 [Rude] Opting to play music aloud rather than through headphones, lack of self-awareness while walking down the center of a grocery store aisle… the list of rude behaviors people experience while in public is endless.While certain behaviors in one city may be viewed as typical mannerisms to those who live there, they may be perceived as rude to those visiting, but we also know that sometimes rude behavior is simply rude behavior with no ties to culture. Key takeaways: Residents in Miami, FL, Philadelphia, PA, and Tampa, FL, are the rudest in 2024. Residents in Omaha, NE, Minneapolis, MN, and San Diego, CA, are the least rude in 2024. Louisville, KY, Charlotte, NC, Austin, TX, and Chicago, IL, residents have become ruder since 2022. Lack of care for others, being loud in shared spaces, and a lack of self-awareness are the most common rude behaviors Americans witness others doing in public. The older an American is, the more likely they are to think transplant residents are ruder than natives in their city. With the upcoming election, 1 in 2 Americans think residents of their city have become more rude. Compared to the rest of their state’s residents, 1 in 4 Americans think the residents of their city are the rudest. Nearly 1 in 4 Americans have considered moving somewhere else due to people’s rude behaviors in their city. |

| [Illegal eBikes] Forces across the UK confiscated 937 e-bikes in the year Last year, just 511 were seized. Electric motors fitted to e-bikes must, by law, cut out when a speed of 15.5mph is reached. However, police are increasingly finding many have been modified to reach much higher speeds.  Microsoft’s Three Mile Island deal is very good news. At risk of understatement, let’s call it a big deal. Microsoft Corp.’s agreement with Constellation Energy Corp. to reopen the Three Mile Island nuclear plant in Pennsylvania could prove highly consequential — for the green-energy transition and much else besides. Constellation will invest $1.6 billion to restart one reactor at the plant — known globally as the site of an infamous meltdown more than four decades ago — while Microsoft will agree to buy 20 years’ worth of power for its data operations. “Policymakers and the market have received a huge wake-up call,” Constellation’s CEO told Bloomberg. |
