[Canals] If I find out who is cleaning big fish and dumping the head and guts into the canal so the rotted carcass can float by my house, collect flies, stink and generally turn the canal into a garbage dump…I am going to collect that rotted fish and deposit it on your deck, or if your door is open on your living room floor.
Treat the canal like a swimming pool and we will all be better off.
[Free Martial Arts Classes] We are using our great Big Pine Key Park for our martial arts classes Mondays and Thursdays, 7:00 pm, Southernmost Aikikai, Aikido a martial art of movement, self-defense and conflict resolution. No cost, we just meet, do a pretty good warm up and work out. See us on Facebook, “Aikido Southernmost Aikikai”. Join us! Any questions, give me a call, 305-304-5100. 12 years old to 80. ~John Duke sensei
[Computer Repair Scams] Computers have been a lifeline to the outside world for many people quarantining at home during the Covid-19 pandemic. Tech support scammers are taking advantage of people’s fears and fleecing consumers out of millions of dollars.

[“Telling time thru t-shirts”] This is as far back as I can remember. If I can find another old shirt I’ll be able to remember more.

Groucho was a great comedian, but Gonzales, Gonzales stole the show. You may remember Gonzales Gonzales. Here is the skit when he appeared as a contestant on “You Bet Your Life” with Groucho Marx. This launched his career as an actor. Video

[“Fake mosquitoes inject the COVID-19 virus with their noses”] Answer: Zero. The COVID-19 virus cannot live in a mosquito host- any mosquito host, genetically altered or otherwise.  I don’t think you understand the principle here. The “fake” mosquitos do not bite, they are male non-biting mosquitoes. So they cannot inject the COVID-19 virus with their noses ( proboscis). So your “very dumb idea” is based on a false premise. There are plenty of objections to the release of GMO mosquitos, yours is decidedly not one that anyone would take seriously; so to avoid sounding so ill informed, I would keep that thinking to yourself.
[Silver] That was excellent research on the old silver coins. I have a silver certificate from back in the day. It looks like a one dollar bill but says redeemable for one ounce of silver on it. Silver bullion is quite under-valued right now and it’s hard to purchase physical silver now, especially silver eagles. I used to buy a lot from Molly’s Pawn on BPK ~John

[Wildfire closes Card Sound Road] Wildfires had burned through 11,500 acres east of Card Sound Road as of early Monday afternoon. Firefighters are working to prevent the blaze from threatening U.S. 1. Link

As I walked down the busy sidewalk with my wife, knowing I was late for Mass my eyes fell upon one of those unfortunate ragged vagabonds that are found in every city these days. Some people turned to stare. Others quickly looked away as if the sight would somehow contaminate them. Recalling my old pastor, Father Mike, who always admonished me to “care for the sick, feed the hungry and clothe the naked”, I was moved by some powerful inner urge to reach out to this unfortunate person. Wearing what can only be described as rags, carrying her treasured worldly possessions in two plastic bags, my heart was touched by this person’s condition.
Yes, where some people saw only rags, I saw a true, hidden beauty. A small voice inside my head called out, “Reach out … reach out and touch this person!”
[Racial Slur Database] And you wonder why there is so much hate! Link
[Mystery Art] Here is a bit of a mystery though someone know more. I did ask the Big Pine Key Park maintenance guy to tell me something about this ’art’’ piece that was placed in the park. He said that a truck pulled up one day and ‘’delivered’’ this piece. He ask what it was  a piece that represents “waves in waves”. Ok that’s good, but who is the artist, is it a finished work, is there a story behind it? Maybe we could have a contest to name it , “Lost Fish Traps”, “Irma Debris”, “Double Bubble”,  anyway Bill could be fun to pursue.

My neighbor thinks she saw a Chupacabra in her yard last night. Anybody else seen one of those things down here?  (and no, I don’t mean the guys that hang at the back end of the Tiki bar).
