(Editor: For a while last Friday, I couldn’t post any pictures at all, not one. That was awful for a site such as this one that uses pictures and animation so heavily. GoDaddy couldn’t find the problem and kept bumping me up the tech support ladder until a guy went, “Wow, I’ve never seen this.” What it was is that I had too many pictures posted, after twenty years of posting pictures, and I filled up the server. Actually that was part of the photos I’ve published. Preciously I lost all photos from 2002 to 2012. So from 2013 to 2022 I had 250,000 pictures stored on the server—a quarter of a million. For that last few days I have been deleting pictures from the server to make the CT work again. The only casualty so far other than a worn out “delete” finger is a lot of the pages on bigpinekey.com are missing images. Eventually I’ll replace them.

So far, I’ve deleted 30,449 pictures and that freed up tons of space. Back in business.)

[Specialty Contractors Nixed] House Bill HB 735 eliminates all specialty contractors as of July 2023. All these existing companies and their employees will be out of luck come July; and if you need work or their services, “tough s**t says the Florida legislators.  You will have to hire a primary contractor because they made it illegal for counties to issue specialty licenses. Another screw up. Thousands of people screwed.

An online survey asked me if I sleep with a fan and I didn’t really know how to answer. I’m pretty sure my wife likes me and she tolerates me, but calling her a fan is pushing it.

[Christmas Costume] I just watched a Christmas party on tv where the guests had to dress up as their favorite Christmas song. I immediately knew what my costume was going to be. I will dress as an old woman (if you can believe that). And I will put some hoof prints on my back. You guessed it. I’m going as “Grandma got run over by a Reindeer!”
