the low costs rent. They are landlords to anyone who wants to rent.

an_tornado_smile[Tornadoes can be deadly] The storm chasers killed in Oklahoma proved one thing. Tornadoes can be deadly. I think they knew that.  Nice going guys. You’d think that with all the info they had about tornadoes that they would chase chicks and stay the hell away from tornadoes.  I think the lesson here is, tornadoes can be deadly. I wish Jim Cantore would go chase tornadoes.

What’s with all the praise for Mosquito Control spraying Big Pine? It’s their job and they used to do it more often, when they didn’t set aside so much of our money for their bloated personnel expenses.

[Climate Fail] Europe is mulling import tariffs on cheap Chinese solar panels to protect its own manufacturers; it could learn something from America’s attempt to do the same last year. Hint: it didn’t work.

The market is heavily distorted at this point; governments are propping up a nascent technology that can’t compete on price on its own. States can continue to subsidize producers and tax imports all they want, but that doesn’t fix the underlying problem: this technology isn’t ready for market.

The greens have deluded themselves into thinking that somehow market forces didn’t apply to manufacturing clean tech. It just illustrates the lack of policy competence in the green community, and the cleverness of crony capitalists, who know the silly greens will lobby for your sweetheart deal if you sprinkle some of their favorite phrases into the promotional literature. [My Birthday Gift]  I am a retired single man. I own a duplex home on the water. One side works perfect for me, and the other side is rented to 2 women who are also significant others. They are great tenants, clean, no noise, considerate, ideal tenants. One evening a couple of weeks ago, they came over and said that they knew my birthday was approaching and would like a suggestion as to what I would like as a gift. Having had a few evening cocktails, I told them that I really wanna watch. Sure enough, they bought me a nice Timex. Sigh.

[Guns] When George W. Bush supported an assault weapons ban, they called it “sensible” now that president Obama is saying the same thing, they call it an attack on freedom. Why is it different with Obama?

Of course FTR uses and likes Medicare. You didn’t actually expect him to admit it did you. If he lives long enough he’ll use and like Obamacare too.

I am glad the IRS is keeping an eye those fascist right wing kook groups like the Tea Party.

gc4[God & Country] To the guy who thinks this Marine is a phoney – please Deer Ed share my e-mail with this poster so that he can get the full brunt of the Marine in me — or maybe he will become a new friend.

To anyone who believes that we did not get spit at – you were not there. This guy is spitting at me now.

I knew Marines that would get out of their uniform and wear disguises to go on liberty. This is why Vietnam Vets have had such hard lives. They never received public acceptance for their devotion to duty and sacrifice when they returned home from an unpopular war.

I never claimed to be any sort of hero, but I was willing to fight hard or crawl into dirty tunnels for a Country that I love so dearly — so did everyone else that was there. Most men that fought wars had weeks that they were not in any combat. The “line company” Marine in Vietnam was in actual combat almost every day. It seemed like it was perpetual 24/7 combat. Still then only 10% of Vietnam Veterans actually fought like that.

We were born in the home of the brave. To see America turn into a country run by cowards hurts those of us who love this freedom and fought so dearly for it. That’s the point I was trying to make. No movie has yet been made that depicts the bravery of those that I knew in that war. The movies that have been made depict our guys as dopers and immature idiots and that was just not the case. We prayed for our courage and trusted in God. America was built on men and women that fought bravely because they trusted in God to prevail in battle.

Our American fighting men are still the same as they were 1775 right up to date. It is our leaders that are turning our country into crap. They are trying to take God out of America when America was founded by Him.

Thank you back to all the Americans who love God and Country for your support. Keep the faith, read the Book and know how this all ends.

P.S. I sent a combat photo but it wasn’t published.

[Fair Share] I have never understood why it is “greed” to want to keep the money you have earned, but not greed to want to take somebody else’s money.

I just heard someone on Fox News say that Watergate was a stupid thing to do.  Didn’t say “bad”, just stupid.  I guess that’s because Nixon got caught.

Hey FTR guy the next time you use Medicare or Obamacare have them check your vision. The question had NOTHING to do with whether or not you support Medicare. Here’s the question again: “Are you, as an “Old Fart”, enjoying the benefits of Medicare? Yes or no answer please.”

Bradley Manning freedom of speech? How is posting classified information on the internet freedom of speech?  His defense says he struggles with his gender. Sounds like Bradley wants to be Brandy.

[Trust The IRS] Duh, who ever did  trust this moronic agency? It is so easy to file a bogus return and scam the American Taxpayer. I was scammed in 2012. A friend was scammed in 2012. My daughter was scammed in 2010. Scammers file a return in your name, SSAN, and get a debit card from the IRS. Then they go on a spending spree. The system invites fraud.

Obama designed Obamacare to be administered by this corrupt agency. Link

Thank God for small things, the pitifully few pluses that have happened to the country during the Obama presidency would have been non existent completely if the Republicans would not have regained control of the congress.

We keep hearing from the right a boatload of reasons why the republicans lost the election. We have heard its because Obama is black so he nailed the black vote. Then we heard its because people just want free stuff and then it was because Americans are not educated enough to make wise decisions. Turns out it may simply be that  most American voters in the age group from 18-29 voted for Obama. That does indeed kill the free stuff rhetoric and surely destroys the Obama is black so minorities only voted for him because of that.

A report by the college republican national committee found that most students hold views closer to  those of democrats. fact is 60% of voters in colleges across America did indeed vote for our President.

The report also stated that 50% of college students do want government spending cut significantly. The place where they differ from others is that they want to start with Defense spending. A strict no-no in Republican circles. Only 3 percent of them wanted more tax cuts for the wealthy. These people are Americas future shouldn’t be taken lightly.

