[Key Deer Zoo] Fence the South side of Watson on No Name Key. Fence Watson on the North side on Big Pine Key. This reduces the likelihood of a deer on the roads by approximately 50%, maybe more. Now, raise the speed limit from 25 mph on Wilder Rd) to 35 mph. At 25 mph, they think they are going to be fed. At 35 mph, they keep their heads down, eating grass. Whew, what a relief. |
Hank Jr, CDB and David Allen Coe all have new, more modernized stuff out. Ted Nugent has new album out and I can guarantee hardly anybody south of Everglages City has heard Moccasin Creek O or Mikel Knight or Jawga Boyz or Bottleneck(Jackie Strickland) Try it you may like it. Just because an artist was around in 70s does not mean the music has to be the same ole crap. BMI and other record companies control what you hear on the radio; just ask any starving artist who writes original music. If they want to play ball with record labels you will never know how good they are. Moccasin Creek — Southern Renegade |

[Direct Deposit Food] I just got notice from the Social Insecurity Department that I can set up a direct deposit to any supermarket and not have to worry about paying my food bills every month unless I over buy. Good idea because they take it all anyway. |
[Usama Bin Laden] There is no universally accepted standard for transliterating Arabic words and Arabic names into English; bin Laden’s name is most frequently rendered “Osama bin Laden”. The FBI and Central Intelligence Agency as well as other U.S. governmental agencies, have used either “Usama bin Laden” or “Usama bin Ladin”. Less common renderings include “Ussamah bin Ladin” and, in the French-language media, “Oussama ben Laden”. Other spellings include “Binladen” or, as used by his family in the West, “Binladin”. The decapitalization of bin is based on the convention of leaving short prepositions and articles uncapitalized in surnames; however, bin means “son of” and is not, strictly speaking, a preposition or article. The spellings with o and e come from a Persian-influenced pronunciation also used in Afghanistan, where bin Laden spent many years. Osama bin Laden’s full name, Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden, means “Osama, son of Mohammed, son of Awad, son of Laden”. “Mohammed” refers to bin Laden’s father Mohammed bin Laden; “Awad” refers to his grandfather, Awad bin Aboud bin Laden, a Kindite Hadhrami tribesman; “Laden” refers not to bin Laden’s great-grandfather, who was named Aboud, but to a more distant ancestor. The Arabic linguistic convention would be to refer to him as “Osama” or “Osama bin Laden”, not “bin Laden” alone, as “bin Laden” is a patronymic, not a surname in the Western manner. According to bin Laden’s son Omar bin Laden, the family’s hereditary surname is “al-Qahtani” (Arabic: القحطاني, āl-Qaḥṭānī), but bin Laden’s father Mohammed bin Laden never officially registered the name. FTR, IF you were blogging on a “government” website you might be 50% correct but you are here, on the Coconut Telegraph, not a ‘US government’ coconut telegraph. [Inalienable Rights] 1) The founders made clear that the rights enshrined in the Constitution, including its first ten amendments, are the birthright of all free people. The Constitution does not grant or bestow them because they are not government’s to give (or deny) – these are rights that belong to the people as surely as they own their own skin. The Constitution merely recognizes that they exist and are beyond the reach of a legitimate government. Thus, attacks on the Second Amendment are attacks on the foundation upon which the US was built, and as such, should be repugnant to all, not just to gun owners. 2) The founders, having just fought a war for independence from England, would never have tolerated a society in which the employees of government were equipped with arms denied to the population at large. |

I love you. The husband, being a no-nonsense sort of guy, texted back: I’m on the toilet. Please advise. |

