[MRSA] The home remedy might work if it is on the skin, but once it finds a break in the skin and you have an infection (which certainly includes an abscess) it spreads. Thirty percent of people who get MRSA die due to delays in treatment. 

I know a little something about drug resistant staph infections. I just sent 10 days in LKMC on constant IV drips of antibiotics and morphine, getting out on Christmas Day. I was told if I had waited another 48 hours I would have been dead.

I underwent surgery twice, with teams of 3 doctors. Flesh eating bacteria does not actually eat flesh, but it kills it. It has to be cut out. I have 8 open wounds, 6 of them large, in my groin and side, and one arm. They can’t be stitched and have to heal from the inside. That will take 4 to 6 weeks.

MRSA can live on skin and 4 percent of people have it in their nose. It is in the environment. I was doing some handyman work carrying old plywood from a floor, balancing it on my stomach to get it outside. I was wearing only a t-shirt. That is where it started. It was a big angry infection, but broke and drained. I thought I was good. Then big black boils broke out on my arm and what appeared to be, at first, pore infections, broke out in my groin area which spread upwards to my side in a few days.

I have over $3,000 in prescriptions. Just half of one antibiotic is $300 and the other is $700. I did pay $200 for some secondary prescriptions. Frankly I am broke and of course have no insurance (trying to get my own business off the ground after working here for others for 10 yrs.). State help will take a month to process. The only non-profit doing pharma I could find in Key West will put up only $100. Never mind the pain pills, I can’t go without the antibiotics.

So, anyone have any other answers or information?

Mr. gloom and doom, sometimes I agree with you other times I believe you are a little off your game, on the one hand you chastise posters to use a little common sense when posting, yet when passing judgment on the remarks made by the poster concerning prescription drugs in my opinion you violated your own edict, now it was obvious to at least this poster that the  person passing on Info about prescription drugs and non prescription was talking about mind altering drugs for the purpose of a more euphoric state of mind , while one may indeed experience a different state of mind using drugs stored under the kitchen sink I seriously doubt this is what the poster had in mind when making his comparison, a little more comprehension on your part was missing I would say when you gave your stern rebuttal to your fellow poster. Having said all this I must say many times I think your comments are indeed “on the money.”

I purchased my semiautomatic AR15 (Bushmaster) my AK47 and several hand guns for recreational purposes. They are really fun to shoot, you should try it, you might like. I have taught my two children how to properly handle any firearm with great emphasis on gun safety. I carry a concealed hand gun with me at all times. We do live in a violent world and I am not going to be someone’s victim. I have never killed anything so far, other than paper targets and empty bottles and cans. I will tell you this; if you break into my house to rape my daughter, kill my wife or cause anyone one in my household great bodily harm I will shoot you, without hesitation, dead on the spot. Then you can say I bought my guns to kill.

You must keep in mind that when many of those on the left hear those words they immediately glom onto them as if they were gospel. I believe it makes them feel chic and in with the know all things crowd. [Boat Fuel Gauge] Can someone tell me how to adjust my flue tank float? When the empty light flashes on my fuel indicator I still have 25 gallons of gas left, enough to go about another hundred miles. That’s too much reserve fuel to carry around. That’s an extra 1500 pounds of excess weight. I would like to have enough reserve fuel to go about fifty additional miles. I have an 80 gallon tank.

[Good Vibrations] Now hold on … I take exception to that comment about women and vibrators! Being a woman and who owns a vibrator (like almost all women), I think I can speak to the line that we own them because their men can’t please them.  We have them to climax–end of story.   We have our men because we love them and are happy (read: pleased) with them. Again, end of story.

President Barack Obama on Friday signed an executive order that will lift the pay freeze for federal employees and grant members of Congress and other federal officials pay increases in 2013. Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) is asking the president to take back his order and offer pay increases to no one until a long-term deficit reduction agreement is reached.

Rank-and-file members of Congress would all see a $900 bump next year — up from $174,000. Congressional leaders will receive a slightly higher raise, with the House speaker receiving a $1,100 salary increase to $224,600. The top two Senate leaders will see pay rise $1,000, to $194,400.

Vice President Biden, meanwhile, will see his pay increase from $225,521 last year to $231,900 after his raise goes into effect March 27, 2013.

While the minions were busy gearing up for the New Year celebration, they got screwed and didn’t even get kissed. Notice how all these people’s salary falls below the limits of the highly taxed.

May 2013 bring the fight for term limits to the forefront. For every time we post to the CT we should post to our representatives. How is that for a New Years resolution?

We all have got to tighten our belts at the same rate the government does. I’m going to bite the bullet, too. President Obama ordered the cabinet to cut $100,000,000.00 ($100 million) from the $3,500,000,000,000.00 ($3.5 trillion) federal budget. I’m so impressed by this sacrifice that I have decided to do the same thing with my personal budget. I spend about $2,000 a month on groceries, household expenses, medicine, utilities, etc., but it’s time to get out the budget cutting axe, go through my expenses, and cut back. I’m going to cut my spending at exactly the same ratio (1/35,000) of my total budget.
After doing the math, it looks like instead of spending $2,000 a month, I’m going to have to cut that number by six cents. Yes, I’m going to have to get by with $1999.94, but that’s what sacrifice is all about.
I’ll just have to do without some things, that are, frankly, luxuries – six cents worth. Did this President actually think no one would do the math?
