Your Friend, Flip Flop Bob

[2017 Treehouse Murder] Lead detective claims his boss coached witnesses and fabricated evidence. On November 17, 2017 two masked men attacked 53-year-old Paula Belmonte, who lived on the roof of Matthew Bonnett’s “treehouse” on Stock Island. One of them put a knife to her throat and demanded money. The frail woman screamed at the top of her lungs. He cut a two-inch gash in her throat. Alerted by the screaming, Bonnett rushed upstairs. The two assailants went after him. He was stabbed multiple times from behind as he tried to run away. Belmonte survived but Bonnett was dead by the time police arrived. Link
[Stress] I have a military that tells me about current boot camp recruits having a ‘stress card’ – if they are feeling stressed, they show/wave the stress card and get a timeout to recover from their training stress.  Really. I guess things have really changed – really.
I too am an Amy Vet – ’65 – 68.  I remember I too had a stress card – however my stress card was called Drill Sgt. LaGraff and “getchurassdownthereandgimme10B4Ikickyourassyouworthlesspieceofcrapgrunt” plus other stressful descriptive terms. Anyway, Sgt. LaGraff’s explanation always seemed to quickly relieve my stress issues.
Stress Card – we are doomed – glad I’m old and won’t have to see a war where the Infantry soldiers wave their stress card just before the Russian or whatever enemy kills them.

This is how people ignored each other before smart phones.

Even though our hurricane evacuation compliance is a complete charade, our illustrious county commission has approved 300 new ROGO units in spite of nearly universal condemnation of the idea by the citizens.  Why don’t they just get it all over with and pave over everything and just paint it green?

I went to see about storing my boat at Sea Center on Big Pine but they require the boat to be insured. I suspect that Sea Center doesn’t have its own insurance after the Irma disaster. They are the only marina I know of that requires the customer to be insured. Maybe they all require insurance these days, but I don’t think so.

[Apps] There’s an app for everything except a verdict app for when you are waiting for a verdict to be reached it notifies you when the jury has reached a verdict.
[Hate Speech] Facebook floods you with ads based on your search. When you search for something on another site you immediately receive ads from Facebook (and other social media) from its site for the same stuff even if you searched it from another site. The reason they don’t police hate speech or conspiracy speech is because they don’t want to. They have the technology but not the will

What’s more useless and a waste of time? Watching Netflix all day or playing video games all day?

[Voting] They should punish any state that restricts voters and reward states that encourage voting.
[Greedy Roku vs Greedy Google] Dear Roku Customer, We are sending this email to update you on the possibility that Google may take away your access to the YouTube TV channel on Roku. Recent negotiations with Google to carry YouTube TV have broken down because Roku cannot accept Google’s unfair terms as we believe they could harm our users. Link

Kimberly-Clark will raise prices to offset their low $584 million profit in just the 1st quarter. In the early weeks of the pandemic, toilet paper demand skyrocketed. It doubled in the second week of March and remained high through the rest of the year. In a typical year, Americans spend around $9 billion on toilet paper, but in 2020, they spent more than $11 billion. Link

Biden picks a NOAA chief, looking to end the agency’s long stretch without a leader. Rick Spinrad, a professor of oceanography at Oregon State University, to head the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the country’s premier climate science agency. Link
[Pecker Checker] For the biologically confused. There are important questions to be answered about recent bathroom legislation and whether transgender people will be permitted to use a restroom of the gender that they “identify” with or be required to use the restroom of their biological gender.

If the latter, would public restrooms be required to have a Genital Inspection Station posted at the entrance to all public restrooms?
Who will have to pay these Pecker Checkers, the people using the restroom, or the entity that owns the restroom?
And how much money will a Pecker Checker be paid to check peckers?
Or, do we pay a Pecker Checker by the number of peckers checked?
How many peckers can a Pecker Checker check if a Pecker Checker could check peckers?
What has this country come to when the U.S. Department of Labor has to create a new job description of Politically Correct Restroom Service Inspectors?
Want to guess their motto? “If You gotta pee – We gotta see!”

[Arresting Blacks] I suggest all of the armchair quarterbacks, go through the academy get sworn in, then patrol some areas that are predominately black neighborhoods and see how police are treated.  I’m sure its worse than it was in the late 80’s and 90’s, and it was really bad then.  If you have not committed a crime, and are lawfully stopped or not, you should comply with all orders given, if the stop violated your rights, there will be plenty of time after the fact.  When someone resists detention or arrest, the officer has no other option than to physically take you into custody, they could have felony warrants, wanted for homicide, rape etc.  Comply, and all will be well.
[1440.com Daily Newsletter] Your impartial, comprehensive daily news source. This site has turned out to be the least sensationalized, least slanted, actual reporting I’ve seen in a very long time.  They don’t try to push things left or right, just report what’s happening.  Information without jangling my nerves, astonishing!  So far, I can honestly recommend it as a source of plain information. [Canals] The Monroe County Commission will accept public comment for the new canal restoration work program that requires updated canal master plan information and proposed selection criteria. The new plan ranks 96 canals in unincorporated Monroe County with poor or fair water quality ratings that do not meet minimum state standards for water quality. Link