And interesting fact is that 41 percent of the students felt that Obamacare will indeed make health care better while only 32 percent feel it will hurt healthcare.

America will continue on and the young people of this country will do as they have done for our nation thru out time. They will lead us on to a strong America with its diversity and anyone who feels otherwise simply have to look at the 2 wars our troops have just fought and see the outstanding job they have done and look at the technological changes they are advancing every day. The medical advances these same young folks are in charge of are very impressive indeed.

Its wasn’t because of free stuff it wasn’t because of minorities voting for Obama the win was because the young and the brilliant  believe in this country. I wish some others had the confidence and could see the greatness of this country others have lost along the way.

FTR sweetie, I did not ask if you supported Medicare, use your archives and you’ll find that I asked you if you used Medicare. Remember me asking you to quit with the muddy water? Clarity, FTR, clarity and please come correct. I always do, its called maturity.

[IRS 88] For the CT reader who wants to know where he IRS 88 came from. Notes on the IRS 88:

An administrative note about today’s news and the 88 IRS employees involved in the targeting. It’s already been reported that employees who signed off on letters or made inquiries reported to four or five different managers. The Service does things by “group,” with employees – Revenue Agents, Revenue Officers, and Special Agents assigned to groups under a Group Manager. That’s now a Supervisory Special Agent in CI, but everybody still uses the Group Manager title in conversation. Groups are usually 10 – 15, with 11 or 12 agents being pretty common. So, having five different managers would imply that at least 50 and as many as 75 agents were involved at some point. Over time, with people coming and going, 88’s not unreasonable

What this means, though, is that policy was spread over five groups. This isn’t just something that happened with one or two people in one group, or even a “rogue” GM. Somebody set a policy for an entire office, and made sure at least five Groups got the word. That could only have happened in writing, and must have come from at least two levels above the GM. The level above is a Branch Chief, and Branch Chiefs don’t make policy either. Neither does the level above that. Again, I don’t know exactly how Exempt Organizations is structured, but in CI, a Branch Manager (the Assistant Special Agent in Charge) wouldn’t have more than four groups. Policy comes from DC.

Plus, IRS tries very hard to make policy uniform, so people in New York can’t point to Minnesota and say, “you’re treating those gophers differently.” That’s practically the whole justification for the otherwise completely useless Department of Justice Tax Division. Somebody in DC made this particular policy, passed it down, made sure that every EO Group in Cincinnati was treating every Tea Party/Patriot/etc. applicant the same way, and every employee got the word. Link

FROM THE RIGHT

right only grey

sad4Yesterday a poster denigrated comments that have made criticizing the current administrators management of our economy, for some reason that poster is of the view that all is well in the world. Let’s take a brief look at just a few of his claims:

He stated, “…we have already for the most part ended the war for lies and we are making exit plans to leave Afghanistan…” The fact is that the liberal code words “wars for lies” references the Iraq wars. The code words imply that the war was nothing but a reckless adventure fomented by the Bush presidencies. First of all, the Iraq wars, 1 & 2, received near unanimous support from Democrats. Both were fully funded by Democrat legislators. Both wars were sanctioned by the UN. Both wars were fought by a worldwide volunteer coalition of free nations. The wars ultimately saved the world from one of the cruelest and aggressive tyrants in history. Bush 1 ended the first Iraq war. Bush 2 ended the second Iraq war.  Bush 2 had intended to leave a peace keeping military presence in Iraq. Obama failed to do so, thanks to Obama’s failure, Iraq on the cusp of falling into the hands of Muslim fundamentalists.

3 or 4 years ago Mr. Obama announced that we would depart Afghanistan in 2014.  As a consequence, AQI, the Taliban, and sundry like organizations have bided their time, grown in power and influence and they are now  poised to seize power and to again be a, if not the, biggest fomenter of terrorism on our planet. Need I remind anyone that for the first time since the Carter Administration, an American Ambassador was killed by terrorist while at his post. Muslim fundamentalist terrorism is a flame that is burning out of control throughout much of the world.

As to the posters claim that: “Over 40 of our states have had unemployment rates drop, businesses are making record profits and within a decade America will be the worlds largest energy supplier.” A quick read of Bureau of Labor Stats report released on March 18 shows that most of that recovery is coming from so called “Red States”, i.e. states that are conservative. There are 31 states with an unemployment rate below the national average. 21 of those states are considered conservative. I suggest you read Link. There is much more at that web site.

Yesterdays poster wrote: “….unemployment rates drop, businesses are making record profits and within a decade America will be the worlds largest energy supplier.” First, when the Democrats took control of Congress and our governance in 2007, the unemployment rate was 4.6%, today it is nearly twice that. Second: It is true that the American petroleum industry is booming, but that is in spite of Obama. He  has dramatically curtailed new drilling on federal land during his presidency, further, he is fundamentally opposed to hydrocarbon fuels. He has steadfastly refused to permit the construction of the KeyStone pipeline.

Yesterday’s poster wrote that businesses are making record profits.  That may or may not be true. But, what is true is that we have endured Democrat governance for 6 ½ years out of the past 10 years.  During those few years middle class family wealth has fallen by 28 percent from $130,000 to $93,000, while median income for a family of four fell 5 percent, to $68,000. Under Democrat governance, the rich get richer and the poor get screwed……ahem…..pardon me. They get poorer.

The unemployment rate for minorities (except Asians) is much higher than the rate for whites. The rich get richer, the poor get poorer.  Anyone who doesn’t think that all of the above is a crisis, is just not thinking.
