[Zen] If there is evil in your heart you will never attain Zen.

We received our test kits yesterday. It’s good that they sent 2 extra because I screwed up my first attempt.

[Ukraine] It was exciting the other night watching Sheppard Smith news when he was going to show the live feed from the camera at the big nuclear power plant in Ukraine. Just as the feed began, BAM! tracers started flying from left to right and fire broke out. We didn’t know if the reactors were going to melt or what! Whew!

[Booze is Bad for Brain] Even a few drinks a week can cause your brain to shrink. Link

[Batteries] The demand for nickel to make batteries caused the metal’s stock price to climb north of $100,000 a ton causing the New York Stock Exchange to suspend trading in nickel until things calm down.
[Two-way Power Flow] General Motors and Pacific Gas & Electric this morning signed a deal that allow’s GM’s electric machines to power your home. The agreement also allows for excess energy from California’s bazillion ev’s to transfer excess energy back to the power company.
What is just as interesting is that it was two woman who thought this up and put the deal together in just 6-months. A California Congresswoman thought of this idea and brought it to her long-time friend and former mentor who is now the CEO of GM who loved the idea. This level of cooperation is how everything should work. California is so hip it’s like a foreign land. I guess that’s whay the call Los Angeles “LaLa Land.” Link

[Animal Heaven] If animals don’t go to heaven then I want to go where they go when I die.

[Oil] Shell’s corporate office said that it was difficult not to buy a load of Russian crude oil at such a discounted price. Not “no” but “F**king No!” when your only decision was the company’s bottom line. Shell doesn’t give a damn about the death & destruction that this self-interest purchase is and will continue to cause. Only in for the buck. Boycott Shell Gasoline.

Flogging dog owners who do not pick up their dog’s poo on the pillory.

[Check Out Frustration] So I am at the store scanning and bagging my almost $300 worth of groceries while the employee that wants $15 an hour “monitors” and then this happened.
Her – why are you double bagging all of your groceries?
Me – excuse me?
Her – you are wasting our bags!
Me – if you don’t like the way I’m bagging the groceries, feel free to come on over here and bag them yourself.
Her – that’s not my job!
Me – okay, then I will bag my groceries how I please if that’s all right with you.
Her – why are you using two bags?!
Me – because the bags are weak and I don’t want the handles to break or the bottoms to rip out.
Her – well that’s because you are putting too much stuff in the bag. If you took half of that stuff out and put it in a different bag then you wouldn’t need to double bag. …10 seconds of me just staring at her.
Me – so you want me to split these items in half and put half of them in a different bag so that I don’t have to double bag.
Her – exactly.
Me – so I would still be using two bags to hold the same number of items.
Her – no because you wouldn’t be double bagging. Me: pressing two fingers to my left eye in an attempt to make it stop twitching.
Me – okay so here I have a jug of milk and a bottle of juice double bagged. If I take the milk out and remove the double bagging and just put the milk in the single bag and the juice in that single bag I’m still using two bags for these two items.
Her- no because you are not double bagging them so it’s not the same number of bags. Me: looking around at about 10 other customers who at this point are enjoying the show.
Me- is this like that Common Core math stuff I keep hearing about?
Her- never mind you just don’t get it.
And with that, she went back to her little podium so she could continue texting or playing games on her phone or whatever it was she was doing before she decided to come over and critique my bagging skills.
This kilonova could have created the first-ever extragalactic ‘sonic boom’. A collision between two neutron stars is emitting mysterious X-rays—and astronomers are getting closer to pinning down the source. Link
[Potholes] How come there’s enough asphalt for speed bumps? But never enough to fill potholes?
[The Good, The Bad And The Ugly] Fifty-four years ago, when Clint Eastwood was 36, he starred in the spaghetti western classic, “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.” Some may remember the film and the story. Others may just reflect on the theme song for that motion picture. Composer Ennio Morricone passed away July 6, 2020 at the age of 92. Eli Wallach passed away in 2014 at age 98. Lee Van Cleef died in 1989 at 64. It’s hard to forget that opening sound track and it’s been used in a number of TV commercials. It’s definitely haunting and was created using the magic of an electronic keyboard. But who knew that a woman was responsible for the whaa wha wha and the whistling?Enjoy this 54-year-old relic from the past. Trailer
The world would be a much better place if people would mind their own business.
Full Moon Kayak Excursions:  We are holding a training session March 10th at 4 p.m. for volunteers who would like to assist with the Full Moon Kayak Tours.  We take a bunch of kayakers out on Bogie Channel, beginning at the Old Wooden Bridge Marina, 1791 Bogie Dr on Big Pine Key, across the water to No Name Key and north.  The first trip will be March 16th 5-7 p.m., the second April 14th 5-7 p.m.  As volunteers, we arrive about 4:30, help guests get fitted for lifejackets, sign waivers, collect money, hand out lights and paddles, help them get into the kayaks and guide/follow them across the water and then help them out of the kayaks, get everything put away and wish them a fond farewell.  You do not need to help with both trips.  Training is at the Old Wooden Bridge Marina.

Am I the Only One (Song by Aaron Lewis)
Am I the only one here tonight
Shakin’ my head and thinkin’ somethin’ ain’t right
Is it just me? Am I losin’ my mind?
Am I standin’ on the edge of the end of time?
Am I the only one? Tell me I’m not. Video
It is estimated that the Spanish Conquistadores slaughtered a quarter million Aztec Indians for not bowing to the king of Spain and converting Catholicism. Present day Catholics abhor it when Muslims slaughter non-believers, but most of them aren’t aware of the Church’s brutal history of torturing and killing non-believers. Regrettably Catholics reading this will only see it as Catholic-bashing. It is not. It is history; and nothing is more interesting than history weather you like it or not.
[Chug] About 2,000 migrants from Haiti and Cuba have made the risky trip to Florida since October. On Sunday afternoon, over 350 migrants from Haiti arrived in an overloaded wooden boat that grounded offshore from an exclusive gated community in northern Key Largo. Link
