[Musk Smell] I jog every morning before sunrise along an undeveloped road, and last month, for about three weeks there was a strong smell of musk from one small area along the roadside. Years ago, when I was making lobster traps on Big Pine I complained of a musk smell coming from the dense ferns in back of the trap yard. The head trapeteer said the musk smell was from a rattlesnake. Could that be? I’ve never seen a rattlesnake on my road although I have seen one a mile from here many years ago. This week the smell is completely gone.
[“Boycott English”] The “P” in psychiatrist is silent, as is the pee in bathing suit.
[Controlled Burns] We are planning some prescribed burns in Pine Rockland Habitat in National Key Deer Refuge in October as conditions permit.  These will be on Upper Sugarloaf and Little Pine Key.  These areas are in parts of the refuge well removed from residential neighborhoods, but people may see smoke and report it.  Thanks for helping to spread the word.  The yellow-green colored area of the maps shows predicted smoke pathway.
[Pockets] How come girl’s pants don’t have pockets? They have to take a big ol’ handbag everywhere just to carry their credit card and comb.
[Deer Editor] Thanks for all the effort you put into the Telegraph. I know it’s a lot of hours for each edition. Many of us appreciate the work and effort you do to bring us a little humor and news in doing so. Thank you.
[Friday Joke] I just failed my driving test. When the examiner asked me, “What sign would you expect to see down a narrow country road?” Apparently, “Fresh Eggs For Sale” wasn’t the answer.

[Goliath Grouper] Florida lifts 30-year ban on catching goliath grouper (formerly known as Jewfish). The proposal is supported by fishing groups, and it calls for a lottery to issue licenses that allow each recipient to catch and kill one goliath. Link

[Trust] My wife of 35+ years is having a sleepover with girl we both grew up with back in the day. She tells me just her and “Nancy” will be sharing the master bed. Should I sleepwalk in the wee hours this night? I’m just wondering if other folks have these arrangements from time to time?
[Friday Joke] A traveling salesman knocks on the door of a house and a 10 year-old boy holding a martini in one hand and a cigar in the other answers the door.
The salesman asks, “Excuse me, but are your parents home?”
The boy takes a puff on his cigar, and says, “What the hell do you think?

[O.Z.] Does anyone know the real name of O.Z. who lived in Big Pine Key 20 years ago and since has passed away?

[Diet] After you read through this list of Human Diets the reality is they are all BS and not one matches another. In other words you can’t trust anyone’s opinion on food. Diets

[Yes] I don’t like when you are asked to confirm something important and the options to click are OK and Cancel. I want to click YES not Ok. OK seems rather casual as if there is another option or something lurking somewhere else.

[Paying Scammers with Gift Cards] While working a scam, scammers will sometimes ask you to wire money to them or send them cash, but increasingly they will tell you to go buy a gift card from a nearby store

How do you change people’s mind when they won’t listen to facts or truth? Deep down they know the truth but refuse to believe it because it would upset their applecart.

Deer Ed, The electric car post on 10/1 “Politics Page” that began, “At a neighborhood BBQ…” was terrific.  Thank you!
The gasoline powered car costs about $25,000 while the Volt costs $46,000 plus. So the Government wants us to pay twice as much for a car, that costs more than seven times as much to run, and takes three times longer to drive across the country.  Link
[Zinc Better Then Vaccine] 40 years ago I read an article in readers digest that was about the effects that Zinc had on viruses. It seems that zinc seems to stop viruses from reproducing. Now that was interesting. I’ve been talking zinc for years and lately I saw a YouTube video which I forwarded to you. It stated that-increased intercellular Zinc Impaired replication. My interpretation of impaired replication means that the viruses have difficulty reproducing so they DIE. Now I’m not very conscientious about the hand washing or eye rubbing care thing and I’m a non-Vaxer and ONLY  mask when it is supplied by the business requirements. But I religiously take my 51mg Zinc Picloinate Every morning.  I realize that my genetic inheritance is effective with the addition of the Zinc Picolinate to keep me relatively healthy. Like I said this works for ME but It might not work for you.

[Lies]  A lie doesn’t become truth, wrong doesn’t become right, and evil doesn’t become good, just because it’s accepted by a majority.

[Friday Mystery Joke] Having a Bad day? Fire authorities in California found a corpse in a burned-out section of forest while assessing the damage done by a forest fire. The deceased male was dressed in a full wet suit, complete with scuba tanks on his back, flippers, and face mask.

A post-mortem test revealed that the man died not from burns, but from massive internal injuries. Dental records provided a positive identification. Investigators then set about to determine how a fully clothed diver ended up in the middle of a forest fire.

It was revealed that on the day of the fire, the man went diving off the coast, some 20 miles from the forest. The fire fighters, seeking to control the fire as quickly as possible, had called in a fleet of helicopters with very large dip buckets. Water was dipped from the ocean and emptied at the site of the forest fire.

You guessed it. One minute our diver was making like Flipper in the Pacific, the next, he was doing the breast stroke in a fire dip bucket 300 feet in the air. Some days it just doesn’t pay to get out of bed.

Vitamin D is a nutrient your body needs for building and maintaining healthy bones. That’s because your body can only absorb calcium, the primary component of bone, when vitamin D is present. Vitamin D also regulates many other cellular functions in your body. Its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and neuroprotective properties support immune health, muscle function and brain cell activity. [Life Savior] Man whose blood plasma saved over 2.4 million babies donates for the last time. Video

[Lavish Spending] I normally don’t brag about my lavish and very expensive trips. But, I just got back from the Big Pine Shell after filling up with premium

[Social Media Crash] What? Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp down for 6 hours? A good start. My gosh, there’s actually stuff to do in the Keys beside complain on social media.

Miami Lizard King charged with trafficking Florida turtles. A convicted wildlife smuggler who still operates as a leading buyer and seller of reptiles has been accused by federal prosecutors of scheming to smuggle illegally harvested Florida turtles to China, Japan and other places. Link

Scientists can now tell if you had a ‘vanishing’ twin in the womb. New research hints at why some twins are identical. Link
If we could get rid of social media and it’s lies and misinformation, Covid would be gone.

[Sin List] I’m up to about 18 or so, how about the rest of y’all? This would also explain why there’s only a “Stairway to Heaven” and a “Highway to Hell.”