[Captain Doom and Gloom] What this world needs is a lot more Fonzies and a hell of a lot less Furitzies! It is getting to the point trying to present logical and adult views to save our country and show people what is going on is a total waste of time on this blog. People here do not read the words, do not logically deduce the truths, do not reply with grace and dignity, let alone have anything to show to display their viewpoint. The hate read thing does define most all posts of late and that shows the abilities of posters are wanting. Too many negative thoughts in the Misery Loves Company realm. Sad but true! “How come they don’t have brake lights on the front of cars” For the same reason they don’t have steering wheels in the back seat! I downloaded a world map showing all the countries with border lines and names. I blackened out all the countries I would never want to travel to, including our US States. I might visit AU, NZ, and some South Pacific islands, but I’m staying in the freaking Keys forever….after I fix them! |
[Gun-violence] Paul Bedard of the Washington Examiner has uncovered a fascinating document: an 80-page “talking points” monograph titled ” Preventing Gun Violence Through Effective Messaging,” written by a trio of Democratic political operatives. The document, as Bedard writes, instructs politicians and advocates “to hype high-profile gun incidents like the Florida slaying of Trayvon Martin to win support for new gun control laws.” Essentially it’s a how-to book on inciting a moral panic. “The most powerful time to communicate is when concern and emotions are running at their peak,” it advises. Antigun advocates are urged to seize opportunistically on horrific crimes: “The debate over gun violence in America is periodically punctuated by high-profile gun violence incidents including Columbine, Virginia Tech, Tucson, the Trayvon Martin killing, Aurora, and Oak Creek. When an incident such as these attracts sustained media attention, it creates a unique climate for our communications efforts.” “When talking to broader audiences, we want to meet them where they are,” the authors advise. “That means emphasizing emotion over policy prescriptions, keeping our facts and our case simple and direct, and avoiding arguments that leave people thinking they don’t know enough about the topic to weigh in.” The Democratic Party has disintegrated into a violent cult of racsist agitators! |

I didn’t know FTR was on such friendly terms with Osama bin Laden that he addresses him by his nickname, Usama. |
We have become the food stamp/welfare nation. 47.5 million of us are on food stamps. That’s an increase of 1.3 million in just the last year, 14 million since Obama took office. Polling shows that 57% of us believe that most of the recipients are taking advantage of the system. Only 36% believe that they are truly in need.
One in 7 of us are on food stamps. Fraud and abuse is rampant, but a huge part of the problem is the government’s very aggressive promotion of welfare. The government has engaged in a massive advertising campaign promoting food stamps and welfare. Oregon was given a $5 million dollar “performance bonus” for signing up food stamp recipients. Since 2008 the state has seen a 60% boost in the number of food-stamp recipients, which means that more than 780,000 people (one out of five Oregonians) get groceries compliments of Uncle Sam, that means you, it comes out of your pocket. The Obama administration is offering $75k grants to states and governments who increase food stamps participation. Their literature states that their efforts are aimed at minorities and aim to overcome the “pride” associated with not taking welfare. Imagine that! 53 percent of Democrats say that the American dream is no longer achievable. By comparison, 55 percent of Republicans say the dream is still achievable. It’s tragic, but living on welfare and accepting handouts from the government is becoming an accepted way of life. That is tragic and a deadly statistic. Many will argue that those sad stats are exactly the goal of the left. Many will argue that expanding the number of people who rely on government for sustenance, expands the base of Democrat voters. There is truth, much truth to that argument. In the last 4 1/12 years the chasm between the poor and the wealthy has widened. At the same time the middle class, once the backbone of this nation is in drastic decline. A poll was done that asked the question “if a close friend or a family member was in real need of financial assistance, would you rather have that person come to you or to the government for assistance. The majority of Republicans said “come to me”. A majority of the Democrats said “go to the government.” That tells you a lot. Part 2) There has been a lot of chatter recently that the Sun is in process of reversing its polarity. Its common, it happens about every 11 years. The really interesting thing is that now there is a huge hole in the suns corona, hence we are receiving less energy (heat) from the sun. The suns polar reversal signals that the sun has reached a “solar maximum”, and is now in process of heading toward a “solar minimum”. That will mean less heat from the sun reaching earth. Couple that with fact that there has been no increase in global mean temps since ’97, might well mean that we are heading into a much cooler time. The little ice age, which lasted from about 1350 to 1850, devastated Europe, and was a precipitator of the bubonic plague. A solar minimum known as the Maunder Minimum along with increased volcanic activity and cyclical lows in solar radiation, changes in the ocean circulation, an inherent variability in global climate were probably the cause. On earth, the only thing that never changes is that our climate is always changing. |
CLIMATE CHANGE |
Oh no!! Another government funded peer reviewed study has the audacity to defy the cult. This time it’s Geo Science and this is what it says: “The rate of global mean warming has been lower over the past decade than previously. It has been argued that this observation might require a downwards revision of estimates of equilibrium climate sensitivity, that is, the long-term (equilibrium) temperature response to a doubling of atmospheric CO2. Oh, that’s gotta hurt. |
